Daniel Leitura bíblica: Daniel 1.1-20  _________________ Daniel [...] decidiu não se tornar impuro com a comida e com o vinho do rei... (Daniel 4.8). _________________

Daniel é provavelmente mais conhecido pelo evento em que superou a cova dos leões, mas na leitura de hoje o encontramos ainda jovem, começando a carreira na Babilônia. Seu povo havia sido derrotado, e os babilônios tinham o inteligente hábito de identificar pessoas capazes entre povos que conquistavam para servir na complexa gestão do reino. Embora escravo, Daniel foi selecionado para participar de um programa de treinamento e então concorrer a uma vaga no prestigioso serviço do rei Nabucodonosor. Era uma questão de tudo ou nada – não consigo imaginar um bom desfecho para quem fosse demitido...

Os judeus eram extremamente cuidadosos quanto aos alimentos em termos do que poderíamos chamar de pureza cerimonial. Um homem consagrado a Deus não poderia consumir alimentos inadequados ou preparados de forma imprópria segundo a rigorosa lei judaica... e a comida daquele rei ímpio seria inaceitável. Mesmo correndo grave risco (afinal desagradar ao rei poderia resultar em morte), Daniel e seus amigos pedem para abster-se dessa comida. O texto dá conta de que eles se tornaram mais saudáveis e fortes não por causa do que comeram (este texto não se presta a discutir qual o tipo de comida mais saudável), mas porque foram abençoados pelo próprio Deus, que honrou sua fidelidade e os encheu de sabedoria.

Podemos considerar que o desafio de Daniel não foi diferente do nosso. Diariamente precisamos escolher entre a fidelidade a Deus ou ceder “só um pouquinho”. As circunstâncias geralmente sugerirão que, se não cedermos, não será possível sobreviver (e cada um sabe qual é o seu “Nabucodonosor”). Precisamos lembrar que Daniel e seus companheiros não sabiam de antemão o resultado – apenas correram o risco de decidir obedecer. Bem mais tarde, colheram os resultados.

Daniel Bible reading: Daniel 1.1-20  _________________ Daniel [...] decided not to become unclean with the food and wine of the King. (Daniel 4.8). _________________

Daniel is probably best known for the event in which overcame the Lions ' den, but in reading today found him at a young age, starting his career in Babylon. His people had been defeated, and the Babylonians had the smart habit to identify capable people among peoples that conquered to serve in the complex management of the Kingdom. Although slave, Daniel was selected to participate in a training program and then compete for a spot in the prestigious King Nebuchadnezzar. It was just a matter of all or nothing – I can't imagine a good outcome for those who were laid off.

The Jews were extremely careful about the foods in terms of what we might call ceremonial purity. A man consecrated to God could not consume food inadequate or improperly prepared according to strict Jewish law ... and the food of that wicked King would be unacceptable. Even at serious risk (after all displeasing to the King could result in death), Daniel and his friends asked to abstain from this food. The text that they became healthier and strong not because of what they ate (this text does not lend itself to discuss what type of healthier food), but because they were blessed by God himself, who honored his fidelity and full of wisdom.

We can consider that the challenge of Daniel was not different from ours. Every day we need to choose between loyalty to God or give in "just a little". The circumstances usually suggest that, if we give in, you will not be able to survive (and every one you know what your "Nebuchadnezzar"). We need to remember that Daniel and his companions did not know beforehand the result-only ran the risk of decide to obey. Much later, reaped the results.

Nuvem / Cloud

Nuvem Leitura bíblica: Hebreus 12.1-3  _________________ Pensem bem naquele que suportou tal oposição dos pecadores contra si mesmo, para que vocês não se cansem nem desanimem (Hebreus 12.3). _________________

O texto sugerido inicia falando da nuvem de testemunhas que rodeia os que creem em Jesus Cristo. A carta aos Hebreus foi escrita especialmente a judeus que haviam chegado à fé em Jesus e assim faziam parte da nova aliança com Deus por meio do sangue dele. Mas, diante de dificuldades, especialmente perseguições, estavam deixando a nova vida de lado, voltando às suas antigas práticas. Depois de um longo arrazoado sobre fé e exemplos de fé no capítulo 11, temos uma seção conclusiva. Todos os exemplos citados formam uma nuvem de testemunhas “sobre nossa cabeça”.

Para que serve uma nuvem, ou o que ela representa? Pode ter muitos significados, inclusive negativos. Mas no caso de nosso texto, gostaria de destacar duas boas características. A primeira: alívio. Não é fácil trabalhar ao sol em dias quentes. Não há para onde fugir, não há como desistir. Quando então aparece uma nuvem no céu e encobre o sol, ela oferece alívio.

