Dê a preferência / Give preference

Leia em sua Bíblia: Gênesis 13.1-12

"Prefiram dar honra aos outros mais do que a si próprios" (Romanos 12.10)

"Quem parte e reparte, e não fica com a melhor parte, é bobo e sem arte".

Sempre ouvia esse ditado de um dos meus irmãos, quando eu ainda era criança. Nunca o esqueci, embora tivesse dificuldade para agir assim, porque ficava sem graça de sempre escolher a melhor parte.

No texto da leitura, encontramos, Abrão e Ló, enfrentando dificuldades para sustentar seus rebanhos, porque estes eram grandes demais para a terra que ocupavam. Surgiu conflito entre seus trabalhadores. Abrão então, por querer manter a paz na família, propõe a Ló, seu sobrinho, que se separem. Sendo o mais velho, a preferência era de Abrão, mas ele generosamente permitiu que Ló escolhesse primeiro, acatando a sua decisão sem discussão.

Aparentemente Abrão saiu perdendo com isso.

O ser humano age como Ló: o negócio é levar vantagem e ter a melhor porção da partilha. O nosso impulso natural é sempre olhar primeiro para nós mesmos: quero ter mais proveito, chegar primeiro, fazer valer meus direitos. Não paramos para ouvir as razões dos outros e nem consideramos  seus interesses ou desejos. Na ânsia de escolher um bom lugar, Ló acabou fazendo a pior escolha. Por olhar somente as vantagens exteriores, foi para o pior lugar possível. Mal sabia ele que dessa forma perderia sua terra, seu lar, sua esposa, pois a cidade onde se estabeleceu e aquela linda planície verdejante, foram totalmente destruídas por causa da maldade das pessoas que moravam ali (Gênesis 19).

Abrão, porém, ao dar a preferência a Ló, demonstrou sua fé de que, qualquer que fosse a escolha de seu sobrinho, ela não interferiria na promessa que Deus havia preparado para ele próprio.

Ao desistir do controle sobre sua escolha, demonstrou maturidade e confiança de que sua porção já tinha sido previamente escolhida por Deus.( LFS)

Escolha deixar Deus escolher.

Give preference

Read in your Bible: Genesis 12-13.1

"Prefer to give honor to others more than themselves" (Romans 12.10)

"Who part and portion, and is not the best part, is silly and without art".

Always heard this saying of one of my brothers, when I was still a child. Never forgot, although had difficulty to do so, because it was dull, always choose the best part.

In the text of the reading, we find, Abram and lot, struggling to sustain their flocks, because these were too big for the land that they occupied. Conflict arose between its employees. Abram then, for wanting to keep peace in the family, it is proposed to lot, his nephew, that if separate. Being the eldest, the preference was Abram, but he generously allowed that lot chose first, taking its decision without discussion.

Apparently Abram came out losing with this.

The human being acts as Lot: the business is take advantage and have the best portion of shares. Our natural impulse is always look first to ourselves: I have more advantage, first come first served, to assert my rights. Don't stop to listen to others and not consider their interests or desires. Hoping to choose a good place, lot just doing the worst choice. By looking at only the external advantages, went to the worst place possible. Little did he know that this way would lose his land, his home, his wife, as the city where he settled and that lovely green plain, were totally destroyed because of the wickedness of those who lived there (Genesis 19).

Abram, however, to give preference to lot, demonstrated their faith that, whatever the choice of his nephew, she would not interfere in the promise which God had prepared for himself.

To give up control over your choice, showed maturity and confidence that their part had already been previously chosen by God.( LFS)

Choose to leave God to choose.

As pedras clamarão / The stones will cry

"Não estamos agindo certo. Este é um dia de boas noticias, e não podemos ficar calados" (2 Reis 7.9).

A multidão estava eufórica. Transbordava de alegria pelos milagres que Jesus realizara. Não conseguia calar-se. Jesus estava entrando em Jerusalém. Era o momento certo de adorar em alta voz e contar tudo o que ele tinha feito. "Bendito é o Rei que vem em nome do Senhor!" "Paz no céu e glória nas alturas!"

