Agradecer / Thank

Agradecer
Leitura bíblica: Salmo 145.1-21
____________________________________

Thank

Offer to God in sacrifice to your gratitude, fulfill your vows to the most high (Psalm 50.14).

I had the opportunity to spend a period of three years on the staff of the Department where I work. During that time, something caught my attention: every month, when I got our paycheck, one of our colleagues, when you open it, began to complain about the salary he received because he felt too little. As she complained. This was repeated for a few months, until one day, in particular, made her the following question: "have you ever thanked God for this job and that salary? Stop to think how many people would love to be in your place? " She was kind of petrified with this unexpected question. No, she never had the idea to thank God for this opportunity so obvious. From that day on she stopped complaining.
In today's text, the psalmist to show us some reasons that cause us to be thankful to God. In verse 9 he states that God is good for everyone. That includes me as well as you. I think the greatest expression of the goodness of God was the fact of sending your Son to take us near you again. We just have to accept your gift. Adopted us as his children and so all we have or we are, comes from the goodness of the Lord. Then the verse 16 indicates that we should be thankful because it satisfies our wishes. How many projects and dreams of yours come true already? How not to thank for so many promises already achieved? Thirdly, in verse 18 the psalmist says that the Lord is near. This gives us a feeling of protection, of safety. At any time if we need it, he will come to our rescue. Can we be sure that we are not alone in our walk. God directs our lives with care and wisdom, for our salvation and to be unending joy of your company. The gratitude to God scatters the discouragement, let the sadness and give us the courage and the joy of living.

Advogado / Lawyer

Advogado
Leitura bíblica: Hebreus 7.17-28
____________________________________

Lawyer
Reading biblical: Hebrews 7.17-28
____________________________________
... If anyone sins, we have an advocate with the father, Jesus Christ the righteous (1 John 2.1b, ARA).
____________________________________

A lawyer turned to Christ and, as they grew in faith, to become more useful to the Christian community that he attended. One day she said to your pastor: "Pastor, would never allow one of our brothers go to a police station without the company of a lawyer." She went on to accompany each brother who needed your presence with the competent bodies.
The author of Hebrews compares the situation of the servants of God who lived under the law of Moses with those who live under the Covenant that God made with us in Christ. In the old Covenant, the condition was to obey the law. In case of disobedience, it was necessary a sacrifice to redeem the guilt of the offender. The priests were responsible for these sacrifices, acting as defenders of the people before God. And don't they lacked work. Thus, Israel had a long list of priests, because every generation was necessary go replacing the dying.
Ever Christ is different: your priesthood is eternal. When he came to this world, led a Holy life, blameless and pure. He didn't need any sacrifices to eliminate fault. More than that: he gave as a sacrifice (verse 27). And, having resurrected, that sacrifice Valley forever. Thus Jesus is both sacrifice and priest, as it is now with God, interceding for us (see headlines), asking the Father accept your sacrifice on our behalf. Who is this lawyer comforter!
You want the services of this advocate? Just recognize that you need it to be able to present clear and unblemished to God. Jesus will put between you and the father, who will see you through the sacrifice of your Son. In this trial, the Judge provides the best possible counsel for the defendant, but also here it's worth: the defendant decides if it will accept it or not. If you do not accept, will be sentenced by your own choice. If you accept, your acquittal is certain.

Crendices / Superstitions

Crendices
Leitura bíblica: Lucas 11.1-13
____________________________________

Naqueles dias terminava o inverno e começava a primavera.

Superstitions
Reading biblical: Luke 11.1-13
____________________________________
Until now you have not asked for anything in my name. Request and receive, request and receive for the joy of you is complete (John 16.24).
____________________________________

On one occasion, I was in another country and, while walking on the edge of a large lake, found a young man who was taking stones from the water and placing them on top of each other, in the form of altar. The work seemed a bit complicated, since the crumble stones below. But he wouldn't let it go. I approached and asked: "young man, what are you doing?" To which he replied: "I'm putting these rocks here, they might give me a bit of luck for next season." Those days ended and winter began to spring. The change took people to follow superstitions. In Brazil does not seem to be very different. With the arrival of the end of the year or beginning of new, or other important dates, such as birthdays, many people resort to popular sympathies to order. They range from in with his right foot in the House, use yellow or white clothing underwear, Park the car backing out of the driveway up to burn incense and use expensive perfumes, among others. All this for attracting some kind of luck to the new phase of life.
When Jesus taught his disciples to pray, not conditioned prayer the important days. We understand that at any time or day of the year we have a propitious moment to pray. You can talk to God at any time and in any place, whether in the Church, on the street or at home. We can also talk to him about any subject, and Jesus taught that we can ask that our joy may be full (see the verse highlighted). Regardless of schedules, days, seasons or years, whenever we can get closer to God to talk with him by prayer. He hears and understands what we can't express and responds appropriately, without need of superstitions or fairy tales. And your answer is always good.
VS
We do not need rituals, special words or other feature to talk to God. It's just talk.
