Aliança Leitura bíblica: Gênesis 31.22-36 _________________ “Cuidado! Não diga nada a Jacó, não lhe faça promessas nem ameaças” (Gênesis 31.24). _________________

Jacó ou Israel foi o patriarca do povo que Deus escolheu para se revelar à humanidade. Viveu 20 anos com Labão, casando-se com as duas filhas deste – Lia e sua predileta, Raquel. Depois Deus o mandou voltar ao seu antigo lar, longe dali. Foi sem avisar Labão, com quem tinha conflitos. Neste ponto começa a leitura bíblica de hoje.

É confortante ver o cuidado de Deus com sua gente! Ele havia feito uma aliança com Abraão. Esta valia também para seu neto Jacó e sua família. Naquele tempo, as tribos da região viviam ameaçando umas às outras e, com medo, inventavam seus próprios deuses. Cada chefe de família montava seu altar doméstico e era uma espécie de sacerdote ali.

Raquel não deve ter entendido a aliança de Deus com Abraão. Ignorando o poder que esta oferecia, furtou os deuses de seu pai tentando garantir sua segurança na viagem ao desconhecido. Se ela soubesse o que Deus dissera a Labão, jamais agiria assim! Confiou mais em seus próprios artefatos do que nas promessas de Deus, tal como é usual também hoje. Jacó e Raquel passaram um enorme risco por causa dessa atitude dela: ele garantiu que o portador daqueles deuses não ficaria vivo. Já imaginaram se Labão os encontrasse com Raquel?

Labão, porém, recebera duas ordens de Deus: não induzir Jacó ao erro (pois este poderia ser seduzido por promessas a desobedecer à ordem de Deus para voltar à terra de seu pai Abraão) e também preservar a vida física de Jacó. Deus também levou em conta a hipocrisia de Labão, expressa nos versos 27 e 28. Quanta providência da parte de Deus para manter seu povo seguro dentro dos padrões que determinou para ele!

Raquel era herdeira da aliança com Abraão e não se deu conta daquilo, enquanto a nós Deus oferece sua aliança por meio de Jesus Cristo. Nela suas promessas e seu cuidado valem também para nós. Por isso não precisamos de expedientes tortos como o de que Raquel lançou mão. (MJT)

Quem vive com Deus e sob seu cuidado não precisa de espertezas tortas.

Alliance Bible reading: Genesis 31.22-36 _________________ " Careful! Don't say anything to Jacob, don't make promises or threats "(Genesis 31.24). _________________

Jacob or Israel was the Patriarch of the people that God chose to reveal himself to mankind. Lived 20 years with Laban, marrying the two daughters of this – and his personal favorite, Raquel. Then God sent him back to his former home, far away. It was unannounced Laban, with whom had conflicts. At this point begins the biblical reading today.

It's comforting to see the care of God with his people. He had made a Covenant with Abraham. This value also to his grandson Jacob and his family. At that time, the tribes of the region were threatening each other and afraid, invented their own gods. Each householder was riding his home altar and was sort of a priest there.

Raquel must not have understood the Covenant of God with Abraham. Ignoring the power that this offered, stole the gods of his father trying to ensure their safety on the journey into the unknown. If she only knew what God had said to Laban, ever act like that! Trust your own artifacts than the promises of God, as is usual also today. Jacob and Rachel passed a huge risk because of her attitude: he ensured that the bearer of those gods wouldn't be alive. Have you ever wondered if Laban found them with Raquel?

Laban, however, received two orders of God: do not induce Jacob to error (since this could be seduced by promises to disobey God's order to return to the land of his father Abraham) and also preserve the physical life of Jacob. God also took into account the hypocrisy of Laban, expressed in verses 27 and 28. How much Providence from God to keep his people safe within the standards which determined for him!