Mas havia alguns que não estavam contentes em ver a multidão feliz.

Eram os fariseus. Eles queriam que os discípulos se calassem. Jesus, então, responde: "Se eles se calarem, as pedras clamarão".

Jesus deixa claro com isso, que não havia mais como esconder que Ele era o Messias. De nada adiantaria calar os discípulos, pois até as pedras poderiam gritar.

O Filho de Deus estava entrando em Jerusalém. Era o Rei eterno que chegava. Os discípulos compreenderam essa mensagem e por isso o adoravam e se alegravam com a vinda do Messias prometido, a chegada da salvação. As boas novas estavam sendo reveladas na pessoa do Senhor Jesus. 

Ele veio paras reinar na vida dos cristãos.

O cristão não pode ficar com a boca fechada. O Evangelho precisa ser anunciado.

Quando Jesus redime uma pessoa que crê, ela passa a ter dentro de si, uma maravilhosa mensagem a transmitir.

O versículo em destaque, refere-se a uma ocasião, em que inimigos tinham sitiado Samaria, e o povo passava por grande fome. Casualmente, quatro leprosos que moravam fora da cidade, descobriram que o exército inimigo, tinha fugido. No primeiro momento, tiraram proveito próprio da situação, comendo e bebendo, mas logo perceberam seu erro, chegando à conclusão: "Não estamos agindo certo! (...) Não podemos ficar calados!"

Que o nosso coração também possa se alegrar tanto com a salvação recebida, que transborde e nos leve falar de Jesus - simplesmente porque não conseguimos ficar calados! – (JG)

Fala, e não te cales, do que Deus tem feito por ti.

The stones will cry

Read in your Bible: Luke 19.37-40

"We are not acting right. This is a day of good news, and we must not remain silent "(2 Kings 7.9).

The crowd was jubilant. Overflowing with joy by the miracles that Jesus had. Couldn't shut up. Jesus was coming into Jerusalem. It was the right time to worship in a loud voice and tell everything he had done. "Blessed is the King who comes in the name of the Lord!" "Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!"

But there were some who were not happy to see the crowd happy.

Were the Pharisees. They wanted the disciples if silenced. Jesus then responds: "If they were silent, the stones will cry".

Jesus makes it clear with this, that there was no more hiding that he was the Messiah. Anything good would silence the disciples, because until the stones could scream.

The son of God was coming into Jerusalem. Was the Eternal King who came. The disciples understood this message and so loved and if alegravam with the coming of the promised Messiah, the arrival of salvation. The good news were being revealed in the person of the Lord Jesus.

He came to reign in the lives of Christians.

The Christian can not stay with the mouth closed. The Gospel needs to be announced.

When Jesus redeems a person who believes she is inside, a wonderful message.

The featured verse refers to an occasion, in which enemies had besieged Samaria, and the people passing by the great famine. Incidentally, four lepers who lived out of town, they discovered that the enemy army, had fled. At first, took advantage of the situation, eating and drinking, but soon realized his mistake, concluding: "we are not acting right! (...) We must not remain silent! "

That our hearts can also rejoice with both salvation received, overflow and leads us to speak of Jesus-simply because we couldn't remain silent! -(JG)

Speech, and not shut up, than God has done for you.

Maldades / Evil Deeds

Leia em sua Bíblia: Isaías 59.1-21

"As suas maldades separaram vocês do seu Deus; os seus pecados esconderam de vocês o rosto dele, e por isso ele não os ouvirá" (Isaías 59.2).

Na Alemanha, existe um parque onde é possível brincar com nossos cinco sentidos. Lá visitei uma casa completamente escura em seu interior, mas toda mobiliada. Um guia deficiente visual conduziu-me pelos cômodos, perguntando se eu "via" que objetos ali estavam. A prova final foi sentar-se à mesa e tomar uma xícara de café. A sensação de não saber se conseguiria levar a bebida até a boca foi terrível!

Enquanto nossa vida se encontra dominada pelo pecado (tudo o que desagrada a Deus), nós vivemos assim: tateando sem saber se estamos no rumo certo.

