Fraqueza humana LEITURA BÍBLICA: Ester 1.1-5, 10-22 _______________ [Pela fé] da fraqueza tiraram força... (Hebreus 11.34) _______________

Este texto é uma comprovação de que em qualquer época o homem é sempre o mesmo. O argumento usado pelos conselheiros do rei Xerxes mostra o egoísmo presente na decisão. Se até os nobres da corte estavam preocupados com a consequência do fato, que se dirá dos simples súditos? Por outro lado, vemos como cometemos julgamento prematuro a respeito de outros. Será que as mulheres do reino não poderiam, individualmente, fazer suas escolhas de conduta no tocante ao marido? É notável como tais nobres legislavam em causa própria. São parecidos com alguns políticos de hoje, que apenas beneficiam aqueles que pertencem ao mesmo partido.

Vejamos também o que pensavam os nobres. A rainha Vasti deveria ser substituída por outra que aceitasse ser mulher-objeto. Peça de admiração que valesse por sua beleza e não pelo caráter. Isso lembra bem os valores dos dias em que vivemos.

Será que somos uma geração mais civilizada? Também há algo invisível aos conselheiros do rei. Se, para ter autoridade em sua casa, os maridos precisassem de um edito real, que líderes fracos seriam! Nem perceberam que o conselho era uma revelação tão vergonhosa para eles. Segundo a Bíblia, a liderança masculina no casamento não se estabelece por meio de ordens, mas por amor à esposa e a Cristo (Efésios 5.22-33), e acontece pelo exemplo.

O texto nos mostra que a fraqueza humana é encontrada em todas as gerações. Mas Deus não quer que nos conformemos com isso. Por meio de Cristo, ele oferece seu perdão àqueles que reconhecem sua fraqueza e se arrependem dela. O único modo de libertar-se da necessidade de continuar desobedecendo a Deus é entregando a vida a Cristo, que a torna nova e eterna. Ele transforma não apenas nossa família, mas todos os nossos relacionamentos e valores. (MJT)

Quem vive com Deus não precisa forçar a situação, mas ganha uma força que faz bem a todos.

See also what they thought the nobles. Queen Vashti should be replaced by another that would be woman-object. Piece of wonder worth for their beauty, not the character. It remembers well the values of the days in which we live.

Are we a generation more civilized? There's also something invisible to the King's advisors. If, to have authority in your home, husbands needed a royal edict, weak leaders would be. Didn't even realize the advice was a revelation so shameful for them. According to the Bible, the male leadership in marriage is established by means of orders, but out of love to his wife and the Christ (Ephesians 5.22-33), and happens for example.

The text shows us that human weakness is found in all generations. But God doesn't want us to be conformed with this. Through Christ, he offers his forgiveness to those who recognize their weakness and repent of it. The only way to free yourself from the need to continue defying the God is giving life to Christ, which makes new and everlasting. He transforms not only our family, but all our relationships and values. (MJT)

Who lives with God does not need to force the situation, but wins a force that makes us all good.

Esta é a hora! / This is the time!

Esta é a hora! LEITURA BÍBLICA: Gênesis 41.1-9 _______________ Então o chefe dos copeiros disse ao faraó: “Hoje me lembro das minhas faltas” (Gênesis 41.9). _______________

É bem frequente alguém ter um encontro com Deus e depois afastar-se dele. Quando José interpretou na prisão o sonho do chefe dos copeiros, ele pediu a este que intercedesse por ele, pois era inocente (Gênesis 40.14). José confiou que a pessoa beneficiada demonstraria gratidão. Enganou-se. O copeiro viu Deus agir ali, mas depois o esqueceu. É notável como Deus conduz as vidas humanas. Observando toda a história de José, percebe-se que a lembrança da ingratidão do chefe dos copeiros ocorreu por intervenção divina.

Apesar dos sofrimentos de José, Deus estava no controle da situação. Como é bom saber que Deus sempre tem cuidado da nossa vida! O faraó (o rei do Egito) perturbou-se com seu sonho e o chefe dos copeiros sabia o quanto isso era perigoso. Um caso semelhante relatado em Daniel 2 (confira!) mostra o perigo que era contrariar os reis daqueles tempos. Se Daniel não estivesse lá, teria havido um massacre. Quando o chefe dos copeiros percebeu que ninguém era capaz de interpretar o sonho, lembrou-se de José e então teve coragem de confessar sua ingratidão até para o faraó. Ainda agiu a tempo, mas não deveríamos esperar Deus agir para confessarmos nossas faltas. Se esperarmos, Deus ainda assim agirá, mas para nós isso é perigoso. E se não percebermos a ação de Deus nos chamando ao arrependimento? Quais são, portanto, os tempos de arrependimento? São dois: o primeiro quando nós mesmos percebemos que pecamos; o segundo, quando Deus nos lembra do nosso pecado. Na Bíblia temos vários exemplos de arrependimento adiado, e em nenhum deles o resultado foi bom. Um exemplo marcante é o do rico e de Lázaro, contada por Jesus em Lucas 16.19-31. Um dos textos mais enfáticos da Bíblia a respeito disso é Hebreus 4:7, onde lemos: “Se hoje vocês ouvirem a sua voz, não endureçam o coração, como na rebelião”. (MJT)

This is the time! BIBLE READING: Genesis 41.1-9 _______________ Then the Chief of the cupbearers said to Pharaoh: "Today I remember of my faults" (Genesis 41.9). _______________

Quite often someone have an encounter with God and then move away from him. When José played in prison the dream of Chief of the cupbearers, he asked this to intercede for him, because he was innocent (Genesis 40.14). Joseph trusted the person benefited demonstrate gratitude. Wrong. the Butler saw God acting there, but then forgot. It's remarkable how God leads the human lives. Observing the whole story of Joseph, one realizes that the memory of the ingratitude of the Chief of the cupbearers occurred by divine intervention.

