Ressurreição / Resurrection

Ressurreição
Leitura bíblica:
_________________

Resurrection
Bible reading:
_________________
They had not understood that, according to Scripture, it was necessary that Jesus rise from the dead (John 20.9).
_________________
At the beginning of John 20, as at the end of each Gospel is reported, the resurrection of Jesus Christ, who died on a cross for our sin. All the evangelists narrate the fact, but John adds a small, but extremely important, information: "it was necessary that Jesus rise from the dead".
Let's think a bit about this statement. Why was it necessary for the resurrection of Jesus? What is the importance of this fact for Christianity? And if she hadn't happened?
Firstly, the resurrection was required to abide by the Scriptures (Luke 24.25-27). Isaiah had prophesied that the Messiah, after the suffering of his soul, see again the light (Isaiah 53.10). The Psalms also allude to this truth (Psalm 16.10). Jesus himself stated that he would be resurrected after three days (John 2.19-22; Matthew 16.21).
Secondly, the resurrection was needed because it is fundamental to Christianity. According to the Apostle Paul, if Christ hadn't risen would be useless to our preaching, as well as our faith (1 Corinthians 15.12-19).
Thirdly, the resurrection was necessary because the victory over sin (Hebrews 9.28), about the powers of darkness (Ephesians 1.20 .21) and death (2 Timothy 1.10). If Christ won to death, nothing else could stop him.
Finally, the resurrection was needed because is the guarantee of our future resurrection. Paul makes this clear when he says that "he who raised the Lord Jesus from the dead, we will rise again" (2 Corinthians 4.14).
Women and the disciples had the privilege of being the first to know of the resurrection of Christ on that Sunday morning, almost 2,000 years ago. You and I are privileged because, after so many years, we can enjoy the benefits that it brings us even today.

Páscoa Diferente / Easter Different

Páscoa Diferente
Leitura bíblica:
_________________
Deus enxerga e ouve o nosso coração e a nossa mente.

Easter Different
Bible reading:

He even took our sins in his body on the tree, in order to die for our sins and live for righteousness; by his wounds you were healed (1 Peter 2.24).

We are facing another Easter. And I ask you: is this just another weekend with their appropriate commemorations, or will a different Easter? Just another weekend to travel, for a family reunion? Maybe you're in rush to organize this meeting, buy chocolate eggs and prepare everything for meals of tomorrow. Who you know is planning to attend a special programming in any church, Club or other institution. Maybe also by tradition you go watch a play or film about the story of Jesus Christ. All this is good and can be done, but knew that his Easter can be different? But different?
If to you until today the arrest of Jesus, his death and his resurrection of a myth, know that actually deal with facts that can transform your life. Jesus Christ died on the cross for your and my sake (review the key verse).
Our selfishness and arrogance keep us from God and lead us to make anger him in everything we do. The only way to have peace with God again is to repent and ask forgiveness for these sins – and Jesus died for us to give us this chance. To have a really different Easter, simply receive Jesus Christ into your life as Saviour and Lord, becoming a follower of him. This does not require special words or rituals.
God sees and hears our hearts and our minds. If you are willing to open up to him, he will come into your life and change it definitely for the better. My Easter is different for many years! And yours?

Happy Easter!

Destaque
Leitura bíblica:
_________________

No shortage among us are people who want to stand out in your desktop or religious. Celebrities do everything they can to promote its image and prestige in magazines, on TV or on the internet: expose your body, gossip, say they have a new sexual orientation and many other things. And, unfortunately, still others reach the extreme of appeal for criminal acts in order to call attention to itself. On the other hand, many people stand out for their efficiency or competence. And there are those who "pull the rug" from others just to keep the position of them and forget they can also lose his place at any time.
In the text read today, Jesus was being judged unfairly and was so humble that even disputed this fact. When he was being questioned by the high priest Annas, one of the guards hit his face. I guess he wanted to "show up" before Annas and every gift, claiming that that was not the proper way to speak to the high priest. But Jesus had insulted the religious authority, as it was forbidden. He said the guard with a question, as the verse 23.
With those words I believe you touched the intimate that officer. Jesus is the only one who knows us deeply. In addition to not retaliate, Jesus told him the truth. Also in this episode we see that God's son sought to not stand out for selfish reasons, at the same time highlighted by its teaching and unusual way of life.
We can take great lessons of this fact. The leader in church or at work you need to stay calm and not lose control, matter the affront. In addition, should expect the acting of God. Turning the other cheek (Matthew 5.39) it's not just leave the other beat again, but instead of revenge, show love. (ETS)

A life with God is a precious jewel; the prestige in the world, a vulgar jewellery.

