Leitura bíblica: Deuteronômio 31.1-8

O próprio Senhor irá à sua frente e estará com você (Deuteronômio 31.8a).

No texto de hoje, o grande líder Moisés reconheceu que já não tinha mais condições de continuar guiando o povo de Israel. Deus revelara que ele não conduziria o povo para dentro da Terra Prometida. Então, dirigiu-se ao povo e a Josué, seu sucessor, para deixar suas últimas instruções.

Aos israelitas, Moisés relembrou as promessas divinas de que Canaã seria conquistada por eles, dando em seguida uma palavra de encorajamento: não precisavam ter medo das nações que ali habitavam, pois o Senhor iria com eles (verso 6). Também exortou Josué para que fosse “forte e corajoso” ao guiar o povo na conquista e na divisão da terra; disse que o Senhor estaria com ele e não o abandonaria jamais, por isso não havia motivos para desanimar (versos 7-8). Assim, “passou o bastão” da liderança encorajando seu sucessor e demonstrando confiança nele, para mostrar ao povo que este poderia segui-lo da mesma forma como havia seguido o próprio Moisés.

E você, já refletiu sobre o que faria se estivesse na situação de Moisés? Você está preparando alguém para assumir seu cargo no trabalho e orientando sua família para quando for preciso ausentar-se por algum motivo (doença, aposentadoria, mudança, etc.)?

Quanto ao trabalho, é preciso treinar alguém para que tal pessoa esteja preparada para assumir a sua posição quando isso for necessário. Quanto aos seus familiares, se você vive com Deus pode encorajá-los a permanecer no mesmo caminho que você trilhou, confiando que o mesmo Deus que está com você estará também com eles, se com fé entregarem suas vidas a Cristo. Por fim, na hora da despedida é bom lembrar o Salmo 90.1-2: “Senhor, tu és o nosso refúgio, sempre, de geração em geração. Antes de nascerem os montes e de criares a terra e o mundo, de eternidade a eternidade tu és Deus”.

The Lord himself will go to your front and will be with you (Deuteronomy to 31.8).

In today's text, the great leader Moses acknowledged that was no longer conditions to continue leading the people of Israel. God revealed that he did not lead the people into the promised land. So, went to the people, Joshua, your successor, to leave their last instructions.

The Israelites, Moses reminded the divine promises that Canaan would be conquered by them, giving a word of encouragement: they didn't need to be afraid of the Nations that inhabited, because you would go with them (verse 6). Also exhorted Joshua to be "strong and courageous" to guide the people in the conquest and partition of land; said you'd be with him and not leave ever, so there was no reason to discourage (verses 7-8). Thus, "passed the baton of leadership to encourage your successor and demonstrating confidence in him, to show the people that this would follow him in the same way as he had followed Moses himself.

And you, I reflected on what I'd do if I were in the position of Moses? You are preparing someone to assume your position at work and guiding your family when it takes away-if for any reason (illness, retirement, change, etc.)?

How much to work, you have to train someone for such a person is ready to take your position when this is necessary. As for your family, if you live with God can encourage them to stay on the same path you trod, trusting that the same God you will be with them, with faith surrender their lives to Christ. Finally, at the hour of parting is good to remember the Psalm 90.1 -2: "Lord, you are our refuge, always, from generation to generation. Before you were born the hills and create the Earth and the world, from everlasting to everlasting you are God. "

Leitura bíblica: Êxodo 13.21-22

[O Senhor] estendeu uma nuvem para lhes dar sombra, e fogo para iluminar a noite (Sl 105.39).

Após quase meio milênio de escravidão, os israelitas foram expulsos do Egito depois que Deus demonstrou seu poder. Deixavam o conhecido, por mais penoso que fosse, para enfrentar o deserto a caminho da Terra Prometida. Naquele momento não sabiam, mas a peregrinação duraria 40 anos! Iam preparados para lutar (Êxodo 13.18), mas não teriam chegado a Canaã sozinhos. Pouco depois da saída, pararam diante do mar. Se Deus não abrisse as águas, como seguiriam adiante? Porém, Deus não agia somente nos momentos críticos: estava com eles todos os dias, por meio de duas colunas, uma de nuvem e uma de fogo. Com elas, o Senhor guiou seu povo na travessia do deserto (Salmo 78.14).

Em nossas vidas também é assim. Não vemos colunas se movendo, mas Deus está presente e nos acompanha todos os dias. A partir do momento em que entregamos nossa vida a Cristo, somos libertos da escravidão ao pecado (tudo o que desagrada a Deus). Porém, não sabemos exatamente como Deus quer que vivamos agora que servimos a ele. Precisamos de sua direção segura, por meio da Bíblia, do Espírito Santo e da oração. Mesmo que surjam obstáculos pelo caminho, o que nos sustenta é saber que ele está conosco e pode até abrir os mares que impedem que continuemos nossa caminhada rumo ao Céu. Também temos de estar preparados para lutar, pois surgirão conflitos – com o mal, com os outros e com nossos maus desejos.

Não enxergamos colunas de nuvem e de fogo, mas percebemos a proteção diária de Deus enquanto ele nos guia. Cristo, a Luz do mundo (João 8.12), não nos deixa perdidos em trevas. Sua presença ilumina nossos passos, não permitindo que tropecemos. Assim, seja dia ou noite, podemos sempre caminhar com Deus. Ele não nos deixa sozinhos e nem age apenas quando temos grandes problemas, mas a cada passo. Siga sua direção com a certeza de estar no caminho certo!