Despite the sufferings of Joseph, God was in control of the situation. How nice it is to know that God will always take care of our life! The Pharaoh (King of Egypt) disturbed by his dream and the Chief of the cupbearers knew how much it was dangerous. A similar case reported in Daniel 2 (check!) shows the danger that was counter to the Kings of those times. If Daniel wasn't there, there would have been a massacre. When the Chief of the cupbearers realized that nobody was able to interpret the dream, remembered Joseph and then had the courage to confess his ingratitude to the Pharaoh. Still acted in time, but we should not expect God to act to confess our faults. If we wait, God still will act, but for us that's dangerous. And if you don't realize the action of God calling us to repentance? What are therefore the days of repentance? Are twofold: the first when we ourselves perceive that SIN; the second, when God reminds us of our sin. In the Bible we have several examples of repentance postponed, and in none of them the result was good. A striking example is that of the rich and of Lazarus, told by Jesus in Luke 16.19-31. One of the more emphatic texts of the Bible about this is Hebrews 4: 7, where we read: "If today you hear his voice, harden not your hearts, as in the rebellion." (MJT)

Corrida / Race

Corrida LEITURA BÍBLICA: Filipenses 3.10-14 _______________ Livremo-nos de tudo o que nos atrapalha e do pecado que nos envolve, e corramos com perseverança a corrida que nos é proposta (Hebreus 12.1b). _______________

Um corredor se destacou nas Olimpíadas de 1968, na cidade do México. Nenhuma pessoa havia terminado a maratona com tanto atraso.  Machucado ao longo do caminho, ele se arrastou para dentro do estádio com o curativo em sua perna cheio de sangue. Chegou mais de uma hora depois do vencedor. Quando lhe perguntaram por que continuou a correr apesar de sua dor, ele respondeu: “O meu país não me enviou para a cidade do México para iniciar a corrida. Ele me enviou para terminá-la”.

Quem vive com Cristo também tem uma corrida proposta. Ao longo do percurso podem surgir muitas dificuldades, mas apesar disso é preciso continuar com perseverança, até alcançarmos a linha final.

Aos coríntios, o apóstolo Paulo relatou alguns problemas que enfrentou na vida cristã: “Cinco vezes recebi dos judeus trinta e nove açoites. Três vezes fui golpeado com varas, uma vez apedrejado, três vezes sofri naufrágio, passei uma noite e um dia exposto à fúria do mar. Estive continuamente viajando de uma parte a outra, enfrentei perigos nos rios, perigos de assaltantes, perigos de meus compatriotas, perigos dos gentios; perigos na cidade, perigos no deserto, perigos no mar, e perigos dos falsos irmãos. Trabalhei arduamente; muitas vezes fiquei sem dormir, passei fome e sede, e muitas vezes fiquei em jejum; suportei frio e nudez” (2 Coríntios 11.24-27).

Apesar de tudo isso, percebemos em Paulo uma firme convicção da necessidade de continuar correndo em direção à linha de chegada. No texto indicado para o dia de hoje você o encontra afirmando: “Prossigo para o alvo, a fim de ganhar o prêmio do chamado celestial de Deus em Cristo Jesus” (v 14). Assim é necessário que encaremos nossa corrida, convictos da necessidade de alcançarmos o alvo que nos é proposto. (MP)

 Para vencer não basta iniciar a corrida, é preciso terminá-la.

Race BIBLE READING: Philippians 3.10-14 _______________ Let's get rid of all that hinders us and sin which surrounds us, and run with perseverance the race that is proposed (Hebrews 12.1 b). _______________

A hallway stood out in the 1968 Olympics in Mexico City. No person had finished the Marathon with so much delay. Hurt along the way, he crawled into the stadium with the bandage on his leg covered in blood. Arrived more than an hour after the winner. When asked why he continued to run despite his pain, he replied: "my country didn't send me to Mexico City to start the race. He sent me to finish it ".

Who lives with Christ also has a proposed race. Along the way many difficulties may arise, but despite that we must continue with perseverance until we reach the finish line. To the Corinthians, the Apostle Paul reported some problems faced in the Christian life: "Five times the Jews received thirty-nine lashes. Three times was struck with sticks, stoned, thrice I suffered shipwreck, a night and a day spent exposed to the fury of the sea. I've been continually travelling from one part to another, through dangers in rivers, perils of robbers, dangers of my countrymen, perils of the Gentiles; dangers in the city, perils in the wilderness, perils in the sea, and dangers of false brethren. I've worked hard; many times I was without sleep, starved and thirsty, and often stayed in fasting; endured cold and nakedness "(2 Corinthians 11.24-27).

Despite all this, we perceive in Paul a firm conviction of the need to keep running toward the finish line. The text entered for today you find stating: "I press toward the mark, in order to win the prize of the so-called celestial God in Christ Jesus" (v. 14). Thus it is necessary that we our race, convinced of the need to achieve the proposed target. (MP)

 To win it is not enough to start the race, we must finish it.
