Ele é bom Leitura bíblica: 2 Crônicas 7.1-10 _________________ [O Senhor] é bom; o seu amor dura para sempre (2 Crônicas 7.3b). _________________

O povo de Israel finalmente concluíra a construção do templo do Senhor. Era um sonho antigo. O rei Davi tinha alimentado esse grande desejo, mas Deus não permitira que ele o realizasse. Seu filho Salomão foi a pessoa escolhida para tão grandioso empreendimento. O templo tinha um significado especial. Ali Deus se faria presente no meio do seu povo. Nele seriam oferecidos sacrifícios pelos pecados dos israelitas. Agora tudo estava pronto, e a dedicação é relatada no texto que você acabou de ler.

É natural que o povo de Israel estivesse feliz nesta ocasião. Afinal, foram muitos anos de trabalho. Mas sua alegria não estava apenas no prédio diante deles. Estavam alegres porque o Senhor se fez presente ali com eles. “A glória do Senhor encheu o templo” (verso 1). Diante da presença do Senhor, não poderiam chegar a outra conclusão que não fosse esta que está no versículo destacado. Ao olhar para o passado era possível lembrar quantas e quantas vezes o povo fora infiel, desobedecendo às orientações de Deus. Somente um Deus bom e com amor que dura para sempre poderia caminhar com um povo tão rebelde e obstinado. Deus estava ali, ele não desistira do seu povo. Ele permaneceu fiel conforme sua promessa.

Se eu olhar para minha vida, para meus pensamentos e os desejos do meu coração, também me surpreendo que Deus seja tão bom comigo e que continue me amando. Em sua Palavra Deus nos diz: “Quem tem os meus mandamentos e lhes obedece, esse é o que me ama” (João 14.21 a). Para ser sincero, preciso afirmar que já os desobedeci inconscientemente e também ciente do que estava fazendo. Já fui infiel a Deus muitas vezes. Mas apesar dos meus erros, Deus continua comigo, assim como estava presente com o povo de Israel. E também no meu caso minha conclusão é uma só: “O Senhor é bom; o seu amor dura para sempre”. (MP)

The people of Israel finally concluded the construction of the Temple of the Lord. It was an old dream. King David had fed this great desire, but God did not allow him to perform. His son Solomon was the person chosen for such grandiose undertaking. The Temple had a special meaning. There God would be present in the midst of his people. It would be offered sacrifices for the sins of the Israelites. Now everything was ready, and the dedication is reported in the text that you just read.

It is natural that the people of Israel were happy on this occasion. After all, there were many years of work. But their joy was not only in the building before them. They were happy because the Lord was present there with them. "The glory of the Lord filled the Temple" (verse 1b). Faced with the presence of the Lord, could reach no other conclusion than this in the verse highlighted. When looking at the past was possible to remember how many and how often people outside infidel, disobeying God guidelines. Only a good God and love that lasts forever could walk with a people so rebellious and obstinate. God was there, he were through his people. He remained faithful as his promise.

If I look at my life, for my thoughts and desires of my heart, also surprised that God is so good to me and you keep loving me. God tells us in his word: "whoever has my commands and obeys them, this is what love me" (John 14.21a). To be honest, I must say that I disobeyed unconsciously and also aware of what he was doing. I have been unfaithful to God many times. But despite my mistakes, God is still with me, and was present with the people of Israel. And also in my case my conclusion is one: "the Lord is good; his love endures forever ". (MP)

While walking with God, you too will experience his goodness and love.

Perdas e ganhos / Losses and gains

Perdas e ganhos Leitura bíblica: Lucas 16.1-12 _________________ Usem a riqueza deste mundo ímpio para ganhar amigos, de forma que, quando ela acabar, estes os recebam nas moradas eternas (Lucas 16.9). _________________

Esta parábola é uma das mais misteriosas entre as que Cristo pronunciou. Sua chave está nas duas últimas palavras do verso 9, ou seja: moradas eternas.

O administrador infiel vivia na ignorância. Esse é o esquema de Satanás. Os homens vivem ignorando, ou até mesmo negando, que haja um amanhã. A maior prova disso é o desespero que toma conta deles quando uma notícia ruim os atinge. Aí apelam a tudo que lhes surge ao alcance.

O personagem central da parábola foi elogiado pelo seu senhor não por sua desonestidade, mas pela sua astúcia. Por outro lado, o administrador desonesto mostra sabedoria no pensar no amanhã. Trata de amealhar pessoas que lhe fiquem devendo um favor na esperança que um dia, no futuro, lembrarem-se de lhe serem gratas.

