Insensível / Insensitive

Insensível
Leitura bíblica: Obadias 1.1,10-14
____________________________________

Insensitive
Reading biblical: Obadiah 1.1,10-14
____________________________________
You shouldn't have had the mercy of your fellow servant just as I had on you? (Matthew 18.33).
____________________________________
God wants our lives, motivations, attitudes and reactions are consistent with your pattern. Being holy God, we must be Holy; though he is merciful and forgiving, it is our duty to act in the same way. When we are insensitive to the suffering of others, we act as Edom. The Prophet mentions an event probably occurred in the days of King Jehoram, when Jerusalem was attacked by enemies who took the city and led many Jewish captives. But the edomites (descendants of Esau and so relatives of the children of Israel) have not fulfilled the commandment of the moral conscience and the "duty" to protect the brother people. Before, took advantage of the circumstances and behaved as the aggressors, looting their suffering brothers.
Through the Prophet, God warns that lack of mercy with the down results in divine judgment against the insensitive. This insensitivity may show itself in three ways. The v 10 says that the action of Edom was a violence. Take advantage of the enemies of Israel amounted to perform personally. Already in v 11 the edomites are accused of ignoring the suffering of Jerusalem to take advantage. The insensitivity is manifested also in contempt by the difficulties of the next. Finally, the message of God declares that the insensitivity also equals to superb. In verses 12-14, pride and arrogance are characteristics of those who do not raise with the suffering of others.
In the context of the verse, Jesus tells a parable in that a servant cannot pass along the great compassion you received from your Lord. So, the lesson of Obadiah and also the parable of Jesus encourage us to be compassionate, sensitive and humble, always doing the best by those who suffer and are in need. After all, this is how God acts with us.

The love of Christ constrains us, even to show forgiveness and compassion!

Buscar ajuda / Get help

Buscar ajuda
Leitura bíblica: 2 Crônicas 16.11-17.6
____________________________________
O segundo rei mencionado no texto bíblico é Josafá.

It's good to retain a thing and didn't give up another, for he who fears God will avoid both extremes (Ecclesiastes 7.18).

Today we read about two Kings. The first, Asa, was dedicated to the Lord throughout your life. On one occasion, he sought the help of God to defeat the Ethiopian Army (2 Chronicles 14.11). However, I did the same with regard to your personal life: when he had a serious illness, only sought doctors and died. We know that when you're sick health professionals are people who are prepared to meet us and to provide the appropriate treatment, but this should not make us forget that God is sovereign over our life and the doctors. He can help and should be the first one to be searched when you need! Trust God more than medical treatment can change the whole situation.
The second King mentioned in the biblical text is Jehoshaphat. He "walked in the ways of Asa, your father, and has not deviated from them; did what the Lord approves "(2 Chronicles 20.32). He reigned in a balanced way (the featured verse teaches us to live this way), away from all the people turned to for help in the right place – God! He asked the End, King of Israel, to seek the advice of the Lord as an assault on the enemy (2 Chronicles 18.4); in this battle the deliverance obtained cry unto the Lord (2 Chronicles 18.31) and also when a huge army came against Judah (2 Chronicles 20.4).
The fact that with a serious illness, as well as the King Asa, shouldn't we take the focus to get help in the right place! On the contrary: the King could have remembered that maybe the best doctors of the time could not save him from death, but God Yes, with or without doctors! At the same time, not having a serious illness should not lead us to think that we're better than the other, but make us thankful for having health. So, if we need any help, either by an extremely serious reason or merely routine, God must be the first to be searched for.

Ingratidão / Ingratitude

Ingratidão
Leitura bíblica: Jeremias 2.4-8
____________________________________

Ingratitude
Reading biblical: Jeremiah 2.4-8
____________________________________
Thus says the Lord: "That lack their ancestors found in me, that they'd let me, and away from me?" (Jeremiah 2.5).
____________________________________
This question could be made to anyone in the world today. Everything the man does-philosophies, designs, entertainment, religion, economy – is used to run away from God.
The continuation of the verse highlighted says the community of Jacob: "followed worthless idols". In today's world, God can say the same of most of humanity. Then the Prophet States that the Lord was not sought. Who today seek the Lord and why do it? Seeking for personal interest. It seems that God will only be fetched and obeyed if meet all needs and vanities of men. All I ask of the Lord should enumerate the blessings he gave them: life, family, health, care, food, professional help to assist us, unknown God transforms into his slaves to us. Make a list of the things you have already provided. Don't forget any details. Hours, days and weeks will not be sufficient.
In this text we find the Lord suffered false accusations, oblivion of wonders operated in favour of the chosen people, the provision of a land where there was food. He deserved it?
God says that those responsible in leading the chosen people were all infidels. Priests, interpreters of the law, prophets, all missed with his duties. Let's do a lesson of the Lord Jesus. He stood before the tomb of Lazarus. Knew, resurrecting him, awoke the hatred of their enemies, but still gave thanks to his father, saying: "I thank you because you always listen to me" (John 11.41). How hard it is to obey God and thank him when we know that it will bring us suffering. Ingratitude towards God is twin sister of unbelief. It is serious because it shows a lack of love for him, and the love of God is the greatest of all the commandments.
