Abraço escrito
Leitura bíblica: Filipenses 1.1-2
_________________
Duas profundas palavras concluem o cabeçalho dessa carta.

Grace and peace to you from God our father and the Lord Jesus Christ (Philippians 1.2).

Hardly anyone could create an introduction more warm than this by writing a letter to brothers of faith. When we read the book of acts, we are told of the strong fellowship and the deep communion between Paul and Timothy. They present themselves as servants. So Paul was himself, while the other called saints. Paul has always considered his Christian Ministry focusing on two aspects. Be chosen Apostle was a great mercy and a great honor from Christ to his person. This shows humility.
Atos 16.11-40 count the start of Paul's relationship with the Philippians, and the intense experiences there allow you to imagine the affection that the Apostle felt by its readers. He directs his letter to supervisors and to the Deacons at that Church. Out of that environment, the term Deacon was a slave trained to meet readily your Lord. As award for his promptness in providing service, could maybe spoon in the face of the Lord a smile of approval and joy. That message to the Deacons today provide services in churches. How many joys the deacon or servant Paul reaped by attending to the orders of the holy spirit which resulted in the report of Acts 16!
Two deep words conclude the header of that letter. Grace, whose root is joy-because God is Father, and peace, the gift of Grace's Father, granted us through the sacrifice of Christ.
To be able to drive as others love words, as Paul. He had readers as occupants of your heart. To remember them, I began to thank God and to consider them brothers and children in the faith. Is a typical example of which is Christian Fellowship-something who knows you don't want to lose anymore.

I'm currently recovering from surgery; so I can't do physical effort and also need to take care of the power supply (ingesting preferably whatever liquid and/or Pasty). Is a "strange": suddenly I can't do what I always did and sometimes automatically would like to do.
Reflecting on this, I saw how God allows you to spend moments in our lives where we were limited in our actions, even those that usually did. It is a time of waiting to see how God will guide us, or so of change – we must act differently than we were doing. Anyway, we know that this is all for our own good.
See then how important it is to trust in what God is doing or trying to do in my life or through it. In my case, I need to rely on the guidance of the doctor and avoid some actions now to not break some point or cause problems at the site of surgery that would harm me in the future. I have a lot more and be quieter because an external point of surgery. But back to the issue of trust in the Lord, we must remember that he wants the best for us and if we are in a moment of doing nothing, we need to wait for your guidance to move forward again. In the text we read today about the people of Israel, that followed the order of "March" as the Lord guided, that is, as the cloud climbed or descended on the Tabernacle. The Israelites were always in anticipation of when would continue your walk. Sometimes they were stopped for a longer period; in other times, not. Similarly, if we want to please God and be successful, the decision to do or not do something in our life must also be always as the Lord's guidance.

Deus fala / God speaks

Deus fala
Leitura bíblica: 1 Reis 19.1-13
_________________

God speaks
Bible Reading: 1 Kings 19.1-13

After the fire there was the buzz of a gentle breeze (1 Kings 19.12 (b)).
_________________
Elias was a simple man like us. Faithful servant, faced a serious crisis when the Queen Jezebel wanted to take his life because he confronted her, practices that were detestable to the Lord. He was afraid and he got depressed, but God didn't abandon him.
I want to highlight how God spoke. In his escape, an Angel visited Elias. After that, God himself spoke to him. How many times do we wish the Lord give us the grace to hear his voice, as we listen to what other people tell us, or receive an Angel carrying a divine message. We know that God still does, because he does not change (Psalm 102.27). But that's not how I usually act.
When God spoke to Elijah, that isn't the way this expected: in the strong wind, the earthquake or the fire. Although God was on fire when he spoke to Moses (Exodus 3.1-4) didn't act the same way with Elias. How do we know that God is powerful, we want to condition your act the impressive manifestations. But he is Lord of all things and wanted to use a breeze to manifest the Elias. In our life we also need to hear the voice of God. As he does not manifest to us the way we want to, think he isn't talking and stayed in the cave, suffering. God speaks to us in other ways. For example, that "sixth sense" that we have now and again but this could be the holy spirit guiding us about a situation.
Perhaps the greatest miracle is not receiving a message by an Angel or hear a thunderous voice talking, but recognize the whisper of the Lord amidst the noises of our wills, of the opinions of others or evil innuendos. This is easier when you have an intimate relationship with God. So, give your life to Christ and let him talk through the Bible and also personal guidance. Listen to what God says, but don't just admiring him talking to you: observe, putting into practice what he commands.

Lord, help us to understand your voice also in the "whisper of the breeze".