Jesus compara seus ouvintes com o administrador. Afirma que essa sabedoria deveria ser copiada por eles. Os bens deste mundo não são nossos, mas do Senhor de tudo. Muitos perdem as riquezas eternas por amor a esses bens passageiros. Se usarmos esses bens para promover valores espirituais e conduzir pessoas a Cristo, estas nos serão eternamente gratas.

Seus ouvintes não gostaram do ensino. Logo entenderam que era difícil de praticar. A maioria das pessoas só quer ganhar, e sem preço nenhum. Deus sempre avisou por meio dos seus profetas que não aceita coração dividido. Este texto nos mostra a grandeza da graça divina. A parábola vem logo depois daquela do filho pródigo. O pai do pródigo jamais lamentou o dinheiro perdido. Sua alegria foi ter o filho de volta. O irmão mais velho mencionou a perda da herança material. Deus não nos comprou com dinheiro, mas com o sangue de seu Filho.  Que troca! Entregou o Filho para nos possuir para sempre. (MJT)

Ao contrário dos bens materiais, a riqueza espiritual tem validade eterna.

Losses and gains Bible reading: Lucas 16.1-12 _________________ Use the wealth of this world wicked to win friends, so that, when she's done, these receive in eternal abodes (Luka 16.9). _________________

This parable is the most mysterious among which Christ pronounced. Your key is in the last two words of verse 9, IE: eternal abodes.

The infidel administrator lived in ignorance. This is the schema of Satan. Men are ignoring, or even denying that there is a tomorrow. The best proof of this is the desperation that takes care of them when bad news hit. Then they appeal to all that comes within reach.

The central character of the parable was praised by your Lord not for his dishonesty, but for his cunning. On the other hand, the dishonest Administrator shows wisdom in thinking about tomorrow. Comes to amass people who stay and a favor in the hopes that one day in the future, remember to be grateful.

Jesus compares his listeners with the administrator. Claims that this wisdom should be copied by them. The goods of this world are not ours, but the Lord of all. Many lose their eternal riches out of love for these goods passengers. If we use these assets to promote spiritual values and lead people to Christ, these are us eternally grateful.

His listeners didn't like teaching. Soon understood that it was difficult to practice. Most people just want to win, and without any price. God has always warned through his prophets that does not accept half-hearted. This text shows us the grandeur of divine grace. The parable comes soon after that of the prodigal son. The Prodigal's father ever lamented the lost money. His joy was having his son back. The older brother mentioned the loss of heritage material. God not bought with money, but with the blood of his son. Trading! Handed the Child to possess forever. (MJT)

Unlike material goods, the spiritual richness has eternal validity.

Zero!

Zero! Leitura bíblica: Jó 4.1-11 _________________ Clamo a ti, Senhor, e digo: Tu és o meu refúgio; és tudo o que tenho na terra dos viventes (Salmo 142.5). _________________

Tenta-se ligar o motor do carro e, quando muito, retorna um resmungo sonolento. A bateria descarregou. Bem, então vamos empurrar e fazê-lo “pegar no tranco”. Pode funcionar, mas nem sempre. A bateria precisa ter pelo menos um mínimo de carga para fornecer a ignição inicial. Caso contrário, só com fonte de energia externa.

Se você olhar para os três primeiros capítulos do livro de Jó, que precedem esse da leitura de hoje, descobrirá como Jó sofreu tudo de ruim que podia lhe acontecer: perdeu os bens, depois os filhos e finalmente a saúde. Só sobrou a vida em si e a esposa – e esta, infelizmente, em vez de ajudar, ainda lhe deu um empurrão a mais. Não sobrou nada. A vida de Jó estava completamente “sem carga”.

Nessa situação, aparece o seu amigo Elifaz e tenta fazer Jó “pegar no tranco”: “Lembre-se de tudo o que você já fez de bom”, diz ele. “Vamos, ânimo, mostre seu valor! Deus nunca abandona quem é íntegro! Ah, mas talvez” – isso ele diz nos versículos 17 a 5.9 – “você tenha mesmo cometido uma falta. Então confesse que tudo vai dar certo. Vamos lá, Jó!” E por aí vai.

Mas Jó não consegue. Ele está a zero. Empurrão nenhum vai tirá-lo de lá. Ele não tem mais nada a contribuir. A única solução será uma fonte externa de ânimo. Os últimos capítulos do livro mostram como Jó foi restaurado quando Deus interveio.

Não sei qual é hoje a sua situação, mas o versículo em destaque mostra onde fica a conexão para a fonte que nos recupera quando estamos a zero. E mesmo se a bateria da sua vida espiritual ainda tiver alguma carga, sempre fará bem recarregá-la nessa fonte antes que se esgote completamente. Não tente ser herói nem afunde no buraco: “Deus é o nosso refúgio e a nossa fortaleza, auxílio sempre presente na adversidade” (Salmo 46.1). (RK)

 

Quando não houver mais nada a fazer nem a dizer, Deus ouve até o nosso desânimo.

