Leitura bíblica: Gênesis 18.16-21

"Ensine (a palavra do Senhor) com persistência a seus filhos. Converse sobre ela quando estiver sentado em casa, quando estiver andando pelo caminho, quando se deitar e quando se levantar" (Deuteronômio 6.7)

Provavelmente você conhece a história de Sodoma e Gomorra, cidades que foram destruídas por causa da perversidade. Se pensarmos um pouco na nossa época, dominada pela maldade, concluiremos que não estamos numa situação muito diferente (só não somos consumidos pela ira divina devido à misericórdia de Deus e ao seu grande amor por nós). Vivemos nesta realidade por existir cada vez mais um distanciamento entre o homem e Deus e porque aquilo que o Senhor ensina em sua Palavra não é levado em conta. Como resultado, encontramos pais desesperados com a rebeldia dos seus filhos, professores com alto grau de estresse, clínicas e centros de recuperação para dependentes químicos lotados e psiquiatras e psicólogos com uma demanda cada vez maior de pacientes.

Muito disso poderia ser evitado, ou pelo menos amenizado, se as pessoas decidissem ter um relacionamento com Deus e praticassem os princípios bíblicos. Se você é pai, saiba que Deus o escolheu para que mostre ao seu filho o caminho no qual deve andar, assim como fez Abraão, conforme lemos no texto de hoje. O mesmo vale para você que é mãe, avó ou avô. Ensine a seu filho ou neto o caminho que leva à vida eterna (Mateus 7.14).

Não conheci meu bisavô, mas ouço falar dele como alguém que aos domingos reunia sua família para um culto em sua casa. Naquela época, no início do século passado, a adoração a Deus em comunidade não era tão frequente. Seu filho, meu avô, andou neste mesmo caminho; meu pai vive com Deus e este bom ensinamento também recebi dos meus pais. Uma herança preciosa que hoje procuro passar para meus filhos. E quero desafiá-lo a fazer o mesmo. Não perca tempo: comece hoje a ensinar à sua família o caminho do Senhor, que leva à vida eterna em sua presença. - MP

You probably know the story of Sodom and Gomorrah, cities that were destroyed because of wickedness. Much of this could be avoided, or at least reduced, if people decide to have a relationship with God and to exercise biblical principles. If you are a parent, you should know that God chose him to show to his son the path in which to walk, as did Abraham, as we read in today's text. The same goes for you that is mother, grandmother or grandfather. Teach your son or grandson the way that leads to eternal life (Matthew 7.14).

Leitura bíblica: Jó 1.1-12

"Seja fiel até a morte, e eu lhe darei a coroa da vida" (Apocalipse 2.10c)

Jó era um homem fiel, que agradava a Deus com suas atitudes. Além disso, era muito rico, porém humilde. Deus confiava no caráter de Jó. A sua integridade moral era única.

Tudo ia muito bem na vida de Jó, até que a história ganha um novo rumo e sua situação se transforma drasticamente. Um dia que parecia ser semelhante aos outros transforma-se numa séria de tragédias (Jó 1.13-22). O que você faria se perdesse tudo? Certamente o choro, as reclamações e a revolta seriam inevitáveis. Mas sabe o que Jó fez? Prostrou-se e adorou a Deus, apesar de tudo. Na realidade ele não sabia o que estava acontecendo e é provável que tenha ficado confuso em meio à dor de ver o seu mundo desabando. Mas perder todos os seus bens e parte de sua família não significava que ele também tinha perdido a fé em Deus. Ele conhecia profundamente o seu Criador e sua grandeza.

A angústia era tanta que Jó amaldiçoou o dia do se nascimento (Jó 3.1), ou seja, preferia não ter vindo ao mundo para viver numa situação como aquela. Em geral, as pessoas estão dispostas a receber somete aquilo que é bom aos seus olhos, não querem que coisas más aconteçam com elas. Porém, Deus não permite que sejamos tentados além do que podemos suportar (1 Coríntios 10.13). Quando somos fracos, ele se mostra forte. Os problemas e as aflições fazem parte do plano divino para que a nossa fé e a nossa confiança em Deus cresça!

Analisando todo o contexto trágico da vida de Jó podemos concluir que ele tinha tudo para abandonar a fé e "cair fora". Aos olhos humanos todo aquele sofrimento era injusto. Contudo, ele permaneceu fiel e tinha a esperança de um final feliz (Jó 19.25). Mesmo em meio às dúvidas, ele esperou com paciência e não desistiu. E depois de um longo período de silêncio Deus se manifestou e mudou sua vida. Jó passou a conhecer a Deus ainda muito melhor. Além disso, o Senhor deu a Jó o dobro de seus bens e também outros filhos. - JSD

Job

Bible reading: Job1.1-12

"Be faithful unto death, and I will give you the Crown of life" (Revelation 2.10 h)

Job was a man faithful, which pleased God with their attitudes. In addition, it was very rich, but humble. God trusted in the character of job. His moral integrity was unique.

Everything was going very well in job's life, until the story wins a new direction and his situation becomes dramatically. A day that seemed to be similar to the other becomes a series of tragedies (Job 1.13-22). What would you do if you lose everything? Certainly the cry, the complaints and the revolt would be inevitable. But you know what Job did? Prostrated and worshipped God, though. In fact he did not know what was happening and is likely to have become confused amid the pain of seeing your caving world. But losing all his property and part of his family meant that he also had lost the faith in God. He knew thoroughly its creator and his greatness.