Segundo: esperança. Quando olhamos para o céu azul, geralmente dizemos: “Que dia lindo, nenhuma nuvem no céu!” Todavia, em tempos de grande seca, é triste ver plantações murchando e morrendo e olhar para o céu azul. Desejam-se nuvens que tragam chuva. Depois de semanas ou até meses assim, o cenário fica cada vez mais desanimador, apesar de os dias serem lindos. Quando aparece uma nuvem no céu, mesmo que ainda não esteja chovendo, há um sinal de esperança.

Temos na História uma nuvem de testemunhas que quer dar alívio e esperança a quem crê e está passando por provas de fogo na vida sem ver perspectiva. Foram pessoas que passaram por experiências semelhantes, mas que não abriram mão da fé. Livraram-se de tudo o que atrapalha e correram com perseverança para o alvo que Deus lhes propôs. De que jeito? Tendo os olhos fitos em Jesus, autor e consumador da sua fé.

Cloud Bible reading: Hebrews 12.1-3  _________________ Think that you have endured such opposition from sinners against himself, so that you don't get tired or get discouraged (Hebrews 12.3). _________________

The text suggested starts talking about the cloud of witnesses that surrounds those who believe in Jesus Christ. The letter to the Hebrews was written especially to Jews who had come to faith in Jesus and so were part of the new Covenant with God through his blood. But, in the face of difficulties, especially persecution, were leaving the new life aside, going back to their old practices. After a long reasoning about faith and faith examples in Chapter 11, we have a concluding section. All the examples cited form a cloud of witnesses "over our heads".

What's a cloud, or what it represents? Can have many meanings, including negatives. But in the case of our text, I would like to highlight two good features. The first: relief. It's not easy to work in the Sun on hot days. There's nowhere to run, there's no way to give up. When then appears a cloud in the sky and covers the Sun, she offers relief.

Second: hope. When we look at the blue sky, usually say: "what a beautiful day, not a cloud in the sky!" However, in times of great drought, it's sad to see crops withering and dying and looking at the blue sky. Wish if clouds bring rain. After weeks or even months so, the scenario becomes increasingly daunting, although the days are beautiful. When I see a cloud in the sky, even if it is not raining, there is a hopeful sign.

We have in the story a cloud of witnesses who want to give relief and hope to those who believe and is undergoing trials by fire in life without view perspective. Were people who have been through similar experiences, but don't forsake the faith. Got rid of everything that gets in the way and ran with perseverance to the target which God they proposed. That way? Having your eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and finisher of their faith.

Diferença / Difference

Diferença Leitura bíblica: João 1.10-14  _________________ Aquele que é a Palavra estava no mundo, e o mundo foi feito por intermédio dele, mas o mundo não o reconheceu (João 1.10). _________________

Este texto fala da vinda de Jesus Cristo e tem uma declaração devastadora: o mundo não o reconheceu. Nem sequer os israelitas, o povo escolhido por Deus para recebê-lo, e que dispunha das profecias que apontavam para ele.

Cristo veio em primeiro lugar para Israel. Em tudo ele cumpriu as Escrituras, desde o seu nascimento em Belém até sua morte na cruz, quando tomou sobre si a nossa culpa (Isaías 53.5). Que fizeram com ele? Crucificaram-no por não o reconhecerem. Ao mesmo tempo, porém, contribuíram para cumprir a profecia a seu respeito. Hoje Cristo se manifesta entre nós por meio do seu Espírito, mas o mundo continua a não reconhecê-lo. Quando ele vier de novo visivelmente, será reconhecido por todos, mas então será tarde demais (Apocalipse 6.12-17).

Agora vejamos a grande diferença: Os que reconheceram Jesus e creram nele receberam o direito de serem mais que o povo de Israel era. Tornaram-se filhos de Deus, adquirindo uma nova mente. Tudo se tornou novo neles. Em certo sentido, tornaram-se outros. Têm agora novo sentido de vida, novos ideais, nova conduta, novos sonhos. O apóstolo Paulo chega a dizer: “As coisas antigas já passaram, eis que surgiram coisas novas” (2 Coríntios 5.17).