Raquel was heiress of the Covenant with Abraham and didn't realize that, while the us God offers his Covenant through Jesus Christ. Her promises and their care are also for us. That's why we don't need expedients like crooked Raquel launched hand. (MJT)

Distante / Distant

Distante Leitura bíblica: Salmo 22.14-23 _________________ “Vivam pelo Espírito, e de modo nenhum satisfarão os desejos da carne” (Gálatas 5.16). _________________

Uma história conta que um garoto perguntou ao seu pai qual seria tamanho de Deus. Então, ao olhar para o céu, o pai avistou um avião e perguntou ao filho: “Que tamanho tem aquele avião?” O menino disse: “Pequeno, quase não dá para ver”. Então o pai o levou a um aeroporto e ao chegar próximo de um avião perguntou: “E agora, qual o tamanho deste?” O menino respondeu: “Nossa, pai, este é enorme!” O pai então disse: “Assim é Deus. O tamanho vai depender a que distância você estiver dele. Quanto mais perto você estiver, maior ele será na sua vida”.

A que distância você está de Deus neste momento? É interessante que às vezes estamos distantes de Deus e não percebemos. Isso porque nos distraímos com outras companhias. No lugar de ler a Bíblia, seguimos ideologias diversas. No lugar de buscar amizades com pessoas que amam a Deus, andamos com aqueles que não se importam com Deus.

O maior problema é que, quando isso acontece, nos aproximamos do pecado e não percebemos quando fazemos coisas erradas. Também já não nos importamos mais em cometer pecados que achamos necessários. Fazemos o que nos parece bom mesmo sabendo que está errado.

Assim, cada vez mais nossa sensibilidade e nosso amor vão desaparecendo e Deus vai sumindo nas nuvens, mas não nos importamos, pois nossa visão só vê o que está aqui na terra.

Mas chega uma hora em que percebemos estar distantes de Deus. Sentimo-nos como o salmista da nossa leitura bíblica, que afirma já não ter mais forças: todo seu vigor desapareceu, derreteu como gelo no calor. Nesta hora ele pede que Deus não se afaste dele. Reconhece que precisa de Deus para vencer tão grande batalha na vida. Ele diz: “Ó Senhor, vem depressa me socorrer, salva-me, livra-me”. Certo do livramento, compromete-se a contar em agradecimento o que Deus fez por ele e a adorá-lo de coração. (HSG)

Deus não está distante, nós é que nos afastamos dele.

Distant Bible reading: Psalm 23-22.14 _________________ "Live by the spirit, and by no means satisfy the desires of the flesh" (Galatians 5.16). _________________

A story has it that a young boy asked his father what would God size. So, when looking to the sky, the father spotted a plane and asked the child: "how big is that plane?" The boy said: "Small, almost can't see". So his father took him to an airport and to get around an airplane asked: "and now, what the size of this?" The boy replied, "Wow, Dad, this is huge!" The father then said: "That is God. The size will depend on how far you are from him. The closer you are, the more it will be in your life ".

How far away are you from God right now? It is interesting that we are sometimes away from God and not notice. This because we got distracted with other companies. In place of reading the Bible, we follow various ideologies. Instead of seeking friendships with people who love God, we walk with those who do not care about God.

The biggest problem is that, when this happens, we approach sin and we didn't realize when we do things wrong. Also I don't mind more on committing sins that we needed. Do what feels good even though it is wrong.

Thus, increasingly our sensibility and our love will disappear and God fades in the clouds, but we don't care, because our vision sees only what is here on Earth.

But there comes a time when we perceive to be far from God. We feel like the psalmist our biblical reading, which States no longer have the strength: all your force disappeared, melted like ice in the heat. At this time he asks that God doesn't get away from him. Recognises that needs God to win this great battle in life. He says: "o Lord, come quickly to help me, save me, free me." Right do release, undertakes to count in gratitude what God did for him and worship him with all my heart. (HSG)

God is not distant, we turn away from him.

