Nas teias / In the Webs

Nas teias
Leitura bíblica:
_________________
2 - Encontre a sabedoria.

When we passed a road little used, sometimes feel some cobwebs sticking in our body. Our tendency is to quickly pull the wires with your fingers that you barely see, trying to get rid of that obstacle. We can even complain of webs, but rarely remember that your wires are stronger than steel wires of diameter. The spider is able to resist the rain, the cold and heat and also is extremely elastic.
Daily we passed, we found people and we are faced with situations that most often are seen as barriers and problems. Unfortunately, it is common to have a negative view of life and the events. It's easier to complain about the Sun's heat than thinking about light that he gives us, or be angry with someone pointing our mistakes instead of valuing him for having the courage to tell the truth about us.
Some people or situations can look like spider webs that compel us to take a little break on the way. When this happens, more than disentangle ourselves quickly of them, we should reflect on why this is happening and how we should act. The text today helps us to find the answer:
1-do not despise the discipline . Don't waste the teaching that life and the situations can give us. The problems do not appear to bring us down, but to strengthen us. We must not live running them, but learn from the difficulties.
2- Find the wisdom . Choose the wisest decision in each situation. This, in most cases, will not be the easiest to see, but it will bring better results.
We can, guided by God and his Word, win the bad days, knocking down the walls who want to stop us from proceeding. We aren't held by small "cobwebs", for stronger and more resilient than they are!

Satisfação / Satisfaction

Satisfação
Leitura bíblica:
_________________

The pity with contentment is great source of profit (1 Timothy 6.6).

This letter of the Apostle Paul addresses a problem that continues today: the fact that some people consider that religiosity, or spirituality, can be used for material gain. Others there are who believe that the Christian life is a waste of time. However, the opposite is that it is true, as I read once in a sticker on a car glass: "I don't have time for God is a waste of time".
The aim of the human being is happiness, often at any cost. This search becomes the maximum goal of life, but the demand is only evidence that it is impossible to catch up with our own effort.
Paul points to the secret of success in this quest: make do on Christian piety, which is devotion and love to God.
Base happiness in material wealth is a waste of time and waste of resources. More than that: the v 9 shows that the desire to get rich in fact leads to ruin, because the ambition makes a person vulnerable to traps and personal disarray. At birth, we have nothing. We need very little to live for, and even that is left behind when we die. So, it makes no sense to focus the search for happiness in things that are fleeting. Is much more "profitable" to cultivate Christian piety, which provides true happiness and contentment.
Jesus also taught that to talk to his disciples about the concern and anxiety in daily life (see Matthew 6.25-34). Your guidance was: "don't worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Just about every day your own evil "(v. 34). The secret of contentment is to seek the God before anything else. He gives us what we need, and therefore we can live happy and satisfied.
If you've found happiness with God, then you know how it is precious. If not, be sure to talk with God. He is ready to help you, always!

Olhar adiante / Look ahead

Olhar adiante
Leitura bíblica:
_________________
Vale a pena.

Actually, we don't have a definite target in this world, because they always want more and all of a sudden, any unforeseen misfortune, illness and-in any case-the death put an end to our claims. This expectation (and no other) is frustrating for the more competent human being. A brilliant career comes to an end, but not the target. I know some people who have attained wealth and prestige, have equity, the children separated, there are still health and possibly years of life ahead of you. Could say: I hit my target, now I'm going to stop, rest, travel, enjoy my heritage and live. I don't know if that ever happens. Those who after all this still keep will not stop. Continue while you can, not to reach any target.
Enter our biblical text, that I propose to reread. Are words of Jesus as a warning to us.
The Apostle Paul understood that very well, which is why he changed his focus. Your new direction is expressed in the verse highlighted. Knowing then that the result of the past is cheap and there is a promising future for the children of God, it pays to follow the example of Paul and get the target that is beyond our limited horizon. Don't discount the love of Jesus who wants to release you from it's passenger, to deliver to you the eternal.
This does not mean that the goods purchased are to be donated to a charity and you need to forgo the accumulated wealth. What is needed is that from now on his vision to change and the smallest value not considered better than eternal life. Stop and take time to seek God and put before him as an offering on the altar your ability, your effort, your whole life. It's worth it. Do the communion with God your target.

Naaman and his entire Entourage returned to the House of the man of God. Upon arriving before the Prophet, Naaman said to him: "now I know that there is no God anywhere else, only in Israel" (2 Kings 5.15).
_________________
The beginning of 2 Kings 5 tells the story of a man who was healed in the days of the Prophet Elisha. This man was Naaman, Commander of an enemy army of the nation of Israel. He did not know the God of Israel nor his mercy. However, this man, who kept home as an Israeli girl slave captured by his army, God manifested his mercy.
God acted at that time and continues to do so today. He acts among his worshipers and among those who do not know him. But what draws attention is the reaction to this demonstration.
Although initially reluctant, Naaman followed the guidance of Elisha, bathed in the Jordan River and was cured. After this experience, Naaman says: "now I know that there is no God anywhere else, only in Israel" (v 15b). The recognition of the greatness of the God of Israel took this man to make a decision: "thy servant never do burnt offerings and sacrifices to any other god, or unto the Lord" (verse 17).
You already know the God that Naaman met? From your experience, what has changed in your life or what decision was made? You can find living a situation that does not allow you to recognize God's mercy.
But look for the life of the Israeli girl, who the Bible even mentions the name. She did not allow the difficulties to erase the confidence you had in your God. Despite being a slave, she felt the mercy of your God, which made testify to his lady. His words were sincere and they took this woman talking to her husband. As well as the mercy of God was manifested the Naaman, by means of a girl, she also manifests itself to you. You have acknowledged and witnessed about it?

Metanoia

Metanoia
Leitura bíblica:
_________________
Arrependam-se e voltem-se para Deus, para que os seus pecados sejam cancelados (Atos 3.19).
_________________

Repent and turn to God, so that your sins are cancelled (Acts 3.19).
_________________
In today's text appears on the scene an "exotic" figure, similar to a "caveman": John the Baptist. He was the last of the prophets – they announced the coming of the Kingdom of God and the Messiah (the King expected by Jews), preparing the people for the coming of the Son of God.
He called everyone's attention by his way of dressing, feeding and address, by total dependence of God and absolute independence of the system governing society. In addition, God has given you authority to announce the need for repentance and change of life as the most appropriate way to start a relationship with God – that is holy and cannot live with what is impure – and receive his forgiveness. More than his appearance, his message was causing an impact so deep that the crowd was headed to the River Jordan to be baptized by him.
The Greek word chosen by the Evangelist Matthew in the original text to refer to repentance as the preaching and baptism of John is Metanoia. She means more to feel pain or guilt for disobedience to God. Metanoia is a radical change of thoughts and attitudes – what we call "conversion": turn to God, abandoning everything he dislikes. So when many Pharisees and Sadducees came to John the Baptist to be baptized, he called them "vipers" and said that they should not believe its origin or religion would ensure a place in heaven.
They needed to give fruits that demonstrate a genuine repentance. That means giving a “half-back" in life, giving decidedly away from that which displeases God, staring eyes on the author and finisher of faith: Jesus Christ (Hebrews 12.2) and, for him, going on to perform good works which God requires, revealing the transformation that he made.
And you gave your life to Christ? Do this and live with him eternally!

Only guilt is not enough: is the conscience of forgiveness that gives impetus to the transformation.