Em João 3, Jesus afirma que “aquele que nasceu de novo” torna-se um ser imprevisível. É como o vento. Após o novo nascimento – sua conversão a Cristo – ele surpreende no melhor sentido. Não vive mais cotejando o que é certo ou errado. Não segue regras, mas supera estas pelo amor. Nem vai pela onda da moda, dos comportamentos, dos costumes. Não é moderno nem pós-moderno. Seu comportamento é inédito. Não se importa em fazer, mas em ser um filho de Deus vivendo entre os filhos dos homens. Esta união com Deus por meio de Cristo é a grande diferença do cristão e um mistério que o mundo não consegue entender (Efésios 5.32).

Difference Bible reading: John 1.10-14  _________________ What is the word was in the world, and the world was made through him, yet the world did not recognize him (John 1.10). _________________

This text speaks of the coming of Jesus Christ and has a devastating Declaration: the world did not recognize him. Even the Israelis, the people chosen by God to receive him, and available from the prophecies that pointed to him.

Christ came in first place for Israel. In all he fulfilled the Scriptures, since its birth in Bethlehem until his death on the cross, when he took upon himself our guilt (Isaiah 53.5). What they did to him? Crucified for not recognise. At the same time, however, contributed to fulfill the prophecy. Today Christ is manifested among us through his Spirit, but the world still doesn't recognize it. When he comes again visibly, will be recognized by all, but then it will be too late (Revelation 6.12-17).

Now let's see the big difference: those who recognized Jesus and believed in him received the right to be more than the people of Israel was. Have become children of God, acquiring a new mind. Everything has become new in them. In a sense, became other. Now have new meaning of life, new ideas, new, new dreams. The Apostle Paul comes to say: "old things are passed away, behold, new things have arisen" (2 Cor. 5.17).

In John 3, Jesus says that "he who was born again" becomes a being unpredictable. It's like the wind. After being born again-his conversion to Christ-he surprises in the best sense. No more checking what's right or wrong. Does not follow rules, but overcomes this by love. Nor will the wave of fashion, behavior, customs. It's not modern or postmodern. Your behavior is unheard of. Don't mind doing, but being a child of God living among the children of men. This Union with God through Christ is the great difference between a Christian and a mystery that the world can't understand (Ephesians 5.32).

Crianças Leitura bíblica: Mateus 19.13-13  _________________ O que ouvimos e aprendemos, o que nossos pais nos contaram, nos os esconderemos dos nossos filhos. (Salmo 78.3,4). _________________

Nossos filhos são abençoados quando contamos a eles a história da ação de Deus na salvação dos homens. Os pais têm a tarefa de educar seus filhos e de ensiná-los a amar a Deus e a serem cristãos. Talvez os discípulos de Jesus achassem que as crianças não precisavam ir a Jesus, como alguns pais às vezes consideram. Jesus ficou indignado com seus discípulos, suspendeu a discussão sobre o divórcio e pediu que deixassem as crianças ir a Ele.

Os discípulos estavam em uma conversa profunda e teológica. Era assunto de “adulto” e pensavam que naquela hora Jesus não deveria ser incomodado por crianças, que para eles eram inferiores e – ao menos ali e então – não mereciam estar com o Mestre. Algumas vezes encontramos por aí líderes religiosos e pais de crianças que pensam como os discípulos: que as crianças são pequenas demais para merecer a atenção e o amor de Jesus. Mas Jesus mostrou que não: os adultos deveriam deixar as crianças ir até Ele.

As mães estavam ali procurando Jesus para abençoar seus filhos. Talvez alguns no colo, outros engatinhando. Aquelas pessoas adultas, sim, agiram certo em levar as crianças a Jesus. São pessoas exemplares. As mães levaram suas crianças ao lugar certo, no momento certo! Se esperassem as crianças se tornarem adultas para leva-las a Jesus, talvez fosse tarde demais. Levar as crianças à igreja desde cedo é permitir que tenham um encontro com Jesus. Ler a Bíblia para os filhos, orar com eles, testemunhar do que Deus já fez na vida da família, investir para que a criança cresça espiritualmente é encaminhá-las a Jesus.

As crianças dependem dos pais e de líderes. Se não forem levadas a Jesus, provavelmente não irão por si próprias.

Kids Bible reading: Matthew 19.13-13  _________________ What we heard and learned, what our parents told us, in the hide of our children. (Psalm 78.3 .4). _________________

Our kids are blessed when we tell them the story of the action of God in the salvation of men. Parents have the task to educate their children and to teach them to love God and to be Christians. Maybe Jesus ' disciples thought that children did not need to go to Jesus, as some parents sometimes consider. Jesus was indignant with his disciples, suspended the discussion on divorce and asked to leave the children to go to him.