The anguish was such that Job cursed the day of birth (Job 3.1), i.e. preferred not to have come into the world to live in a situation like that. In General, people are willing to receive only what is good in your eyes, don't want bad things to happen to them. However, God does not allow us to be tempted beyond what we can bear (1 Corinthians 10.13). When we are weak, he is shown to be strong. The problems and sufferings are part of the divine plan for our faith and our trust in God to grow!

Analyzing all the tragic context of life of job we can conclude that he had everything to abandon the faith and "drop out". Human eyes all that suffering was unfair. However, he remained loyal and had hope for a happy ending (Job 19.25). Even in the midst of doubt, he waited with patience and didn't give up. And after a long period of silence God manifested himself and changed his life. Job came to know God even much better. Leiturabíblica: Apocalipse 20.11-15

"Deus trará a julgamento tudo o que foi feito, inclusive tudo o que está escondido, seja bom, seja mau." (Eclesiastes 12.14)

Infelizmente existem pessoas que agem como se não houvesse um Deus para julgá-las. Há quem diga precisar aproveitar ao máximo a vida e pratica todos os tipos de crimes, desrespeita as leis, o próximo e o meio ambiente. Outros até levam uma vida decente, mas fazem questão de ignorar o Criador. Em geral, essas pessoas pensam que, ao morrerem, tudo acaba. Enganam-se pensando assim: lemos hoje que haverá um julgamento final, com condenação eterna para os que não estiverem escritos no livro da vida. A inscrição no livro da vida é prometida àqueles que confiam em Jesus Cristo para serem aceitos por Deus (Lucas 10.20; Filipenses 4.3; Apocalipse 3.5). Estamos diante de um mundo que na sua maioria não que saber de Deus. Curiosamente, porém, essas pessoas usufruem das coisas criadas pelo Soberano, como tudo o que está na natureza. Têm tempo e recursos para tudo, exceto para Deus. Tirar proveito dessas dádivas é bom, mas é fatal não levar em conta aquele a quem as devemos - e nisso cada um responde por si. O texto que lemos hoje é bem claro ao dizer que nossa conduta presente influenciará nosso futuro eterno. Depois de mortos, nada nem ninguém poderá fazer o que quer que seja em nosso favor. O livro da vida é o registro dos que confiam em Jesus para serem justos diante de Deus.

Judged?

Biblereading: Revelation 20.11-15

"God will bring to trial all that was done, including everything that is hidden, whether good or bad." (Ecclesiastes 12.14)

Unfortunately there are people who act as if there were a God to judge them. There are those who say you need to make the most of life and practice all kinds of crimes, is in breach of the laws, the next and the environment. Other than lead a decent life, but they do matter to ignore the creator. In General, these people think that when you die, everything ends. Trick yourself thinking like this: we read today that there will be a final judgment, with eternal condemnation for those who are not written in the book of life. The inscription in the book of life is promised to those who trust in Jesus Christ to be accepted by God (Luke 10.20; Philippians 4.3; Apocalypse 3.5). We are facing a world that mostly do not know God. Interestingly, however, these people enjoy the things created by the sovereign, as everything is in nature. Have the time and resources for everything except for God. Take advantage of these gifts is good but is fatal not to take into account the one whom we-each one responds by itself. Shortly before this verse, the author alert to the importance of fear God and obey his commandments, because this is essential for the human being. The book of life is the record of that trust in Jesus to be righteous before God.

 Leitura Bíblica: João 13.1-17

 Quem quiser tornar-se importante entre vocês deverá ser servo (Marcos 10.43).

Eu trabalhava numa metalúrgica e nosso engenheiro-chefe fez uma reunião para nos pedir gentilmente uma ajuda especial: que todos parassem as máquinas uma hora e meia antes do horário da saída, que dessem uma boa limpada nelas e também que varressem todo o chão da fábrica, ajudando os dois encarregados da limpeza, pois eles não dariam conta de todo o serviço. Era uma limpeza geral de final de ano; entraríamos em férias coletivas e só voltaríamos na primeira semana de janeiro.

   À tarde começamos a faxina geral e, depois de algum tempo, nosso chefe desceu do seu departamento, pegou um vassourão e também começou a varrer. Notei então que todos começaram a imitar o engenheiro, mesmo os que somente limpavam as máquinas foram limpas e o chão deu uma impressão bem melhor do que antes. Naquela ocasião eu não conhecia Deus e não percebi que aquele acontecimento foi quase igual ao que aconteceu no texto que lemos hoje: Jesus dando um exemplo de verdadeiro líder, mostrando com humildade e iniciativa prática que temos de servir primeiro para depois sermos servidos. Pedro ficou perturbado com seu mestre lavando os pés dos seus discípulos: ele não precisava fazer isso, mas fez.

   Aquilo era trabalho de escravo - estes lavavam os pés dos seus senhores. Jesus lhes deu uma lição prática de liderança: se o líder deles lhes lavava os pés, eles não deveriam recusar-se no futuro a servir uns aos outros. Você conseguiria prestar um serviço humilde e desagradável a um estranho? Para fazer isso precisamos de amor, esforço e dedicação. Para comandar, primeiramente temos de ser obedientes, e nosso exemplo é Jesus, que obedeceu a Deus ao ponto de morrer na cruz em favor de nós.

Das muitas coisas que um líder precisa saber a primeira é saber servir.

Bible reading: John 13.1-17