Zero! Bible reading: Job 4.1-11 _________________ I cry to you, Sir, and say: you are my refuge; you're all I've got in the land of the living (Psalm 142.5). _________________

You try to start the engine of the car and, if anything, returns a grumbling sleepy. The battery died on me. Well, then, Let's push and do it "catch in stride". Might work, but not always. The battery must have at least a minimal charge to provide the initial ignition. Otherwise, only with external power source.

If you look at the first three chapters of the book of job, which precede this reading today, find out how Job suffered everything bad that could happen to you: lost the goods, then the children and finally the health. All that's left is life itself and his wife – and this, unfortunately, instead of helping, still gave him a push over. There's nothing left. The life of job was completely "no load".

In this situation, your friend Eliphaz appears and tries to do Job "take in stride": "remember everything you've done good," he says. "Come on, cheer up, show your value! God never abandons who is healthy! Ah, but maybe "– that he says in verses 17 to 5.9 –" you have committed a foul. Then confess that everything will be all right. Come on, job! " And so on and so forth.

But Job fails. He is zero. Push any will get him out of there. He has nothing else to contribute. The only solution is an external source of encouragement. The last chapters of the book show how Job was restored when God intervened.

I don't know your situation, but today the verse highlighted shows where is the connection to the source that retrieves when we are zero. And even if the battery of your spiritual life still has some charge, always do well recharge it on this source before it runs out completely. Don't try to be a hero or sink in the hole: "God is our refuge and our strength, always present aid in adversity" (Psalm 46.1). (RK)

When there is nothing else to do or say, God listens to our dismay.

Mensagem / Message

Mensagem Leitura bíblica: Ezequiel 1.1-3; 2.3-8 _________________ João viu Jesus aproximando-se e disse: “Vejam! É o Cordeiro de Deus, que tira o pecado do mundo!” (João 1.29)  _________________

O livro de Ezequiel contém uma forte mensagem condenatória, mas também de esperança. Os israelitas tinham sido presos e levados para uma nação estrangeira. Mas Deus não os havia abandonado, como muitos podiam pensar. Ezequiel contemplou uma visão celestial, recebeu sua missão e a certeza de que sua vida faria diferença: “aquela nação... saberá que um profeta esteve no meio dela” (2.5). Mas para isso ele tinha de ser obediente.
Aplicando o texto em nossas vidas, façamos a seguinte pergunta: será que as pessoas que me cercam dirão algum dia que um filho de Deus esteve entre elas? Ou seja, será que todos percebem se pertenço a Deus e tenho colaborado para a expansão de seu Reino?

Vamos imaginar o cenário do texto de hoje: um rio, exilados reunidos com saudades de sua pátria e sabendo que até seu rei era prisioneiro naquela terra estranha. Que quadro triste! Mas entre eles havia um homem sobre o qual estava a mão do Senhor. Ezequiel tinha sido escolhido para lembrar aos israelitas o quanto tinham andado longe de Deus e também lhes dar esperança: após certo tempo, seriam restaurados.

Agora olhe ao seu redor: nosso cenário diário não é muito animador – todo dia recebemos notícias sobre tragédias, doenças, guerras, corrupção... Mas, se somos cristãos, temos uma poderosa mensagem para nossos contemporâneos. Ah, você sempre pensou que era um “João Ninguém”? Pois saiba: sua conduta e suas palavras podem levar essa geração rebelde e decaída a viver com Deus agora e na eternidade. Porém, só podemos falar de Jesus se já o conhecemos. Façamos como João Batista: mostremos às pessoas quem é Cristo e o que ele fez por nós (veja o versículo em destaque). E, como Ezequiel, sejamos obedientes levando aos outros a mensagem divina – de condenação a tudo o que desagrada a Deus, mas também de esperança de vida nova e eterna com ele! (MJT)

Message Bible reading: Ezekiel 1.1-3; 2.3-8 _________________ John saw Jesus approaching and said: ' look! Is the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world! " (John 1.29) _________________

The book of Ezekiel contains a strong condemnatory message, but also of hope. The Israelis had been arrested and taken to a foreign nation. But God had abandoned them, as many might think. Ezekiel contemplated a heavenly vision, received his mission and the certainty that his life would make a difference: "one nation ... will know that a prophet has been in the middle of it" (2.5). But to do that he had to be obedient.
Applying the text in our lives, let's make the following question: will the people who surround me say someday that a son of God was between them? Namely, does everyone realize if I belong to God and have collaborated for the expansion of his Kingdom?

