Trevas ou Luz? / Darkness or light? /

"Darkness or light?"
The Egyptians couldn't see each other, and in those days no one left home. However in all the houses of the Israelites there was light (Exodus 10:23).

Darkness throughout the land of Egypt. It is not known which was the immediate cause of the darkness-perhaps a sandstorm. The text says only that she was not limited to the address of the Israelites arrive. This was the ninth plague sent by God for the deliverance of the people of Israel. Unlike most, it arrived without notice.
The descendants of Jacob went into Egypt because of famine that struck the land of Canaan, where they lived. Seventy people, they became a people numerous and, because of this, they were made slaves for four hundred years. Even in the face of all the oppression, God always preserved his people and in the right time raised Moses as her released.
The Israelis also would go through many miracles and demonstrations of God's love and care, but this moment of darkness in Egypt and light to the people of God can bring us today a teaching need! 8:12 in John, Jesus said, "I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life. " Darkness to those who live far from God, light for those who follow Jesus!
Darkness brings sadness, discouragement and insecurity. Light brings us joy, new prospects and confidence to follow on the road. Even in difficult days, the light of life is present, because Jesus is with us!
How good it is to belong to the Lord!
When we walk with Jesus, automatically live in light! It's like an anthem that you says to know: "What security! I am Jesus. I already enjoy the blessings of light! ". It doesn't get any better than that! Among the many miracles that we may witness, I believe that the greatest is to have Jesus as our friend and belong to him. Out of darkness into his wonderful light is unparalleled! That the Lord Jesus shine in your life!
Christ in us is the light to illuminate the world in darkness.

Quem abrirá o livro? / Who will open the book? /

Who will open the book?

"There was no one, either in heaven or on earth or under the Earth, which could open the book, or even look at it" (Revelation 5: 3)

For me the main message that the book of revelation wishes to convey is of hope and consolation. Amidst the constant persecutions, Christians of the time needed a word that give some reason to support everyone suffering and not give up faith in Jesus. They had to remember that Christ came into the world to face death and defeat it, freeing the eternal punishment of those who believe in him and you surrender your life to live one day without suffering and in holiness before God.

The highlight of today's text is a book that nobody had authority to open. It symbolizes God's plan for the universe, including the fate of the people in eternity. Interestingly, nowhere there was someone who could not even look at it. If we didn't know that Christ came into the world and what he has done for us, our reality would be described in the text by the apostle John: crying and despair. Because no authority, strength or person can give us eternal life. We would be totally lost: there's nothing what can I do to get it alone and no one could help us. When we are far from God, we can be who we want and have what we would like, but we'll try never to true life, just an empty and meaningless existence.

I thank God — through Jesus Christ, the one who has the power to open that book and initiate the final events. This is only possible because he won. But this victory had a price. So that we could find life, Jesus had to give her. Is the faith in this fact that gives us the hope we need to live in this turbulent world and the confidence that everything will happen as he promised in his word.

"Our hope is based on what Christ has done and will do for us."

Inimigos / Enemies / Враги

Enemies
Bible reading: Exodus 1: 1-10
But I tell you: love your enemies and pray for that Chase you (Matthew 5:44).

They say that if you can't beat your enemy, should join him! It is difficult to judge whether this recommendation is cynical, silly, crazy or maybe even wise. A simple position and when it will most likely be entirely wrong-enmity is complicated enough to permit simple answers. Why anyone would be my enemy? Because I have something against him or because he has something against me? And why this or that? Everything will depend on the circumstances and intentions. Note well: I'm talking about people, not the devil, with whom any Alliance of course is out of the question.
So a little attitude of Egyptian King we just read. When you look at the Israelites, he assumed that these would be a threat and began to abuse them before they did, according to the maxim that the best defense is attack. But ... What if he had treated well, sought an alliance with them beforehand? Will not come out of a "win-win" situation, where both sides profit? Well, guess that's mere hunch, and the case is too far from us so that we want to teach the King of Egypt how to proceed. Even so, the idea makes sense: in the background, many of our traditional enmities are more imaginary than real, and, moreover, so many times its causes are misunderstandings. Therefore the proposal of Jesus in verse in featured is so interesting-she challenges us to face the enemy in a way completely different and positive, even more to love like Jesus proposes to allow ourselves to be moved by the love of God and not just for some noble intent. The King of Egypt knew nothing of this and maybe even see another possibility might not, but we are God offers his love if you use the command of our life. After all, it was this way that Jesus overcame our enmity (real!) with God! What about going further in this direction?

My enemy + sake = my brother and friend.

Aproximação / Approximation /

Approximation

So come close to God with a sincere heart and a firm faith in good conscience of our sins and washed body with pure water (Hebrews 10:22).

You may have heard someone expressing his feelings saying: "If anyone in the world could help me ... "or" If there was ... ". Many pass through difficult situations in their lives. Come to think they are abandoned, that there is no one worried about them or to whom they can turn to.

But when we look at God, things change. He did not create the people to be suffering here on Earth, although there are difficulties, but provided with everything they need to not suffer or, at least, so that their suffering is appeased.

The text today talks about someone who went through many difficulties and temptations, but needs that topped it all. And most interesting is that he went through all those difficult situations without sin (i.e. without upsetting to the parent). This person is Jesus. He faced many problems and was tempted in all areas that we know, but never bowed to any kind of temptation. Thus, can help us because he has experience, know what we are feeling and understands our weaknesses. The Council of the Bible is that we should bring us that Jesus, who is God (see verse highlighting). How can we do this in practice? The author of the book of Hebrews says that one must seek the Lord with sincerity and with firm faith. This means have at heart the decision to let us purify, i.e. we can and must hand over any sense of guilt to God, confessing to him our sin. As we talked with friends, we can talk to God. It will manifest itself to us and we made their children. In addition, we will receive the grace that will help us in times of need (v16).
God gives new life and aid in difficult times to whom he gives his life.
