Recuperação / Recovery

Recuperação
Leitura bíblica:
_________________

Nesses momentos precisamos consultar o Senhor. Foi o que Davi fez. Recebeu resposta positiva.

Nothing lacked: neither young nor old, neither sons nor daughters, neither goods nor anything else that had been taken. David recovered all (1 Samuel 30.19).

Life has for each of us these surprises that happened with David and his companions. As today, behind the wars there was always interest material. When the Amalekites saw that the city of Ziklag was unsafe, took advantage and made a "cleaning". They took everything they could and torched the town. The loss was total, but what else did it for David and his companions was the loss of their children and wives, i.e. households.
In these moments we need to consult the Lord. That's what David did. Received positive response. God would be with him in the fight. The Amalekites were insensitive. Only took with life the inhabitants of Ziklag because they could be enslaved. That poor bastard Egyptian that the text recounts had been left behind by being sick. He was only worth something healthy. Was left to die. God is amazing. This Egyptian abandoned would be used by God to direct David and his followers to the looters of Ziklag and of their families.
In contrast with the procedure of the Amalekites, it is remarkable to observe here the wisdom of David. But make sure the divine support, used the intelligence: seized the abandoned Egyptian information. Respected his companions: didn't mean to men exhausted in the ranks of his soldiers and waited for rest, to just attack the next morning. Avoid useless and not left to wear heels of those who fled. That was a time of celebration, of genuine spiritual, moral and emotional recovery. We have losses in this life, but if we start Recovery with divine aid, certainly it will happen. (MJT)

Esperteza / Smart

Esperteza
Leitura bíblica:
_________________

Terminaram a conversa e segui meu caminho.

Days ago I went to the market to buy bread. When I walked in, the owner of the establishment was talking with a client, who commented: "the smart's world!". Ended the conversation and follow my path. I confess that I was thinking about that sentence and meditated about the mentality that there is in this world. Unfortunately most people think that way and it is quite normal people want to take advantage of the other, seeking their own benefit. The word of God gives us clues as to how a person should act to draw near to God. Today's scriptural reading shows two elements necessary to introduce us before God.
In verse 4, the psalmist gives the first clue: the one who is correct in the Act or what is clean of hands. What would do the right thing these days? In school, when it would be so beneficial to paste on the test, or when that desire to "stay" with a girl or a boy? At work, sometimes a little white lie would fall as well, right? But we have to be correct in our Act. God reward us later.
The second track, still in verse 4, says: that which is correct in the Act and clear thinking. Another translation says: pure of heart. The psalmist is talking about not be sinning by thought, for example when you have the opportunity to access certain websites or when you show magazines that you know are not convenient, or when someone is bad and you create so much hatred or rancor that you can't even look at the person. In verse in featured, Jesus says that the pure in heart shall see God! The best option is to walk away from things that are displeasing to God. Do as José when Potiphar's wife wanted to sleep with him: Let's flee!
We approach of God with a straight life, one pure thought, a surrendered heart and integrity in our words! The life with God brings change in attitudes. That God bless us in this quest! (GHS)
This world can even be the smart, but the sky is of the pure in heart!

Quem decide? /

Quem decide?
Leitura bíblica:
_________________

(HM)

Deixar Deus decidir é decidir bem.

Who decides?
Biblical reading:

We must obey God rather than men. (Acts 5.29).

The relationship between parents and children has always been a complicated issue – sometimes justice and obedience have their conflicts.
On one occasion, a boy of 14 years preparing for baptism. On the eve of the festive day, the boy's father, who was not Christian, forbade his son to be baptized. Hurt, the boy came to talk to the pastor, already with its completion established in verse highlighted here.
Calmly, the Minister pointed to the text in Ephesians 6.1 "Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for it is fair." The young man, very clever, replied: "my ' father in the Lord ' is the Lord, pastor. It was by his preaching and his appeal that decided to receive Jesus as my Lord and Savior.  "Well," said the pastor, if you have me as your spiritual father, then advise you to answer the request of his father to physicist not baptize. Say, because, to him, ' father, in obedience to the word of God to obey him and I won't baptize me. Responsibility, however, will be about your life."
The young man was and transferred the responsibility to the father. And this, as did not like much, punished his son, forcing him to read some anti-Christian books. However, was this reading that did grow in the son the confidence in Christ and the conviction of the errors of the religion in which he lived his father. Then started arguing with the father calmly and much love. After a few months, the father agreed not only that the child to be obedient to the commandments of Christ, as attended the baptism. Years after, God called his son to the sacred Ministry. This informed his father about it, which readily agreed and participated in his theological course keep. After graduating and consecrated as a pastor, behold the father also decides in favour of Christ – and now is the son who has the privilege of seeing your father down to the waters of baptism. (HM)
Let God decide is to decide well.