Amor / Love

Amor Leitura bíblica: 1 Coríntios 13.13 _________________ Se vivemos no Espírito, andemos também pelo Espírito (Gálatas 5.25). _________________

Fala-se muito de amor, mas pouco se pratica dele. O amor verdadeiro é parte do fruto do Espírito Santo e encontra-se numa lista de 9 características do fruto do Espírito em Gálatas 5.22.

Jesus diz que o amor a Deus e o amor ao próximo são os principais mandamentos e deles depende toda a lei e os profetas (Mateus 22.38). Em Mateus 7.20 Jesus diz que pelos nossos frutos seremos conhecidos. Além deste fruto principal, o Senhor diz em João 15.8 que para glorificar o Pai e tornar-nos discípulos dele precisamos dar muito fruto. Todos estes textos não deixam dúvidas de que produzir o fruto do amor e os outros da relação de Gálatas 5.22 é necessário para apresentarmos ao mundo nossa identidade como cristãos, confirmar o que ensinamos e glorificar o Pai. Um bom discípulo de Cristo ama.

O amor ao Pai é aquele acima de qualquer outra preferência. Amor ao próximo é o amor caridade, que oferece sempre, sem esperar retribuição. Ambos são difíceis para nós, pois o amor ao Pai celestial é um tanto abstrato e há outras oportunidades concretas e presentes de amar, como por exemplo, o amor a um filho ou ao cônjuge. Fazemos sacrifícios e inventamos muitas atitudes para demonstrar a estes o nosso amor. Amar a Deus, que nunca vimos, dependerá totalmente de nossa fé e do reconhecimento do seu amor por nós. Será, portanto, um amor de retribuição pela bondade que Deus nos concede continuamente.

O amor ao próximo também enfrenta dificuldades: há os inimigos, os antipáticos, os feios, os aproveitadores e tantos outros que normalmente não conseguimos amar. Jesus, porém, sofreu, cuspiram nele, foi vítima de calúnias e seus próprios amigos o abandonaram. Amou-os assim mesmo? Sim! Ele foi capaz e nós como seus discípulos podemos aprender dele.

Procuremos aperfeiçoar-nos nessa prática, tanto em relação ao Pai celestial como também em relação ao próximo. (WK)

O amor de Deus nos habilita a beneficiar os outros sem retorno e a ter alegria nisso.

Love Bible reading: 1 Corinthians 13.13 _________________ If we live in the spirit, let us also walk by the spirit (Galatians 5.25). _________________

There is much talk of love, but little is his practice. True love is part of the fruit of the Holy Spirit and is in a list of 9 characteristics of the fruit of the spirit in Galatians 5.22.

Jesus says that the love of God and love of neighbor are the principal commandments and of them depends the whole law and the prophets (Matthew 22.38). In Matthew 7.20 Jesus says that by our fruit will be known. In addition to this main fruit, the Lord says in John 15.8 that to glorify the Father and make us his disciples need to take much fruit. All these texts leave no doubt that produce the fruit of love and the other the relationship of Galatians 5.22 is required to present to the world our identity as Christians, confirm what we teach and glorify the Father. A good disciple of Christ loves.

The love of the Father is the one above all other preference. Love of neighbor is the love charity, offering always, without expecting retribution. Both are difficult for us, for the love of the heavenly father is somewhat abstract and there are other concrete opportunities and gifts of love, as for example, the love of a child or spouse. We make sacrifices and invented many attitudes to demonstrate these our love. Loving God, we've never seen before, will depend entirely on our faith and the recognition of his love for us. It is therefore a love of retribution by the kindness that God grants us continuously.

Love of neighbor also faces difficulties: there are your enemies, the unsympathetic, the ugly, the profiteers and so many others who normally can't love. But Jesus suffered, spit on it, was a victim of slander and your own friends have abandoned him. Loved them anyway? Yes! He was able and we as his disciples can learn from him.

Let us try to improve us in practice, both in relation to the heavenly father as well as in relation to the next. (WK)

The love of God enables us to benefit others without return and have joy in that.
