Provavelmente desagradou muita gente.

Imagine a boy of eight years reigning over a nation. At sixteen, he begins to seek God. Realizing that the religious rituals of his people were going against the will of God, he promotes a widespread cleanup in the country: destroy temples and idols, rock altars used in pagan ceremonies and kill the priests celebrating these rituals.
When I read the story of Josiah, recorded in the Bible in 2 Kings chapters 22 and 23 and 2 Chronicles 34 and 35, I can't help but amaze me that a boy so young has been able to stand up to such an extent in a court and a country permeated by idolatry. Probably displeased a lot of people. However, managed to appeal to who matters most: God.
In the midst of his religious reform, Josiah sent to restore the temple. During the works, the high priest found the book of the law of God, by then forgotten by all the people. To become aware of its contents, Josias was distressed because he realized how deep the well was in the people of Judah had stuck with his disobedience to God. He could have been alleviated with the promise of God that he, the King, would be spared the troubles announced, have repented (2 Kings 22.19-20), but are not satisfied with it. Called also the entire people to renew the Alliance made with God, in an attempt to save him too.
The life of Josiah leaves a showpiece.
He's not intimidated in front of customs of the people idolaters of the opposition and the size of the task: followed steady path that was recognized as the one God wanted. Not seek variances to get what he wanted: If you obey God meant going against everybody, that's what he would do. Don't settle for less. I wonder if we can be so tight? Worth a try, to get the result of the verse highlighted.

Dependência / Dependency

Dependência
Leitura bíblica:
_________________
Submetam-se a Deus (Tiago 4.7).
_________________

Dependency

Submit yourselves to God (James 4.7).

At first, the King Nebuchadnezzar did not recognize that God had chosen as ruler and given everything he was and owned. Thought was himself responsible for the glory of Babylon and worthy to be worshipped, despite seeing signs and wonders as, for example, the deliverance of Shadrach, meshach and Abednego of death in the furnace where the had(Daniel 3). Continued to worship other gods, was evil and mistreated anyone. After a dream, God revealed through Daniel what would happen to him if it continued with such attitudes of disobedience. And, in fact, it remained cocky and all outside predicted happened (verse 33).
After that, before the suffering that had passed, the King recognized the sovereignty of God and, consequently, their total dependence on him (verse 37). Thus, by divine mercy, returned to social conviviality and returned to reign over his people.
In this event we note the importance of the recognition of the superiority of God and of our inferiority, pegged to the obedience and loyalty to him. Believe that the Lord is sovereign and is in control of all is fundamental for understanding our position under the circumstances of life. If we think that are independent of him, we will suffer the consequences – for example, we will be affected by any problem and we see that we cannot solve everything themselves.
Ruled life, pious and exemplary requires demonstration of faith and submission to God in times of peace and prosperity, as well as in times of adversity and need. Everything we are and have we owe God's mercy: we're totally dependent on him. Rarely people want to submit to the control of someone, but live in dependence on God is extremely necessary and inexplicably wonderful. If you have not declared their dependence on God, do it today and see how your life will be transformed.

O que fazer? / What to do?

O que fazer?
Leitura bíblica:
_________________

What to do?
Bible reading:
_________________
... never seek revenge, but leave it to God to wrath, for it is written, "vengeance is mine; I will repay, "says the Lord (Romans 12.19).
_________________
Many people will agree to say they know someone who is difficult to deal with. Can be at work, in social or family get-together. Maybe describe that person as stubborn, jealous, jealous. In many cases, avoid the contact with him, not to generate discussions or feelings that just "spoiling the day".
Isaac faced a similar situation. In the place where he lived, the locals were jealous of the prosperity that God was giving him. It bothered them so much that they have teamed up to try to harm Isaac somehow. It was not acceptable for a foreigner to get better success in business than the natives. And what did they do? Filled with ground water wells in which Isaac filling all your flock. The King site, Abimelech, came the kick Isaac out. And, even after the departure of Isaac, the fight by Wells continued.
It is interesting to note the attitude of Isaac about it all. He was terribly wronged, but knew how to deal with the situation, while remaining faithful to God and not feeding feelings of hatred and vengeance. Continued serving and worshiping the Lord with a pure heart, and later the same King that had expelled them from their land went looking for him to make a deal with him, because he saw that God was protecting Isaac wherever he was. The attitude of Isaac won the respect of those who envied.
The challenge is great, but, as hard as it is to a person, we will make things much worse if feed for her feelings of hatred and vengeance. If we have that in our heart, we will be prisoners of our emotions and our life will be far from being a good example. When we returned the wrong suffered in the same currency, we are nothing different from those in the cause. God only knows how to resolve these situations.

