Lembre! Leitura bíblica: Deuteronômio 8.6-18 _________________ Não digam em seu coração: A minha capacidade e a força das minhas mãos ajuntaram para mim toda esta riqueza (Deuteronômio 8.17). _________________

Parece que o ser humano tem uma grande inclinação para se esquecer de Deus. Muitos não se lembram mais dele após ter comido de tudo e estar de barriga cheia, realizar o sonho da casa própria ou comprar um bom carro, ter conseguido passar no vestibular e concluir uma faculdade, conquistar aquele emprego tão desejado e receber uma promoção. Para tais pessoas, quando já possuem um excelente plano de saúde e uma boa quantia de dinheiro no banco, Deus deixou de ser necessário e não há mais assunto para tratar com ele. Perderam o temor a Deus e a noção do que realmente é importante. Esqueceram que Deus os guiou no meio dos desertos, dificuldades e incertezas. Que não só de pão viverá o ser humano, mas de tudo o que Deus diz na sua Palavra (verso 3).

Devido a esta tendência humana, expressa no texto de hoje, precisamos tomar cuidado para não pensarmos que somos muito fortes, muito bons. Jamais digamos: “Eu sozinho consegui isso!” Essa afirmação é uma grande tolice. Quem foi que criou a vida, permitiu que nascêssemos, nos protegeu da morte em cada dia da nossa existência, nos deu forças, nos rodeou de familiares e amigos e continua a mandar sol e chuva? Ah! É claro! Todos precisam destas coisas! Mas corremos o risco de achar que não precisamos – como se fosse possível decidir nascer e sozinho vir ao mundo, decidir viver e não precisar da ajuda de ninguém, de família, de sol, de chuva, de cuidados, de Deus.

Que Deus nos livre de pensar assim! Antes, digamos o quanto somos gratos por termos sido por ele criados, vestidos, alimentados, curados, protegidos, amparados, amados, perdoados. É Deus que fortalece as nossas mãos para que possamos trabalhar, obter nosso sustento e alcançar nossos objetivos. Que somente ele seja louvado! (DW)

It seems that the human being has a great inclination to forget God. Many don't remember him more after eating everything and be on a full stomach, fulfill the dream of home ownership or buy a nice car, being able to pass the entrance exam and complete a College, win that job as desired and receive a promotion. To such people, when you have an excellent health insurance and a good amount of money in the Bank, God is no longer necessary and is no longer subject to treat with him. Have lost the fear of God and realize what really is important. They forgot that God guided them in the middle of deserts, difficulties and uncertainties. That does not live by bread alone, but of all human being what God says in his word (verse 3).

Due to this human tendency, expressed in the text today, we need to be careful not to think that we are very strong, very good. Ever say: "I alone got it!" This statement is a great nonsense. Who created life, allowed you came up againstsomething, protected us from death in every day of our existence, gave us forces, us surrounded by family and friends and continues to send Sun and rain? Ah! Of course! Everyone needs these things! But we run the risk of thinking you don't need – as if it were possible to decide to be born and come into the world alone, decide to live and you don't need anyone's help, family, Sun, rain, of care, of God.

That God forbid to think so! Before, say how grateful we are to have been created by him, clothed, fed, cured, protected, supported, loved, forgiven. It is God that strengthens our hands so we can work, get our livelihood and achieve our goals. That only he be praised! (DW)

Pernilongo / Black-Winged Stilt

Pernilongo Leitura bíblica: Gálatas 5.16-25 _________________ Se vivemos pelo Espírito, andemos também pelo Espírito (Gálatas 5.25) _________________

Uma das coisas mais irritantes que há é um pernilongo zumbindo no ouvido e perguntando: “Tá dormiiiiiiindo?” Então você levanta, liga a luz e vai à caça dele. Algumas vezes você o vê e consegue matá-lo, mas em outras ele consegue escapar. Pior é quando você o encontra na manhã seguinte, todo gordinho, cheio do seu sangue. Aí você o mata e ainda precisa limpar a sujeira que o sangue deixou na parede.

Estamos passando um momento em que há muitos pernilongos na cidade onde moramos. Para evitar que eles entrem em casa, você precisa mantê-la toda fechada. Isto não é nada agradável no verão. Portanto, uma das maneiras de amenizar este problema é colocar a tela-mosquiteiro nas janelas e portas, tentando assim evitar que os bichos entrem. Fizemos isto em nossa casa, e o que tenho percebido é que eles continuam tentando entrar. Eles aproveitam qualquer brecha que surge, entram e voltam a incomodar.

