Perdão / Forgiveness /

Forgiveness

Biblereading: Jeremiah 31.29-34
I will forgive evil and do not remember more of their sins (Jeremiah 31.34 b).
Many of the situations in which I asked forgiveness from someone I still remember. Also remember when people have hurt me and asked forgiveness from me. Even having received forgiveness, we continue to remind us of the fact or condition of sin that was forgiven.
God promises us in never again remember of our sins. This promise is given after the announcement of a new alliance that God would make his people. The Prophet Jeremiah announces that God will make an Alliance that his word will be written in hearts, a different Alliance, offered for free.
The people of Israel understood well what it meant an Alliance. God had saved his people from slavery in Egypt and granted a new land to live. The Covenant of God with his people demanded obedience and was marked by a series of laws and ordinances.
Now, however, God does not based on their Alliance in laws and ordinances, but in his direct communion with the person. This promise given to Jeremiah has been fulfilled through the son of God, Jesus Christ. The death and resurrection of Jesus introduces a new alliance with us. Is totally God's action in our favor. We did not leave the glory of heaven, or we suffer the judgment of men, much less die on a cross. Was God in Christ Jesus, who has done it all for our sake, and freely offers us forgiveness of sins.
And when God forgives, he also forgets, not go back remembering the past mistakes. Our sins are purified in Christ Jesus, are forgotten, never remembered. Whoever believes in Christ is included in this new Covenant of grace and forgiveness unearned.

Seja Útil / Be Useful /

Be Useful
Bible reading: Exodus 4.14-17, 27-31
Bring ... because me is useful for the Ministry (2 Timothy 4.11).
Who ends up spending many days hospitalized feel pleasure in returning to normal life. Normal activities, even the simplest duties, dissipate the sense of uselessness. In the excerpt that you read, Aaron becomes useful in a way that before maybe not an imagined. Nobody knows if he wished some function in the plan to free the people of Israel. However, when his younger brother, Moses, you stated the purpose of God, accepted to be their spokesperson. Would be communicated the people that Moses received from God. Accompanied Moses on all day negotiating with the Pharaoh strained to remove Israel from slavery and saw the disastrous when the King signs to sag. Later, towards Canaan, and God chose him to be the first high priest of the people in charge of the tent of God, pointing to Christ, our eternal priest. Although showing some human foibles, was active until his death.
Aaron shows us readiness to serve. At home, the children need duties to face life. The gifts and talents that we receive from God are as tools to achieve our targets. And when old age decreased skills and begin to feel worthless, as Christians we can still serve by prayer to God for the benefit of the people we met and the messengers of the Gospel throughout the world.
The featured verse gives us another example. Marcos erred when abandoned Barnabas and Paul (acts 13.13), but returned to serve. Tradition says that he was the author of the Gospel that bears his name, based primarily on information provided by Pedro. Missing us information would have been useful in other ways in the cause of the Gospel over the years. However, we know that was approved, because Paul, already old and imprisoned in Rome, asked for his help-perhaps to be spokesman of the teachings of the Apostle to the Christians in that city!

Moisés / Moses /

Moses
Bible reading: Deuteronomy 34.1-12
Teach us to count our days so that our heart extent wisdom (Psalm 90.12).
It's scary when the doctor announces to a patient that he only has a short time to live. Even more terrifying is the situation of a sentenced to death with the scheduled execution for a particular day and time. And if the judge who pronounces this sentence is God himself, she certainly is final. This was the situation of Moses in the text we read today! What feelings could be in the heart of Moses at that time? Repentance for having taken a moment of lack of faith when doubted that God would provide water if he was talking to a rock (20.8-12 Numbers)? Relief for having fulfilled its mission? Joy knowing that he would meet with God? Sadness at having to leave another person lead the people at the entrance to the promised land? I can't imagine it would be passing on the life of Moses after so many experiences he had with God.
When Moses was born, had to be hidden in order not to be killed. And in death, end of life, God took him to bury it personally. God was present at that time, as it was at all times of his life. Verses 10 to 12 give us an idea of the greatness of this servant of God.
When looking for this account, I am thinking about what God thinks of my life and what I myself do it. Let another person achieve my mission is a sign of continuity; that although I strive to be a blessing, I am not the only person that God can use to fulfill his purposes. To do so, must have humility enough to recognize that God knows more than I about my life (Proverbs 16.1), what should I do everything to work pleasing to God and prepare others to take my place, to continue what was started and is walking. And do not be proud, thinking that I am the only one that can do what God wants.

It is good to be useful, but it would be bad to find indispensable.

Jefté / Jephthah

Leitura Bíblica: Juízes 11:1 a 11

Jephthah
Bible reading: Judges 11: 1 to 11
And blessed are the Peacemakers: for they shall be called sons of God (Matthew 5:9)

Many think that to God only have value those that we consider important, but the text we read today shows that it is not so. Let's summarize it: Jephthah, son of Gilead with a prostitute, was chosen by the Lord to serve him despite his brothers by his father's side the House to expel for being illegitimate son and to deny him the inheritance. She was humiliated by the brothers. Have you ever imagined to be expelled from the host of your home? Later, the leaders of Gilead asked his help against the ammonites, offering you the heads on them. When we are ashamed, we are appalled and bewildered and often don't know what to do. Jephthah kept his humility and not Avenged his brothers-preferred to trust in God. Our natural reaction to humiliation is different: the trend is from not only for Defense, but for aggression-and save hard feelings. However, the best remedy for the humiliation is pray for those who persecute and affront (Matthew 5:44), and not let what happened in the master. She was an intelligent and practical leader, a true son of God. If you read his story below, you will see that before fighting the ammonites he sought peace. Remember the words of Jesus in verse. Even so he was unable to prevent the war and, in this situation, showed that it was a flawed man as any one of us. In that situation, made a vow to God to earn the thoughtless battle and the Lord did win, but this vote cost him much. Finally after this incident, he still won other battles and was judge of Israel for six years. When we are humiliated and this situation create conflicts for us, the Lord will fight for us if we humble before him, trusting him the issue and promoting peace. After all "God opposes the proud, but gives thanks to the humble" (1 Peter 5: 5).
God does great things with who humbleth himself before him.
