Nossa fé / Our faith /

Our faith
Bible reading: Genesis 50: 15-21
We live by faith and not by what we see. (2 Corinthians 5: 7)

We are surrounded by so many movements that challenge our faith! The same happened with the servants of God in the past. In a society that strayed from God, they have deposited, by faith, all his trust in God. Abel offered better sacrifice, Enoch walked faithful, Noah was God-fearing, Abram left without knowing where to go, Sara believed that it could have a son, Isaac knew that he and his family were being guided, Jacob worshipped in the desert (Hebrews 11), Joseph believed, by faith, that everything that happened to him had a purpose: "You planned evil against me, but God made it in good." All of these lived by faith, believing in God, but did not see what God had promised.
The Christian is privileged by the fact of life supported by promises made in the past, held at the coming of Jesus to the world. God has visited his people. Reconciliation with him reached us. Our faith is grounded on the realization of God in Jesus. Today we need our faith to face challenges and invested, that come from diabolical all fronts. We tend to doubt that God is really seeing everything that is happening in the world! God is mute, think some. Others ask, why didn't he speak? I have the impression that the heroes of faith, with all the suffering that had possibly made the same questions. Certainly the author of Psalm 77 faced that question. On the day of our life we are called to say that we believe in God, even when apparently he doesn't speak. I read about a boy that someone asked how he knew that God had accepted as a child. Wanted to know if he had a vision, or heard a voice. After thinking a bit, he replied: "it's like when you fish a fish too large. You don't see nor hear the fish. But you feel it is hooked at the tip of that line. I feel like God is hooked to my heart ".
Faith sees what your eyes can't see

Santos / Saints /

Saints

Bible reading:Leviticus 20: 7-8.26
The Lord God commanded Moses to tell the people of Israel as follows:-they are saints, for I, the Lord, the God of you, am Holy (Leviticus 19: 1-2).

God wants us to be saints. But what does that mean? Reading the word of God, we perceive that Holiness is characterized by the practice of a liberating justice, capable of producing healthy relationships between the children of God. This is why "loving our neighbour" is a fundamental norm in divine project (Matthew 5:38 -48).

There is no Holiness without genuine love to others, i.e. There is no Holy life and consecrated to God without altruistic attitudes, that value people. Certainly it's good to prove God's love and receive their gifts, but you must try the privilege that is love and benefit others. We both live in abundance that often we forget to look beyond our plans, projects and dreams. Be holy means to be people who cares about people. The path of sanctity implies giving attention to detail and small everyday attitudes when it does need more than good intentions. People are holy because they are separated to belong to God, not because they are perfect and fully "ready"-incidentally, Holiness is a process that lasts a lifetime. Those living this transformation was consecrated by the Lord to worship the one true God, was freed to serve him and so celebrate the feast of freedom. Why God calls us to be saints.

Some think that Holiness means isolation. But God does not want the separation from the world and people, as if re-visiting restricted places offer better tools to the practice of Holiness. Nothing more wrong than this! Holiness requires proximity and contact. She is a seasoned to life, that gives flavour to our relationship with God and also with other human beings. God ordains that seek to be holy as him, so that our life sanctified promote your love and your name.
Holiness is not just for ourselves: benefits the others.

Justiça de Deus / God's righteousness /

O rei, então, anunciou: “A lei será cumprida!”

God's righteousness
God made SIN for us that we had no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God (2 Cor. 5.21).
Only through Christ can we be considered was righteous before God. Not always grasp this idea. There was a King a very powerful and respected by his people, but he had serious problems with theft in his Kingdom. Thus, the King decreed: "whosoever steal in my Kingdom will be publicly flogged 20 times". When the order was circulated throughout the Kingdom, the people feared too be punished and robberies decreased. However, one night, the guards caught in flagrante someone stealing in the Royal Palace. The King was outraged and went to see who was the criminal, but scared when placed in front of his own mother. Now, the King would have to make a difficult decision. If you do not abide by the law, no one else would, but if he fulfilled, his mother certainly would not support the pain of punishment and would die. All the people learned of the incident and, the next day, where would the punishment, curious waited to learn what the King would do. When he appeared with his mother, surrounded by guards, the people quietly waited the decision. The King then announced: "the law shall be fulfilled!" Taking their clothes, ordered his guards to implement the judgment on it.
This short story helps us to understand what Christ did for us on the cross. He transgressed the law of God, but paid by our mistakes, assuming all our guilt. As well as the mother of the King in history, we couldn't sustain the verdict, so Christ gave his life for us. This is the justice that reconciles us with God. It is already a reality in your life? Repent of their errors and delivered his life to the Lord, becoming his son and receive eternal life.
God looked at his son and saw our sin. Today, look at your children and sees his righteousness!

Nem só de pão / Not by bread alone /

Not by bread alone
"Man does not live by bread alone, but lives of all
that the Lord tells us ". (Deuteronomy 8: 3 C)

With about 30 years of age, Jesus came from Galilee to the Jordan River location where John the Baptist performed baptisms. John felt some embarrassment, saying he is who should be baptized by Jesus, but Jesus replied, "Let so as; so we should be able to fulfill all righteousness "(Matthew 3.15). He was baptized and received a clear signal of approval from his father.
The master then continues toward the desert to be alone with God and, in a way, also prepare yourself for anything that you can do the following. This opportunity comes Satan. He has apparently motivated in providing aid to Jesus, that at that point, after so many days in fasting, are hungry and don't have what to eat. By there, which lacked were stones. Certainly, Satan must have caught some and offered to Jesus, challenging him to prove that he was the son of God by transforming them into loaves. You no longer fell into a trap of the evil one? Possibly Yes. Only after you discovered the truth recorded in 20.17 Sayings: "the man is Soft bread won by fraud, but then his mouth will fill of small rocks of sand".
What was the reaction of Jesus? He found in the word of God a precise answer. It does not delete the physical need, but gives priority to the submission to the will of the father. Satan went away without having succeeded in its attempt to divert Him from his mission. Then the father sent angels who served. In the same way that maintained his people in the desert with Manna, God fed his son, showing you that it is worth being faithful to divine will. Christ teaches us that we can not give in to temptation, seeking in the word the force required to do this.
The strength to resist Satan comes from a good spiritual power.
