Vida inteligente / Intelligent life

Vida inteligente
Leitura bíblica: Eclesiastes 7.1-6
____________________________________

Intelligent life
Reading biblical: Ecclesiastes 7.1-6
____________________________________
Show me the rest of my life and the number of my days, so I know how fragile I am (Psalm 39.4).
____________________________________
In the entire book of Ecclesiastes, the author is struggling with trying to find a meaning for life. He analyzes important topics, such as wisdom, politics, wealth, religion, but so far so is insufficient. None of the natural options, such as trust property, pleasure, Government or another source of hope, bring the expected results. What to do then?
Tired of reflections, the author gives up to find a meaning for life. So, he begins to seek a kind of wisdom "provisional", something that makes the survival day by day. Concludes that, even if it is not possible to understand the whole, one must at least be aware of your own situation and fragility. This is why he states that "it is better to go to a home where there's mourning than a house party" (verse 2a): Watch the fight brings wisdom because we cannot live as if we were never die. When we realize that you can't take life from party to party, without considering our mortality, we see how it is wise to understand the relationship of our existence with the brevity of human life. Face the reality of death brings us wisdom. Is what the psalmist also expressed in verse highlighted.
Would then be the case to go to a wake in wake instead of enjoying life? Of course not. Later, in Chapter 8, the master of Ecclesiastes proposes that before the misunderstanding with the greatest sense of life, we can at least use the good things that God has given us. But he makes it clear that this is a temporary solution, until a satisfactory conclusion. The true sense only reveals itself to us when we realize that life doesn't end here, but there's a result, which will appear when pay accounts to God (cf. Ecclesiastes 12.13-14).

Awareness of limitation is beginning of wisdom in the heart.

Preciso fechar o vidro!” “Meu bem, basta girar a manivela!”, respondeu mamãe.

Some time ago, have emerged on the market "flowers imported from China", made of thin fabric and almost perfect. Have to "water splash" and they feel real. My son bought an arrangement to give away: the flowers were gorgeous, lush and delicate at the same time. "They're beautiful, son! Artificial, no? " My son's response: "no, father, are natural; sprayed by florist. "
Well, they were "so natural that seemed artificial"; fiction imitating reality. Another fact: mom and I drove to church. When we arrived I noticed that a glass was downloaded and, seeking to lift it, searched by the command. I spent the hand on the Panel and I can't find the button. Then, without thinking and a little "off", I asked: "what's happening? Need to close the window! " "Honey, just turn the crank!", replied mom. Then I realized that I was in a car and not in our old Santana! They say my son is distracted-I think it was who pull ...
What I want to say with these "stories" we can fool us with situations that we are presented with the appearance or the artificiality of something. This can also happen in our spiritual life. Certain religious practices are presented with a "package" beautiful and natural about to confuse us. We run the risk of being mistaken to consider what's true to false and what is artificial as natural; We think we're in a place, while we are in another. If we are not vigilant, "connected", we believe we are praising the Lord God while we worship a leader, a temple, a liturgy or a gospel set. Anyway, I may be loving creatures and not the creator. I can think on my old Santana, when I'm actually in a car that's not even mine. You need to be always on, connected to the spirit of the living God!

Be careful not to be deceived by what seems real but is artificial.

Um belo futuro / A beautiful future

Um belo futuro
Leitura bíblica: 1 Pedro 1.3-9
____________________________________

A beautiful future
Reading biblical: 1 Peter 1.3-9

Our present sufferings cannot be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us (Romans 8.18).
____________________________________
Who among us doesn't dream about success in studies, in the profession, in love and in social life? To have a peaceful future in this life? It's good to have dreams that motivate us to live, but we can agree that in this life nothing is guaranteed. Even simple decisions and events can change our course. The philosophy of "Let us eat and drink for tomorrow we die" seduces us into thinking that take this life to the fullest is all that matters. But is that it?
Christians who Peter writes certainly had their dreams. But the difficulties were threatening your future. Went through trials designed to test your allegiance (4.12). Suffered defamation, threats and physical violence. The Romans were increasingly perplexed and hostile to growth and different life of Christians, this group is still recent in the life of the Empire. As the Apostle could encourage them in that difficult time? In today's scriptural reading, before I tell you how to live your faith in difficult times, the Apostle directs their thinking for the future. He claims that God, in your mercy, the regenerated so that they had a big hope, "an inheritance that can never perish, or macular lose your value. Heritage stored in the heavens for you "(verse 4). This is the future that they should be focused. While waiting for the eternal glory, this would be your great reason to rejoice in the midst of the uncertainties of the present, to the sadness and all kind of ordeal.
If there is someone with a wonderful future and eternal, is one that reconciled with God through faith in Christ. The horizon of your faith is not limited to this world, which will be submitted to the judgment of God, but achieves eternity. So Peter encourages me and you: "Put all hope in the grace that is given to them when Jesus Christ is revealed" (1.13b).
