Você e Deus / You and God

Você e Deus
Leitura bíblica:
_________________

Even when I walk through the Valley of darkness and death, I will fear any danger, for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff protect me (Psalm 23.4)

For years appeared the São Silvestre race an athlete who only had one eye (Tesfaye Jifar-2001), because the other leaked out to 14 years by the horns of a bull. This reminds me of the saying "in the land of the blind, the one-eyed man is King". But in the world of the two eyes, the competition and perfection? Does he have any chance against the thousands of competitors that had a much better view of the runway and obstacles? Apparently, he was the weakest – but was the winner.
So it was with Elijah. He seemed to be at a disadvantage: after all, it was just him and God. It is possible that the people were more inclined to support the 450 prophets of Baal god that a prophet alone. But only seemed, because who is with God is most.
This happens to us too. There will be times when it appears as if you are alone, many people will be opposed, you will be criticized and discredited. But if you are with God, is the most. Each one of those prophets had 449 colleagues, plus the support of the crowd. It was easy to continue on the path under these conditions. But when we look next door and not see anybody but obstacles and the contrary, keep doing the right thing in the eyes of God is not so easy.
No matter what the limitations accompanying you or the size of the challenges to come, because he wants to help you overcome all and reach the end of this year as a victory. Be a servant of God and do as he says. Include you in their plans and life projects and don't forget to invoke his name in the early days of the new year. Is at the beginning of the journey that a person decides which road will invest large amount of steps. Walk in the way with God and you get there. -DW

A person with God is stronger than the crowd without it.

Extensão da caminhada / Extension of the walk

Eles desconsideraram totalmente o texto e a essência do acordo.
(Mateus 23.23). (HDF)

Obedecer a lei é bom; obedecer a essência da lei é melhor.

In the times colonial North America, William Penn was known as a benevolent person for dealing fairly with the native Americans. When he returned to England, their children, who did not share the same integrity, remained there and plotted a scheme to fool an American tribe.
Presented an old contract, in which the Indians had agreed to sell a portion of land that a man could walk in a day and a half. Penn's sons were happy. Employed three fastest runners they found. One of the men ran through one hundred and four miles in eighteen hours. They totally disregarded the text and the essence of the agreement.
In the days of Jesus, the scribes and Pharisees make excuses to violate the essence of the law of God. Jesus demonstrated this practice hypocritical when quoted the commandment of Moses: "...Honor your father and your mother..." (Mark 7.10-13). They were declaring a portion of your winnings as "offering dedicated to God" in order not to use it to take care of their elderly parents.
The Bible is not an instrument to get what you want, but we need to ask God to help us understand his purposes. Let's make sure don't we neglect the "... most important precepts of the law: justice, mercy and faith." (Matthew 23.23). (HDF)

Obey the law is good; obey the essence of the law is better.

Diminua o ritmo e viva / Slow down and live

Diminua o ritmo e viva

(Havner)

Slow down and live

Many of our decisions new year's can, in fact, accelerate our pace of life, instead of helping us to reduce it. The yearning to gain greater productivity and efficiency, we schedule too many activities for the day to day, we make quick meals, drive through impatience and why the Joie de vivre turns away from us.
Carol Odell, who writes an advice column business, says slow down can affect us positively. She believes the rush can cloud our judgment and allow negligenciemos valuable things and people. Carol encourages everyone to slow down and suggests that we consider the red lights at traffic lights and use the waiting time for meditation.
In Psalm 1, there is no hint of a busy life. The author is a person who enjoys the blessing of God, because he thinks, acts and considers the spiritual matters, "... your pleasure is in the law of the Lord, and on his law he meditates day and night" (verse 2). The result is a fruitful life and a soul well fed (verse 3).
Isaiah wrote: "You, Sir, save in perfect peace those whose purpose is firm; because he trusts you "(Isaiah 26.3). Try thinking about this verse whenever you have to wait somewhere. I wonder if isn't it time we all narrow step and live? (DCM)

Relax and get some rest or you can simply collapse. (Havner)
