Servir? / Serve?

Servir?

[Jesus said:] If I, being Lord and master, washed their feet, you also ought to wash one another's feet (John 13.14).

What is the value of serving the educated people who know recognize its value and you say "thank you"?
I think it's the personal satisfaction of being recognized. However, sometimes we encounter situations where that's not the audience with which we relate to – on the contrary: we live with people who haven't learned the "please" and "thank you", perhaps through ignorance or even insensitivity about the next.
Looking to Jesus, God's son and rightful heir to the Kingdom of God, we observe that he was humble to be sacrificed in our place. Lived with the poor, sinners and outcasts, and washed the feet of his disciples, a slave, to give them a good demonstration of humility, and certainly without grumbling or ugly face, but with heart submission in obedience to the father.
Our tendency is to always put us at the center of the situations and think we need your undivided attention, while I didn't even know who on our side for sure there must be people needing more help than us. Other times we compare our suffering to Christ, but we forget that Jesus suffered so completely free, without any reason or Sin, while we, as sinners, we are often the cause of our own sufferings.
Following the example of the Master Jesus, who did not flinch in fulfilling the will of the father, we can leave the problems at hand who resolves, which is God, and enjoy more of our time to be useful to our next, trusting that tribulations are those surface active agents which God uses to work our character according to his perfect and goodwill. (APS)

Serving is a very rewarding exercise, even more with the guidance and support of God.

Necessitados / Needy

Necessitados
Leitura bíblica:
_________________

How many needs there are around us! Anywhere where we found people asking for our help. In today's text, Jesus draws attention to the fact that to follow him we should help the others. As Christians we must respond to the urgent needs which we are presented. We tend to think, to serve God, we have to do something very important or difficult. However, Jesus suggested to his disciples some simple tasks that anyone can do: have a bowl of food, offer a glass of water, host, donate clothes or shoes, visit the sick and many other day-to-day things. when we act like we don't serve the community, the city, the Church, but God-and that will be recognized when we get to the presence of the Lord.
The Christian has no choice but to serve. People mentioned in the text helped without thinking they were doing it for Jesus. They understood that, as his followers, was simply normal help the "little ones". So it must be the life of the Christian. Serve becomes an integral part of their daily life. The actions that will be accepted by God are those held by faithful Christians who serve not to be seen or receiving earthly rewards. An example is the story of a Christian soldier named Martin of Tours, regarded by some as a legend. It is said that when he walked into a town on a winter day, a beggar, shivering, asked him for alms. As I had nothing else to give, Martin took his cloak, tore it into two parts and gave one half to the poor man. That night he had a dream in which he saw angels and Jesus between them, using half the cover of soldier. Jesus would have said, grateful, that Martin had given him that mantle. (JG)
We must help those in need to receive something, but for the love of God!

Votos para Deus / Vows to God

Votos para Deus
Leitura bíblica:
_________________

Clame a mim no dia da angústia; eu o livrarei e você me honrará. (Salmo 50.15).
_________________

Vows to God
Bible reading:

Cry to me in the day of trouble; I will honor you. (Psalm 50.15)

What do you understand by the word "vote"? Don't vote for a candidate in an election, but one that can also be called promise, oath, intention, purpose or proposal.
Vow is a promise made to God so deliberate and free. Can also be a gesture of adoration and Thanksgiving. That's what made Jacob second reading today, when he fled from your brother Esau. This vow of Jacob after the vision of angels descending and climbing a ladder and of God reveal himself to him and confirm the Covenant he had made with his parents Abraham and Isaac, is first recorded in the Bible. What was it that he promised to God, and in response to what? Check Out.
After about 20 years, God charged that vote and said: "I am the God of Bethel, where you anointed a column and I made a vow. Get out of this land now and go back to your native land "(Genesis 31.13).
Later, in the time of Moses, the vote has been recognized as a spiritual practice, as it is written: "When someone brings an animal from the herd or the flock of sheep as an offering of communion to the Lord, in fulfillment of vow, or as a voluntary offer to be acceptable the animal must be without blemish and without blemish" (Leviticus 22.21). Here we note that the vote would be fulfilled through the offering of a sacrifice.
The Bible also teaches that no one is obliged to deliver votes to God, but if you do, you must fulfill his vow: "when you do a vote, do it without delay, because fools are displeasing to God; fulfill your vow. It is better not to vow than to make and does not fulfill "(Ecclesiastes 5.4, 5). In most cases the idea behind the votes seems to be wanting to buy the favor of God, which in any case is not possible. God wants to be honored by our trust in his grace and – of course – also by acts of gratitude for his love. Anything more than that. (MM)

God does not need our votes; We need your grace.