O ponto fundamental / The fundamental point

O ponto fundamental
_________________
É o poder do evangelho.

"I myself, brethren, when I was among you, I was not with eloquent speech, nor with much wisdom to proclaim the mystery of God. Because decided anything you know except Jesus Christ, and this, crucified. " (1 Corinthians 2:1-2)
_________________
C. H. Spurgeon defined so the Gospel: Jesus died for me. This is our essential message. Is Jesus Christ and Him crucified.
I think that too complicates this what we call evangelism. I'm not suggesting that we should tell others about Christ without any understanding of what the Bible teaches. There is room for apologetics, the defense of the faith. There is a place for building a bridge to those we spoke to and there's room for other Evangelistic techniques we can employ. But the key point on which we must focus, the primary message we have to proclaim, is the message of Jesus Christ and Him crucified.
I believe that when you proclaims this message, God can use you to win others to Christ. The Apostle Paul wrote: "Because the message of the cross is to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God" (1 Corinthians 1:18), and: "I am not ashamed of the Gospel, because it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes: first of the Jew, after the Greek" (Romans 1:16 ).
It's been a long time since I've been proclaiming the Gospel message and still wonder with its power. I've heard stories of people who never would expect to come to believe in God. I was haunted by the way God the reached and transformed. Is the power of the Gospel.
There is power in the simple story of life, death and resurrection of Jesus. Don't complicate things. Do not add. Don't take. Not appropriate. Simply proclaim that story and see what God does.

O pássaro e a oração / The bird and prayer

O pássaro e a oração
Leitura bíblica:
_________________
(I Pedro 5.7)
_________________

The bird and prayer
Bible reading:

"Drop the bomb on him (Jesus) all your anxiety, because he's been taking care of you." (I Peter 5.7)
_________________
Have you ever seen a bird sleeping on a tree branch or a wire, without falling?
How did he manage that? If we try to sleep like that, we'd fall and break your neck. The secret is in the tendons of the legs of the bird.
They are constructed so that, when the knee is bent, the foot firmly secure anything. The feet will not drop the branch until it unfold the knee to fly. The knee is what gives the bird the strength to hold anything.
It's wonderful, isn't it? Incredible picture that the creator made to hold the bird!
But, it's not so different in us. When our "twig" (security) in life is precarious, when everything is threatened to fall, greater security, greater stability comes to us from one knee bent, folded in prayer.
If you sometimes see a tangle of problems that make you lose faith, discourage walking, lost dreams and hope, don't walk alone. Jesus wants to strengthen you and walk with you all your life! He renews his forces and their faith; and take care of a bird, imagine what you won't do for you Your beloved son, you just believe!

"Seek the Lord while you can find him; call for him while he is near "Isaiah 55.6.

Bend your knees in prayer, so that your feet are signed in the rock that is Christ.

Coração e espírito novos / Heart and spirit new

Deus seja louvado!

A lady went to visit a couple who vibrated with the arrival of the first-born son. Suddenly, she asked: "have you ever prayed for the curse of his parents who disbelieve do not stay in the life of this your son?" She quoted: "... because I am the Lord, your God, God zealous, I visit the iniquity of the fathers upon the sons to the third and fourth generation of those who bore me" (Exodus 20.5). One young mother, frightened, said he prayed all night. If you kept reading wouldn't be so scared, because the next verse says, "and do a thousand generations of those who even mercy love me and keep my commandments" (Exodus 20.6).
The prophet Ezekiel already tells us: "... the son does not take the iniquity of the father, nor the father, the iniquity of the son; the righteousness of the righteous will be with him, and the wickedness of the wicked will fall on this "(Ezekiel 18.20). Before Christ in our lives we were under the curse. Paul says that "were by nature children of wrath, like the rest of you, too" (Ephesians 2.3). But the Apostle also explained to us "that if anyone is in Christ is a new creation, old things are passed away, behold all things are become new" (2 Corinthians 5.17). With Christ we have a new heart.
God be praised!