Ler e aprender / Read and learn

Ler e aprender
Leitura bíblica: Romanos 15.4-5
_________________

The Bible is the best-selling book in the world, available in thousands of languages and dialects, including in excellent translations in English. It contains historical data and not a few poetic works of great beauty that attract scholars who over she arranged, sometimes with purely academic interest.
But Jesus is the great subject of the Scripture. The old testament points all the time to him, the new focus your life, Ministry, expansion of its church, letters to indoctrinate their followers, and the beautiful Revelation reveals a living Jesus who cares about their (and soon to be back).
To read the Scriptures, it is possible to meet Jesus, but it is also possible to read and keep "the same size", sometimes more "bloated" of human wisdom. Recently, while driving on the road, I was annoyed, thinking that the day had a strange fog that obstruct my vision. My wife then asked my sunglasses and did the favor of cleaning their lenses; the fog has lifted. Figuratively, each of us uses its own glasses for reading the Scriptures, that is, our assumptions and mental disposition. A "wise" can open them to academic explorations, enjoy poetry, extract beautiful quotes, and get just that. Dirty glasses of arrogance and pretension you dazzle the sight – and many wise according to this world end life as fools who do not recognize the immense treasure in your hands, unable to come down from their pedestals to surrender to Jesus alive.
However, if my glasses are broken someone we know, eager to meet Jesus, drink from its source and as his apprentice to walk step by step to become his imitator, the Holy Spirit will cause the word don't come back empty and produce their fruits.

Cobiça / Greed

Cobiça
Leitura bíblica: 1 Timóteo 6.6-10
_________________

Greed
Bible Reading: 1 Timothy-10 6.6
_________________
Having enough to eat and get dressed, we're satisfied with it (1 Timothy 6.8).
_________________
It is interesting to observe the behavior of a child during a meal. In a few moments, she forgets what's on your plate to observe what others are eating. Sometimes she calls attention saying that also want more, but can't even eat everything that is already on your plate.
Greed, that is the desire to have more, is something present in the lives of many people. Unfortunately we live in a time in which we're encouraged to have more and better. Our society is not satisfied with the basics. The person who has just enough to eat and that dress is, in some cases, seen as blessed, because not even the blessings of God are being identified with material prosperity and money.
In verse, Paul invites us to be satisfied with what is essential for life, that is, to approach us with what we have. God is not opposed to wealth, since she did not divert us from the faith. It doesn't matter if you have too much or too little; Thank God for what you have and be happy. I've seen people greedy for more, and it took them to reverse the priorities in your life. As a result, the life of faith began to stay in the background. However, instead of satisfaction came from the frustration and unhappiness.
Today I want to invite you to look at his "plate" and see what God has placed him. Thank God for so many good things. You don't need all that others have. Greed will bring you only sorrow and forgetfulness of what has. If you don't learn to cultivate contentment, even though double what you have today still be unsatisfied. So cultivate piety with pleasure and you will have great source of profit. Because the greatest wealth that we have is in God and not in material prosperity.

Olhar para trás / Look back

Olhar para trás
Leitura bíblica: Gênesis 19.22-26
_________________
(Filipenses 3.13-14)
_________________

Look back
Bible Reading: Genesis 19.22-26
_________________
Forgetting those things which are behind, and advancing to the that are ahead, I press on. (Philippians 3.13-14)
_________________
In my childhood I imagined the scene: the family running the hillside above, only with the clothes. The city, not far away, could still be seen. Burning stones fell from the sky. Nothing more natural than to look back. Why would God punished so severely lot's wife by the seemingly innocent Act to look at the city that stayed behind?
We can think a little about it. Sodom and Gomorrah were cities condemned by the constant practice of repugnant acts. It should be difficult for the family of lot living there without getting infected. They should have relationships, friends. His daughters were even promised to marry him. Lot had a source of income, the family owned goods. In the middle of a seemingly normal life, they receive from God the order to leave that place immediately without looking back.
This term is usually not used literally. We look back when we miss something we live. In his escape, lot's wife might have stopped for a few seconds to contemplate the destruction of your House, your neighbors, the city in which he lived for so long. But it is likely that, in her heart, she also has "looked back" so nostalgic, lamenting the life left.
Today God also calls us to a new life. He has plans of growth and hope (Jeremiah 29.11), a full life for us (John 10.10). If he calls you to leave the place, to abandon sin and live in a totally different way, don't be afraid. Don't look back. Proceed. God loves you and dreams of turning everything around. The only thing it requires is that you trust your Word and listen to your voice.
BB

Jesus is the new and living way. Don't look back.
