Cuidados / Care

Cuidados
Leitura bíblica: 1 Tessalonicenses 3.1-5
_________________

Care
Bible Reading: 1 Thessalonians 3.1-5

Never tire of doing good (2 Thessalonians 3.13).

The Church of the Thessalonians was the second to be established by the Apostle Paul in European soil, located in the region of Macedonia (Northern Greece). It was a strong, steady in God's Church, and Paul, to write their first letter, speaks of the joy that had beautiful and sincere commitment of these brothers with the faith in Jesus, in spite of all the persecution that could bring. The text you read talks about the desire for Paul to know, because I was facing persecution. That's why they send Timothy to have news and support them so that all the work of Paul in toggle them on faith wasn't compromised in the face of the temptations and problems that that Church could be facing. How much care!
It's hard to see Christians Express so much concern with his brothers as seen in Paul. Instead of worrying about their own problems, safety and comfort, was a man who gave up he had to devote himself to God and to preach his Gospel of love. And took care of the people who embraced the faith as if they were children. Visiting them, praying for them, crying and if he's happy with them, suffered by them and was able to give his own life – which literally made spent his life to build the lives of so many men and women of his time, in a move that echoes to this day and will echo throughout eternity.
It makes you wonder what we devote our lives and concerns. If it is just for our money, vacations, new car or the latest technology, something is out of place. Beyond and above all this, we can and must make a difference in the lives of people, of which we can handle, bless, hear, help on the journey of faith or simply make them well, as an expression of the tireless love of God. How about being a little like Paul to someone on this day?

Love and take care of the next is also an expression of our love for God.

Cansados / Tired

Cansados
Leitura bíblica: Romanos 8.22-26
_________________

Tired
Bible Reading: Romans 8.22-26

Come to me, all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest (Matthew 11.28).

On vacation, my wife and I go for a walk in a beautiful public garden along with some family members. A two-year-old granddaughter always asked to walk without help from anyone. But when it got tired suddenly sat on the floor as a sign to Dad carry her on your shoulders! Minutes later, asked again to walk. The weariness reaches all ages, including the strongest (Isaiah 40.30). Jesus got tired on your walk through Samaria (Romans 4.6).
God created us for physical and mental activities, but also gave us the sleep to recover his strength. However, there are times when it's nearly impossible to feel good, as when someone meets children who cry at night. The physical and emotional weariness must not be cause to feel guilt, unless it is the result of sinful activities and abuse. Our text focuses on the general weakness of human beings since the fall of man in original sin. Adam was expelled from heaven in order to earn a living at the cost of hard work. Our heritage is of physical, mental and emotional suffering as long as life endures, because we are sinners as was Adam.
The same text animates the Christian to announce the redemption of the body, which will be like Christ when he comes (Romans 6.5). Our restoration includes soul and body to be at the end in perfect physical and spiritual state and could serve Christ eternally. This hope must comfort us in the read of life and animate all Christians who suffer and also elderly people facing problems of his age. In fact, God gives a boost to those who received healing from an evil, but generally leaves the normal life take its course to the end. A Christian old man always claimed: "I have nothing that the resurrection can't cure!" As our featured verse invites, happy is the one who trusts in the Lord, resting in the rest that he promises.

To physical weariness is there bed; for the spiritual, prayer.

A few days ago I saw a story in which a teenager was along with his colleagues participating in a demonstration. Watching television, his parents recognized among the demonstrators. Soon her father was until the place, took him by the arm and said he wouldn't let him stay there. The boy replied saying he wanted to attend, but his father insisted and took him home. The reporter, who asked him why he was behind the son, he explained: "I'm not going to give up on him, I do not wish to be a part of and that's not the way it was taught. I realized there the attitude of a parent doing its part in the preservation of the family, while today this institution has been the target of attacks by all sides. Need to be saved, protected.
In today's text, we saw that a city was to be destroyed and a woman to assume the leading role in his family, attained salvation for all members of your House. Although his attitude with his people is debatable, she did what she could for those who depended on her and took some positions that have ensured the salvation of her family, namely: 1) revealed a genuine faith by believing in the one true God able to save their relatives (verses 9-11); 2) marked with a red sign (verse 18), reminiscent of the presence of Christ in our families, since he died for us (same as Rahab or thought about it); 3) spoke up for their families (verses 12 and 13)-you have done it for your family?; 4) invited all members of the family to be at home, place of preservation (verse 18), and 5) would have to fight for anyone to leave the safe place: the home, the family. (verse 19). Just as God provided salvation for Rahab and her family, he continues to support us when we assume the responsibilities that we compete to achieve salvation of our families.
