Abatida
Leitura bíblica: Salmo 42.1-43.5
_________________
Deus continua no controle e o salmista confia.

Shot down
Bible Reading: Psalm 42.1-43.5

Why are you so sad, o my soul? Why so disturbed within me? Put your hope in God, bless; He is my Savior and my God (Psalm 42.11)

Philosophers, theologians, psychologists, anthropologists, sociologists and others seek tirelessly to understand the human being. But there are situations that disrupt our soul in such a way that not even we understand each other. I dare say that this is the situation of the psalmist that sincere and open manner exposes his heart. In three verses, repeats the same, (Psalm 42.5.11 and Psalm 43.5) showing how upset and down. In this situation it seems that nobody helps and, instead of the host in their suffering, people still increase with questions like: "where is your God?" Later he indicates that your opponents also make continuously the same question, and it hurts so much that seems to be feeling all your bones. So disturbed, the psalmist cries day and night and your soul flows, exhausting all its forces.
We can easily identify us with the psalmist when we go through situations of suffering. But the same author that exposes their suffering as France indicates what to do in such situations: wait on God. It seems a naive solution, but it's not.
Wait on God is not a passive attitude, as it involves hope and confidence, so much that he states categorically that still will commend you, because God remains God despite its confrontational situation and abandonment. God is still in control and the psalmist trusts. Wait on God to seek his presence and silence the soul. Talk about everything that's ailing until I have nothing more to say and so hear what God has to say about the situation. Further States that God is the source of the full joy (Psalm 43.4) and that only he understands us in all our complexity.

Wait on God is to trust your sovereignty and your love.

Bênção / Blessing

Bênção
Leitura bíblica: Gênesis 32.22-30
_________________
...e você será uma bênção (Gênesis 12.2).
_________________

Blessing
Bible Reading: Genesis 32.22-30
_________________
... and you will be a blessing (Genesis 12.2).
_________________
We read in the text today a decisive episode in the life of Jacob, but the whole story comes from Chapter 27 of the book of Genesis and still later. It seems that Jacob always yearned to be blessed. Knowing that naturally would inherit the blessings of primogeniture, as his brother Esau was born before, tried to unfair means to reach it. Taking advantage of a moment of weakness of Esau, bought their right of firstborn for the price of a plate of food.
As if that wasn't enough size opportunism, under the guidance of his mother cheated on his father and his brother, assuming the identity of this and receiving of Isaac his father, that blessing. Little did Jacob the anguish that would have about it: still driven by his mother, had to become a fugitive for fear the angry reaction of the brother in front of your dishonest conduct. Ended up in the hands of someone as or even more unfair and cheat him: his uncle Laban, who tricked him several times and who ended up working for free.
Could have given up to be blessed, but learned to trust in God and not in his own wit. On his return, after 20 years, the fight with the Angel of God for the blessing and prevails. His life serves as an example of how not to act to be blessed. It's not cheating, not giving way, it's not stealing, not cheating, or being disloyal.
The word of God teaches us how we can be blessed. Jacob discovered the hard way that the blessing of God lies in submission to his will, expressed in attitudes as obedience, humility, unity, forgiveness, donation, prayer, gratitude and the exaltation of the name of the Lord. In their unbridled pursuit of blessing, Jacob forgot to be a channel of God's blessings to others. His ambition blinded him for 20 years, and only when he returned and found that had already been forgiven by her brother realized that already was blessed since birth, without relying on familiar position that it occupied.

Erotização / Stranger was sleek

Erotização
Leitura bíblica: 2 Reis 23.1-10
_________________

Bible Reading: 2 Kings 23.1-10

They exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served the things and beings created, rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen (Romans 1.25).
_________________
As the name mentions, the book of Kings tells about the Kings and their reigns. Some did the will of God, others less so and others not at all. They did what was evil before the Lord and took all the people under his leadership to sin against God. The King highlighted in today's reading is called Josiah and began to govern with only eight years of age, reigning thirty-one years in Jerusalem. A little before we read that "he did what the Lord approves and walked in the ways of David his ancestor, without deviating neither to the right nor to the left" (22.2).
By walking in the ways of the Lord God, he had to correct many errors and sins of their predecessors, performing a true spiritual reform. Among them, destroyed the cult prostitutes ' accommodation and ended up with the sacrifice of children.
What draws attention in these dynasties is that, every time the Kings have gone astray from God's ways, ultimately enhancing the sexual sphere, prostituting himself in every way. Here, had reached the point of install it in own House of the Lord (verse 7). As the verse highlighted, exchanged the creator the creature and served the other created things. I'm not saying that sex is bad, but can become bad when trivialized, as also happens with other things.
Currently our country lives a kind of society this stranger was sleek. Everything or almost everything is linked to sex or pornography. Today many Brazilians are playing hookey at the Carnival. Under the pretext of "celebrate life", what we see is the deification sensuality without reins, irresponsibility, of complete and utter selfishness. There's no music, fun and games you can hide it. Would then really a party?