The disciples were in a deep and theological conversation. Was a matter of "adult" and thought at that moment Jesus shouldn't be disturbed by children, which for them were inferior and – at least there and then – do not deserved to be with the Master. Sometimes we found around religious leaders and parents of children who think like the disciples: that children are too small to deserve the attention and love of Jesus. But Jesus showed no: adults should let children get to him.

The mothers were there looking for Jesus to bless their children. Maybe some in your lap, others crawling. Those elderly people, Yes, they acted right to take the children to Jesus. Are people. The mothers took their children to the right place, at the right time! If you expect children to become adults to take them to Jesus, perhaps it was too late. Take the kids to church early on is to allow to have a date with Jesus. Read the Bible for children, pray with them, to witness what God has already done in the life of the family, invest for a child to grow spiritually is refer them to Jesus.

Children depend on parents and leaders. If they are not brought to Jesus, probably will not by themselves.

A realidade do pecado / The reality of sin

A realidade do pecado Leitura bíblica: Romanos 5.6-12  _________________ Estejam alertas e vigiem. O Diabo, o inimigo de vocês, anda ao redor como leão, rugindo e procurando quem possa devorar (1 Pedro 5.8). _________________

Nossa rebeldia contra Deus, que a Bíblia chama de pecado, é uma tremenda realidade na vida. Na Bíblia ele é tratado como se fosse uma individualidade traiçoeira que exerce um poder mágico. Veja esta história:

Um casal, já idoso, convidou seus dois filhos com suas famílias para um almoço num restaurante. O garçom trouxe o cardápio e foi feito o pedido. Mas não houve unanimidade na escolha dos pratos. Com isso, um dos filhos tornou-se agressivo e acabou acusando o pai, pois segundo ele o pai sempre apoiava o outro filho. Isto turvou o ambiente. Os diversos pratos foram servidos. A comida, embora apetitosa, não foi suficiente para abrandar a irritação que fermentou o ambiente. O pai, que sempre fazia a oração de agradecimento, desta vez não orou. O nervosismo era visível em todos. Nem as crianças conversaram. O que era para ser um almoço alegre e de confraternização, tornou-se lúgubre. Cada um foi saindo sem uma despedida alegre.

No caminho para casa o pai comentou com a sua esposa: “Este almoço não aconteceu na presença de Deus e sim na companhia de Satanás”. Os dois começaram a examinar suas vidas. “Onde foi que erramos? Como foi que Satanás achou uma brecha para conturbar o ambiente? O que podemos fazer para consertar essa situação?” É a forma certa de abordar tais situações. Tiago 4.10 responde: “Humilhem-se diante do Senhor, e ele os exaltará”.

Também é necessário reconhecer que, mesmo convertidos a Cristo e perdoados, ainda assim é real o que se lê em Salmo 51.5 “Sou pecador desde que nasci.” Por isso vale recordar o que Deus falou a Caim: “Saiba que o pecado o ameaça à porta; ele deseja conquistá-lo, mas você deve dominá-lo” (Gênesis 4.7).

The reality of sin Bible reading: Romans 5.6-12  _________________ Be alert and watch. The devil, the enemy of you, walk around like a lion, roaring and seeking whom he may devour (1 Peter 5.8). _________________

Our rebellion against God, the Bible calls Sin, is a terrible reality in life. In the Bible he is treated as if it were a treacherous individuality that exerts a magical power. See this story:

A couple, elderly, asked his two sons with their families for a lunch in a restaurant. The waiter brought the menu and was made the request. But there was no unanimity on the choice of dishes. With that, one of the children became aggressive and ended up accusing the father, because according to him the father always supported another son. This clouded the environment. The various dishes were served. The food, although tasty, was not enough to slow down the irritation that sour the environment. The father, who always did the prayer of Thanksgiving, this time not prayed. The nervousness was visible at all. Not the kids talked. What was to be a cheerful lunch and celebration has become gloomy. Each was leaving without a farewell Merry.

On the way home, the father told his wife: "this lunch didn't happen in the presence of God and Yes in the company of Satan". The two began to examine their lives. "Where did we go wrong? How did Satan found a loophole to shake the environment? What can we do to fix this situation? " Is the right way to address such situations. James 4.10 responds: "Humiliate themselves before the Lord, and he rests".

It is also necessary to recognize that even converted to Christ and forgiven, it's still real you read in Psalm 51.5 "I'm a sinner since I was born." So it's worth remembering what God said to Cain: "know that the sin the threat at the door; He wants to win it, but you must master it "(Genesis 4.7).