Isto me faz refletir sobre a nossa vida espiritual. O diabo é o príncipe, isto é, o dominador deste mundo (João 14.30). Nós vivemos no mundo, isto é, em território inimigo. Além disso, 1 Pedro 5.8 afirma que o diabo é o nosso adversário e que ele fica nos cercando em busca de alguém para devorar. Ainda temos nossa carne (nosso ego) e o mundo (sistema do mal, que usa suas atrações para tentar nos afastar de Deus) como nossos inimigos. Cada um deles procura uma chance de nos atacar e derrubar espiritualmente. Eles estão sempre à espreita, esperando uma brecha.

O que fazer para nos protegermos deles? O texto de hoje dá o princípio para lutar contra a carne, mas ele também serve para lutar contra os nossos outros inimigos. Como o texto diz, devemos viver e andar no Espírito. É preciso permitir que o Espírito Santo nos encha cada vez mais (Efésios 5.18). Como? Por meio da leitura da Bíblia, oração, jejum, comunhão constante com Deus e de fugir do pecado. (HK)

Só o Espírito Santo em nós é capaz de controlar nossos impulsos e desejos humanos.

Black-Winged Stilt Bible reading: Galatians 5.16-25 _________________ If we live by the spirit, let us also walk by the spirit (Galatians 5.25) _________________

One of the things what's most annoying is a leggy buzzing in your ear and asking: "are you sleepiiiiing?" Then you get up, turn on the light and goes hunting him. Sometimes you see him and manages to kill him, but in others he manages to escape. Worse is when you find the next morning, all chubby, full of your blood. Then you kill and still need to clean up the mess that the blood left on the wall.

We're going through a time when there are many mosquitoes in the city where we live. To prevent them from coming into the House, you need to keep it closed. This is not nothing nice in the summer. Therefore, one of the ways to alleviate this problem is to put the screen-mosquito net on the Windows and doors, trying to avoid that the bugs from entering. We did this at our House, and what I have noticed is that they keep trying to get in. They take advantage of any loophole that comes up, enter and disturb.

This makes me reflect about our spiritual life. The devil is the Prince, that is, the Dominator of the world (John 14.30). We live in the world, i.e. in enemy territory. In addition, 1 Pedro 5.8 claims that the devil is our opponent and he is surrounding us in search of someone to devour. We still have our flesh (our ego) and the world (the evil system, which uses its attractions to tempt us away from God) as our enemies. Each one of them looking for a chance to attack us and take down spiritually. They are always lurking, waiting for an opening.

What to do to protect ourselves from them? The text of today gives the principle to fight against the flesh, but it also serves to fight against our other enemies. As the text says, we must live and walk in the spirit. We must allow the Holy Spirit to fill increasingly (Ephesians 5.18). How? Through Bible reading, prayer, fasting, constant communion with God and to flee from sin. (HK)

Only the Holy Spirit in us is able to control our impulses and human desires.

Três dobras / Three folds

Três dobras Leitura bíblica: Eclesiastes 4.9-12 _________________ O cordão de três dobras não se rebenta com facilidade (Eclesiastes 4.12). _________________

O contexto bíblico nos encaminha a não vivermos sós, mas em sociedade. O salmista comenta que é bom os irmãos viverem em união (Salmo 133.1), sendo que a palavra irmão é empregada não só em relação aos irmãos biológicos, mas também em relação a pessoas da mesma fé. Os cônjuges também são tratados como irmãos: “Se dormirem juntos, vão manter-se aquecidos”. O texto de hoje aconselha união porque, se um parceiro cair, o outro o ajuda a se levantar, e se alguém quiser prevalecer contra um, os dois lhe resistirão.

Mas, o mais importante é a menção de um cordão de três dobras. Quem é esse terceiro elemento? De onde surgiu ele? Pregadores da Palavra de Deus sempre concluem que esse terceiro elemento é Deus, com o que concordamos. Um casal, marido e esposa, ou dois parentes, irmãos se de fato forem cristãos, terão sempre a presença do Deus Altíssimo entre eles. Jesus disse que, onde houver dois ou três reunidos em nome dele (Mateus 18.20), ele estará presente. Com a segurança que temos de que o Senhor Jesus está entre nós, conosco, em nós, podemos viver tranquilos: nossa união, nossa comunhão com o próximo estará garantida, pois um dos dois pode quebrar (cair), mas com o outro, estando forte no Senhor Jesus, podemos contar a vitória como certa.