Engano / Mistake

Engano
Leitura bíblica: Gênesis 4.17-26
_________________
É a paralisia total!

Mistake
Bible Reading: Genesis 4.17-26
_________________
Any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin (Hebrews 3.13b).
_________________
Have you ever felt cheated? The pain and even shame coming this feeling are stressful and don't stimulate. Who is experiencing such a situation going on the defensive and suspicious of everyone. Refuses to believe again, stop trying to realize their dreams and sometimes even to leave the House. Is the total paralysis.
In the text of today we can observe an interesting fact in the life of Adam and Eve. After being tricked by the serpent, disobeyed God and were expelled from the garden of Eden, where related to God. So were paralyzed for a long time. Only after the birth of his grandson, Enos is that if began to invoke (or proclaim) the name of the Lord. The mistake of sin (everything that displeases God) makes the human being hardened, perverse and faithless. The text also shows how much the evil grows by the remoteness of God. Lamech is proud to say that I had committed murder and that would be vindicated more times that his ancestor (i.e. Although displease God, expect your protection!).
The farther one lives from God, more evil is practiced – and Sin follows causing more and more mistakes in my life. However, how to stop this cycle of mistakes! As we approach the Lord and seek with faith, admitting our evil ways, he forgives and cleanses all evil. This is possible because Christ has already paid the price for our sins when he died on the cross; through him we can have a relationship with the Father and our lives are transformed.
What is your situation? When you are offended by words or actions of their fellow feeling that prevails is the forgiveness or revenge? You have resisted the word of God or is sensitive to his teachings? Do not let Sin hardens your mind: If you are far away from God, approach him! To his children, God gives life true and eternal.

Leitura bíblica: Jeremias 29.10-14
_________________

To find
Bible Reading: Jeremiah 29.10-14
_________________
You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart (Jeremiah 29.13).
_________________
The context of the reading today is the promise of return of the people of Judah to their land after the exile in Babylon. What the Lord our God says in verse is applicable for us too. Many find it difficult to assure they meet the Lord immediately when the seek. There is a sense that God hid and not listen to our prayers. The silence in anguish, and doubt begins to want to prevail in our life. Happened so with the Prophet Daniel: he prayed, waited, perhaps it was already giving the subject for lost. But the angel that came with the answer presented itself to him saying he had difficulties in the path (faced a spiritual battle), but God heard Daniel so this pick him up (Daniel 10.12).
The Lord ensures that find it if we seek honestly (verse 13). This text points to the quality of our prayer: it is not the number of times we pray that matters to God. Even Jesus makes it clear that it's not by much talk that we will be heard, because you don't get carried away by vain repetitions (Matthew 6.7-8). What he wants in our prayers is intimacy, it's relationship with him. For this, the ideal is to get him in a place where we have privacy and can pray without distractions: just you and him (see Matthew 6.6 – anyone but God, need to know that we seek, as we must not act like the hypocrites).
In addition, it is necessary terms in our purpose and sincerity that our requests are in accordance to his will. He wouldn't answer something that seeks only to our own personal pleasure, but only what is part of your plans for our life.
God hears our prayers, even if apparently takes in his response. But don't forget: the important thing is to get him, find him and have a relationship with him, not just wishes granted.

God wants us to meet him, but you have to pick it up.

Medo / Fear

Medo
Leitura bíblica:
_________________

Fear
Bible reading:
_________________
The Lord, your God, he is going ahead of you, will fight for you, before your very eyes, as it did in Egypt (Deuteronomy 1.30).
_________________
Feeling fear is good when it prevents us from danger, but it's bad if it's too much and keeps us from acting. In the text we read today, Moses was reminding the Israelis the path travelled until they get where they were: on the promised land. God took his people from Egypt miraculously and nursed him during the long crossing the desert. Moses recalled an episode that occurred at the beginning of the journey: were this close to Canaan, but then what happens? Most Israelis get scared. Are sent spies, said to be very good land, but also that they saw the barriers that were before them to conquer it.
They had no reason to fear because God had already secured the victory; they should then trust that God would go ahead and fight for them. But what have they done? Rebelled, they could even use fear as an excuse, but it does not justify the disobedience to God. Were in their tents, complaining seems to have forgotten everything he had seen and that God always accompanied them; at the time, did not want to believe.
Some lessons we can learn from it: 1) we forget quickly what God has already done for us, and he won't let us; 2) fight by the people of God opens our vision and God grants WINS, but it's much easier to stay (in the "tents") and complain than go out there and do; 3) lose great opportunities given by God for fear of facing new challenges, thinking that we can get something without fighting for it and 4) we forget that, above all, we are called to honor the Lord and not ourselves.
Fear we all have, although perhaps in different areas and proportions. The difference is that some decide to face it and overcome it with the help of God, and others will win for him. What is the fear that you must win today?