Agentes secretos / Secret agents

Agentes secretos
Leitura bíblica:
_________________

Secret agents
Bible reading:
_________________
Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were making his appeal through us (2 Corinthians 5.20a).
_________________
The early hours of Friday. Jesus was being conducted, arrested, to be questioned by the high priest Caiaphas. Peter followed him from afar, sitting among the employees in the courtyard of the House of Caiaphas, to see the end of everything (Matthew 26.57-58). Has been recognized three times as a disciple of Jesus, but vehemently denied. When the Rooster finally sang, Pedro sobered and wept bitterly.
In the materialistic and selfish world we live in, some people be afraid to reveal themselves as Christian, fearing being ridiculed, persecuted, discriminated against, dismissed from employment, rejected by family members and, depending on the country where more, imprisoned and even killed.
The featured verse shows that God uses us as his ambassadors to spread the message of the Gospel. How many of our friends, neighbors, co-workers or college knows that we are Christians? Our speech and our subjects reveal that? Or anything we demonstrate, acting like secret agents? You must free itself of this syndrome of Pedro: after all, we are ambassadors for Christ to proclaim the greatness of him who called us out of darkness into his marvellous light (1 Peter 2.9 b).
An Ambassador defends the interests of his country. As Christians, we have a responsibility to defend the interests of the Kingdom of God and announcing his message to an increasingly distant from him. God doesn't want us to be secret agents. He did not give us a spirit of cowardice, but of love, power and balance (2 Timothy 1.7).
As witnesses of Jesus, were summoned to announce their message. Leave the four walls of our shyness and fulfill our role as disciples. "Woe to me if I don't preach the Gospel!" (1 Corinthians 9.16 b) (MNL)

An Ambassador is a public figure – never be able to do its job if no one knows who he is.

Mentira / Lie

Mentira
Leitura bíblica:
_________________

Lie
Bible reading:
_________________
A false witness shall not be unpunished, and he who pours out lies free (Proverbs 19.5).
_________________
How to behave the children of light? You just read some answers to that question indicated in the text for reading. However, I want to highlight one of those recommendations of the Apostle Paul, who is leaving the lie. I want to motivate you to find Bible verses related to the topic. I leave some to simplify your search: Leviticus 19.11 b.; Psalm 5.6; Psalm 101.7; Psalm 119,163; Colossians 3.9; Apocalypse 22.15. If you read some of them, must have realized that express convictions for those who practice the lie.
The lie begins in some cases way too subtle. Someone doesn't like someone else, be it by your way or way of doing things, and begins to talk to others about that individual. The conversations are multiplying and when least understands raised if many lies, that end up making a big mess. Even if there is repentance, much destroyed by a lie does not return to normal.
A lady told lies about the pastor of his community. This attitude has affected many people, which ended up moving away, because they believed in the conversation. After a certain time, you repented of lies and confessed. The pastor forgave her, but gave her a small task: asked to come up to the top of the Tower of the Church spilled out a bag of feathers and then take. She then replied that it would be impossible to collect all the feathers, because they would be wind-borne. To what the pastor said to him: "your lies, though acknowledged and forgiven, caused an irreparable harm".
The lie not only harms human relationships, but us away from God. The lie is an attitude that comes to exclude the person from the Kingdom of God (Revelation 22.15). If you have the habit of lying, abandon it. The lie is not part of the procedure of the sons of God. (MP)

A lie repeated often seem true for many, but for God continues to lie.