Aos que vivem sob a direção dele, o Senhor Jesus afirma que, se dois concordarem a respeito de qualquer coisa que decidam pedir, esta lhes será concedida por Deus (Mateus 18.19). Daí tais orações conjuntas serem sempre boas além daquelas que Jesus orientou fazermos em secreto, intimamente, que nosso Pai conhece e recompensará (Mateus 6.6).

Sim, além dessa busca do Senhor em secreto, devemos sempre orar em conjunto, em companhia de um irmão comprometido espiritualmente com o Senhor Jesus. Procuremos, pois, com os nossos familiares e amigos, orar sem cessar (1 Tessalonicenses 5.17). (ETA)
 

A comunhão dos cristãos é um grande presente de Deus.

Three folds Bible reading: Ecclesiastes 4.9-12 _________________ The three fold cord is not easily blows (Ecclesiastes 4.12). _________________

The biblical context in the forwards the not alone but in society. The psalmist says that is good the brothers live in Unity (Psalm 133.1), being that the word brother is employed not only in relation to biological brothers, but also in relation to people of the same faith. But, the most important is the mention of a cord of three folds. Who is this third element? Where did he? Preachers of the word of God always conclude that this third element is God, with which we agree. A couple, husband and wife, or two relatives, brothers, if indeed they are Christians, you're always going to have the presence of God Almighty among them. Jesus said that, where there are two or three gathered together in his name (Mathews 18.20), he will be present. With the security that we have that the Lord Jesus is among us, with us, in us, we can live quiet: our Union, our communion with the next will be guaranteed, because one of the two can break (fall), but with each other, being strong in the Lord Jesus, we can count the victory for granted.

Those who live under his direction, the Lord Jesus says that if two agree about anything they decide to ask, it shall be granted by God (Mathews 18.19). Hence such joint prayers are always good beyond those that Jesus directed us in secret, intimately, that our Father knows and will reward (Mathews 6.6).

Yes, in addition to this quest for the Lord in secret, we must always pray together, in the company of a brother compromised spiritually with the Lord Jesus. Let us, therefore, with our family and friends, pray without ceasing (1 Thessalonians 5.17). (ETA)

Vou pecar / I'm going to Sin

Vou pecar Leitura bíblica: Isaías 59.1-8 _________________ Então reconheci diante de ti o meu pecado e não encobri as minhas culpas. Eu disse: Confessarei as minhas transgressões ao Senhor, e tu perdoaste a culpa do meu pecado (Salmo 32.5). _________________

Parece que nos acostumamos com o pecado a ponto de programar nossa confissão antes mesmo de pecar. Conta-se que um homem saiu no final de semana para viajar. Chegando ao destino, uma cidade turística muito conhecida por oferecer todo tipo de atrações e pecados, ligou para o pastor da igreja local para perguntar a que horas era o culto no domingo à noite. O pastor, muito educado, informou o horário e elogiou o rapaz, dizendo que não era comum as pessoas que passavam por ali separarem um tempo para ir à igreja. Para a surpresa do pastor, o rapaz respondeu: “Vim para cá para festejar, beber, sair com mulheres. Se eu conseguir fazer metade do que desejo, vou precisar muito de uma igreja”.

É preciso reconhecer os nossos erros de maneira correta. Pecado é o amor a si mesmo e aos seus prazeres em detrimento de Deus e de sua vontade. A leitura de hoje mostra que Deus está de braços abertos para nos receber, mas nosso pecado constrói uma muralha que nos separa dele. Felizmente essa muralha não é intransponível: se reconhecermos esses pecados e os confessarmos, Deus os perdoa e remove (veja o versículo em destaque)!

Confessar os pecados com sinceridade prepara nosso coração para o encontro com o Senhor. O escritor Max Lucado diz: “A confissão faz para a alma o mesmo que o preparo da terra faz para a plantação. Antes de lançar as sementes, o agricultor trabalha a terra, removendo pedras e arrancando tocos. Ele sabe que a semente se desenvolverá melhor se a terra for preparada... A semente de Deus se desenvolverá melhor se o solo do coração estiver limpo”.

Cuide de alimentar-se da Palavra de Deus e praticar os seus ensinos. Assim descobrirá a alegria do arrependimento em contraste com a prisão e falta de paz que o pecado causa. (HSG)

É preciso buscar a confissão sincera que vem de um coração arrependido.

It seems that we have become accustomed with sin about to schedule our confession even before sin. It is said that a man came out over the weekend to travel. Arriving at their destination, a tourist town widely known for offering all kinds of attractions and sins, called the pastor of the local church to ask what time was the cult on Sunday night. The pastor, very polite, informed the time and praised the boy, saying that was not common people who passed by there split up some time to go to church. To the surprise of the pastor, the boy replied, "I came here to party, drink, go out with women. If I can do half of what you desire, I will need a church. "

We must recognize our errors correctly. Sin is the love of self and its pleasures to the detriment of God and of his will. Reading today shows that God is with open arms to greet us, but our sin constructs a wall that separates us from him. Fortunately this wall is not insurmountable: If we recognize these sins and confess, God forgives and removes (see verse headlines).