Let's imagine the scenario of today's text: a river, exiles gathered missing his homeland and knowing that their King was a prisoner in that strange land. That sad picture indeed! But among them there was a man that was the hand of the Lord. Ezekiel had been chosen to remind the Israelites how had walked away from God and also give them hope: after a certain time, be restored.

Now look around you: our daily scenario is not very encouraging – every day we receive news about tragedies, diseases, wars, corruption ... But, if we are Christians, we have a powerful message to our contemporaries. Oh, you always thought it was a "John Doe"? As it known: his conduct and his words can lead this generation rebel and decadent living with God now and in eternity. However, we can only speak of Jesus if we already know each other. Do as John the Baptist: show people who Christ is and what he has done for us (see verse headlines). And, as Ezekiel, let us be obedient taking others the divine message – of condemnation to everything which displeases God, but also of new and eternal life with him! (MJT)

The Christian message is very important to be guarded in our mind. Our mission is to spread it to everyone!

Celebração / Celebration

Celebração Leitura bíblica: Êxodo 12.1-14 _________________ Este dia será um memorial que vocês e todos os seus descendentes celebrarão como festa ao Senhor. Celebrem-no como decreto perpétuo (Êxodo 12.14). _________________

Que bom que as comemorações em família ainda aconteçam! Uma delas foi instituída no texto de hoje, quando os israelitas se prepararam para deixar a escravidão no Egito. Eles foram libertados pela intervenção de Deus. Este é um fato histórico! Deus demonstrou seu poder na ocasião e também no decorrer dos séculos. Em outra Páscoa, Jesus Cristo morreu numa cruz e depois ressuscitou, vencendo a morte. Ele deu novo sentido àquela celebração e também instituiu a Ceia do Senhor: em todos os tempos, cristãos comemoram aquele incomparável sacrifício até que Jesus volte (1 Coríntios 11.26). O mesmo Jesus Cristo que morreu por nós naquela ocasião hoje ainda concede vida eterna aos que crerem nele.

Podemos ver também que aquela primeira Páscoa foi celebrada pelas famílias, incluindo até o compartilhamento do alimento entre elas (verso 4). O Novo Testamento refere-se à igreja como família de Deus (Efésios 2.19). Porém, muitas pessoas se isolam, como se estivessem separadas por paredes invisíveis, e não se percebe a existência de um relacionamento saudável sequer na adoração, muito menos que formem uma só família em Cristo. É assim em sua vida? Espero que não! Mas se porventura este for o seu caso, ore ao Senhor pedindo que ele mostre o que fazer para desenvolver um bom convívio com os outros, de maneira que ele se torne cada vez mais íntimo e caloroso por meio do amor mútuo (Filipenses 1.9).

Além de ser em família, a celebração incluía a necessidade de se estar alerta, pronto para viajar a qualquer momento. O sentido de urgência estava bem claro para aqueles israelitas. De igual modo, milhares de anos depois, hoje a volta de Jesus Cristo está cada vez mais próxima. O cristão deve estar pronto, esperando seu Senhor (Mateus 24.42-44). Que ele nos encontre em paz com Deus e com aqueles que nos cercam! (EOL)
 

Comemoramos o que Cristo já fez na expectativa do que ele ainda fará.

Celebration Bible reading: Exodus 12.1-14 _________________ This day will be a memorial that you and all his descendants shall conclude as party to the Lord. Celebrate it as a perpetual Decree (Exodus 12.14). _________________

I'm glad the celebrations in family still happen! One of them was established in the text of today, when the Israelites set out to leave the slavery in Egypt. They were freed by the intervention of God. This is a historical fact. God demonstrated his power on occasion and also over the centuries. In another Easter, Jesus Christ died on a cross and then rose again, defeating death. He gave new meaning to that conclusion and also instituted the Lord's Supper: at all times, Christians celebrate the unparalleled sacrifice until Jesus comes back (1 Corinthians 11.26). The same Jesus Christ who died for us on that occasion today still grants eternal life to those who believe in him.

We can also see that first Easter was celebrated by families, including even the food sharing among them (verse 4). The New Testament refers to the Church as the family of God (Ephesians 2.19). However, many people are isolated, as if they were separated by invisible walls, and no one realizes the existence of a healthy relationship even in worship, much less to form one family in Christ. It's like that in your life? I hope not! But if this is your case, pray to the Lord asking him to show me what to do to develop a good coexistence with others, so that it becomes increasingly intimate and warm through the mutual love (Philippians 1.9).

Besides being in family, the celebration included the need to be alert, ready to travel at any time. The sense of urgency was clear for those Israelis. Similarly, thousands of years later, today the return of Jesus Christ is ever closer. The Christian must be ready, waiting for his Lord (Matthew 24.42-44). He finds us in peace with God and with those around us! (EOL)

Celebrate what Christ has already done in the expectation that he will.