[The Lord] put forth a cloud to give shade, and fire to light up the night (Psalm 105.39).

After almost half a millennium of slavery, the Israelites were expelled from Egypt after God has shown your power. Let the treasure, for more painful it was to face the desert on my way to the promised land. At that time they didn't know, but the pilgrimage will last 40 years! IAM ready to fight (Exodus 13.18), but would not have reached Canaan alone. Shortly after leaving, stopped in front of the sea. If God hadn't opened the waters, how would follow through with it? However, God wasn't acting only in critical moments: I was with them every day, through two columns, and a cloud of fire. With them, you guided your people across the desert (Psalm 78.14).

In our lives is also so. We don't see columns moving, but God is present and accompanies us every day. From the moment we turn in our life to Christ, we are freed from the slavery to sin (everything that displeases God). However, we don't know exactly how God wants us to live now that we serve him. We need your safe direction, through the Bible, the Holy Spirit and prayer. Even if obstacles arise along the way, what sustains us is knowing that he is with us and may even open up the seas to prevent that we continue our walk towards the Sky. We must also be prepared to fight, because there will be conflicts – with evil, with others and with our evil desires.

Don't see columns of cloud and fire, but we realize the daily protection of God as he guides us. Christ, the light of the world (John 8.12), don't leave us lost in darkness. His presence brightens our steps, not allowing that we stumble. So, day or night, you can always walk with God. He won't let us alone and not acts only when we have big problems, but every step of the way. Follow your direction with the sure to be on the right track!

Ó Jerusalém, lave o mal do seu coração para que seja salva. (Jeremias 4.14a).

Alguns anos depois que Deus designou Jeremias para ser profeta (627 a.C.), o piedoso rei Josias iniciou uma reforma religiosa. Seu pai, Amom, foi desobediente a Deus, mas Josias seguiu outro exemplo: “Ele fez o que o Senhor aprova e andou nos caminhos de Davi, seu predecessor” (2 Reis 22.2a).

Podemos resumir a mensagem de Deus por meio de Jeremias em três enfoques: 1) No início, Jeremias conclamou o povo a abandonar a idolatria, numa última tentativa de evitar o castigo de Deus – se não se arrependesse seria disciplinado por meio do exílio na Babilônia; 2) A partir do capítulo 36, a mensagem fica mais contundente, pois o castigo se tornara inevitável. A invasão dos babilônios já era uma certeza, e o melhor a fazer seria submeter-se a eles, evitando mais dor e sofrimento e 3) Mas a mensagem só fica completa com o terceiro enfoque: para o futuro, depois da dura disciplina e do arrependimento, o profeta proclama a restauração que Deus daria ao seu povo por meio de uma nova aliança (31.31-34).

Em Jeremias, tudo gira em torno da necessidade do retorno para Deus. O capítulo quatro é um convite a essa submissão, pois isso salvaria o povo do terror inimigo que se avizinhava. Era necessário deixar a maldade para que isso fosse possível (versículo em destaque). Aquele povo dizia pertencer a Deus, mas vivia atolado nos seus próprios desejos maus e na idolatria. Infelizmente a reforma de Josias não teve êxito e o apelo de Jeremias não foi ouvido. O arrependimento não aconteceu.

Como está a nossa situação hoje? A advertência de Deus continua valendo. Se a ignorarmos, talvez não sejamos exilados em outro país, mas a escuridão na nossa mente será a mesma. Confiemos na promessa do Senhor: “Eu lhes perdoarei a maldade e não me lembrarei mais dos seus pecados” (Jeremias 31.34b) e entreguemos nossa vida a Cristo!

Repentance

Reading biblical: Jeremiah 4.1-9

Oh Jerusalem, wash the evil in your heart for it to be saved. (Jeremiah 4.14a).

A few years later that God appointed Jeremiah to be a Prophet (627 BC), the pious King Josias started a religious Reformation. His father, Amon, was Naughty to God, but Josiah followed another example: "he did what the Lord approves and walked in the ways of David, your predecessor" (2 Kings 22.2).

We can summarize the message of God through Jeremiah in three approaches: 1) at the beginning, Jeremiah called the people to abandon idolatry, in a last attempt to avoid punishment from God-if you do not repent would be disciplined through the exile in Babylon; 2) from chapter 36, the message becomes more forceful, because the punishment had become inevitable. The invasion of the Babylonians was already a certainty, and the best thing to do would be to submit to them, avoiding more pain and suffering and 3) But the only message is complete with the third approach: for the future, after harsh discipline and repentance, the Prophet proclaims the restoration that God dari to your people through a new Alliance (31.31-34).

In Jeremiah, everything revolves around the need of returning to God. Chapter four is an invitation to this submission, because that would save the people of terror looming enemy. It was necessary to leave the evil to make this possible (verse headlines). Those people said to belong to God, but lived jammed in their own evil desires and idolatry. Unfortunately the reform of Josiah was unsuccessful and the appeal of Jeremiah was not heard. Repentance has not happened.

How is the situation today? The warning of God still stands. If we ignore it, we may not be in exile in another country, but the darkness in our minds will be the same. Trust in the Lord's promise: "I will forgive the evil and don't remember most of their sins" (Jeremiah 31.34 b) and we give our life to Christ!