Confess the sins with sincerity prepares our hearts to the encounter with the Lord. The writer Max Lucado says: "the confession does for the soul the same as preparing the ground for planting. Before releasing the seeds, the farmer works the land, removing rocks and pulling out stumps. He knows that the seed will develop best if the ground is prepared ... The seed of God will develop best if the soil of my heart is clean ".

Take care to feed the word of God and practise their teachings. So discover the joy of repentance in contrast with the arrest and lack of peace that sin causes. (HSG)

We must get honest confession that comes from a repentant heart.

Ele é bom / He is good

Ele é bom Leitura bíblica: 2 Crônicas 7.1-10 _________________ [O Senhor] é bom; o seu amor dura para sempre (2 Crônicas 7.3b). _________________

O povo de Israel finalmente concluíra a construção do templo do Senhor. Era um sonho antigo. O rei Davi tinha alimentado esse grande desejo, mas Deus não permitira que ele o realizasse. Seu filho Salomão foi a pessoa escolhida para tão grandioso empreendimento. O templo tinha um significado especial. Ali Deus se faria presente no meio do seu povo. Nele seriam oferecidos sacrifícios pelos pecados dos israelitas. Agora tudo estava pronto, e a dedicação é relatada no texto que você acabou de ler.

É natural que o povo de Israel estivesse feliz nesta ocasião. Afinal, foram muitos anos de trabalho. Mas sua alegria não estava apenas no prédio diante deles. Estavam alegres porque o Senhor se fez presente ali com eles. “A glória do Senhor encheu o templo” (verso 1). Diante da presença do Senhor, não poderiam chegar a outra conclusão que não fosse esta que está no versículo destacado. Ao olhar para o passado era possível lembrar quantas e quantas vezes o povo fora infiel, desobedecendo às orientações de Deus. Somente um Deus bom e com amor que dura para sempre poderia caminhar com um povo tão rebelde e obstinado. Deus estava ali, ele não desistira do seu povo. Ele permaneceu fiel conforme sua promessa.

Se eu olhar para minha vida, para meus pensamentos e os desejos do meu coração, também me surpreendo que Deus seja tão bom comigo e que continue me amando. Em sua Palavra Deus nos diz: “Quem tem os meus mandamentos e lhes obedece, esse é o que me ama” (João 14.21 a). Para ser sincero, preciso afirmar que já os desobedeci inconscientemente e também ciente do que estava fazendo. Já fui infiel a Deus muitas vezes. Mas apesar dos meus erros, Deus continua comigo, assim como estava presente com o povo de Israel. E também no meu caso minha conclusão é uma só: “O Senhor é bom; o seu amor dura para sempre”. (MP)

Ao andar com Deus, você também experimentará a sua bondade e amor.

He is good Bible reading: 2 Chronicles 7.1-10 _________________ [The Lord] is good; his love lasts forever (2 Chronicles 7.3 (b)). _________________

The people of Israel finally concluded the construction of the Temple of the Lord. It was an old dream. King David had fed this great desire, but God did not allow him to perform. His son Solomon was the person chosen for such grandiose undertaking. The Temple had a special meaning. There God would be present in the midst of his people. It would be offered sacrifices for the sins of the Israelites. Now everything was ready, and the dedication is reported in the text that you just read.

It is natural that the people of Israel were happy on this occasion. After all, there were many years of work. But their joy was not only in the building before them. They were happy because the Lord was present there with them. "The glory of the Lord filled the Temple" (verse 1b). Faced with the presence of the Lord, could reach no other conclusion than this in the verse highlighted. When looking at the past was possible to remember how many and how often people outside infidel, disobeying God guidelines. Only a good God and love that lasts forever could walk with a people so rebellious and obstinate. God was there, he were through his people. He remained faithful as his promise.

If I look at my life, for my thoughts and desires of my heart, also surprised that God is so good to me and you keep loving me. God tells us in his word: "whoever has my commands and obeys them, this is what love me" (John 14.21a). To be honest, I must say that I disobeyed unconsciously and also aware of what he was doing. I have been unfaithful to God many times. But despite my mistakes, God is still with me, and was present with the people of Israel. And also in my case my conclusion is one: "the Lord is good; his love endures forever ". (MP)