Nossa vida é dominada pelo pecado. A maldade nos encobre, como se fosse uma densa treva e nos impede de ver nossa situação de forma clara, por isso, não é possível seguir adiante como se o problema não existisse. No caminho, acabamos por tropeçar e até nos machucamos. Quando a maldade, a injustiça e a mentira reinam em nossa vida, sentimos completa falta de paz conosco, com nosso próximo e também com Deus.

O texto de hoje nos diz que, apesar de experimentar estas consequências tão ruins, o povo não buscou o Senhor por meio da oração. Foi necessário então que Deus demonstrasse sua ira e agisse com justiça e poder, revelando às pessoas sua real condição diante dele.

Hoje, a ameaça do juízo de Deus não deve ser lembrada para nos amedrontar, mas para nos conduzir ao arrependimento e à confissão daquilo que desagrada ao Senhor.

Não há outro caminho a não ser o de reconhecer a nossa situação: nossa maldade nos deixou cegos! Temos vivido longe do Senhor! Estamos acreditando nas mentiras que nós mesmos criamos! Quando admitimos tudo isso, libertamo-nos de uma grande carga e passamos a enxergar a vida com os "olhos da fé" em Cristo Jesus.

Ele é o "Deus Conosco" (Mateus 1.23), que transforma a vida de cada um que se arrepende e se coloca diante do Pai com coração quebrantado. (AS)

A oração de quem se arrepende e pede perdão tem resposta imediata.

Evil Deeds

Read in your Bible: Isaiah 59.1-21

"Their evil deeds separated you from your God; your sins have hidden his face from you, so he did not hear "(Isaiah 59.2).

In Germany, there is a park where you can play around with our five senses. There I visited a house completely dark inside, but all furnished. A visually impaired guide led me through the room, asking if I "via" that there were objects. The final test was to sit at the table and have a cup of coffee. The feeling of not knowing if I could take the drink to the mouth was terrible!

While our life is dominated by sin (anything that displeases God), we live like this: groping without knowing whether we are in the right direction.

Our life is dominated by sin. The evil in man, as if it were a dense darkness and prevents us from seeing our situation clearly, therefore, it is not possible to move forward as if the problem did not exist. On the way, we stumble and even in hurt. When the evil, injustice and falsehood reign in our lives, we felt complete lack of peace with us, with our next and also with God.

Today's text tells us that, although experience these consequences so bad, the people did not seek the Lord through prayer. It was necessary so that God showed his anger and act with justice and power, revealing to people its real condition before him.

Today, the threat of judgment of God should not be remembered for in fear, but to lead us to repentance and confession of what displeases the Lord.

There is no other way except to acknowledge our situation: our evil left us blind! We have lived far from the Lord! We are believing the lies that we create ourselves! When we admit all this, We are liberated a big load and we see the life with the eyes of faith "in Christ Jesus.

He is the "God with us" (Matthew 1.23), which transforms the life of every one who repents and is placed before the father with a broken heart. (AS)

The prayer of one who repents and asks forgiveness has immediate response.

Anzol / Hook

"Submetam-se a Deus. Resistam ao diabo e ele fugirá de vocês" (Tiago 4.7)

No livro "O Velho e o Mar", o escritor conta a história de um pescador experiente, que há tempos não pescava nada. Em alto mar, ele lança o anzol com uma isca apetitosa e espera pacientemente a chegada de um peixe. De repente, a linha se move. Uma fisgada. Outra, e outra mais. Lá está o grande peixe. "Anda cá", diz o velho, "faça a volta. Não seja tolo, peixe, coma a isca agora mesmo. Não fique aí nadando daqui pra lá, coma". Ao morder a isca, o peixe percebe que não pode ir mais longe, porque o anzol o segura. Agora ele está preso ao pescador.

Assim como o pescador espera o peixe em alto mar, a Bíblia nos ensina, que há alguém à procura do cristão. Ele tem um anzol coberto por uma isca que chama atenção.

No livro de Jó, lemos o diálogo que Deus travou com Satanás: "De onde você veio?" "De perambular pela terra e andar por ela" (Jó 1.7).

Ele rodeia o mundo pacientemente, lançando anzóis com iscas convidativas - sempre preparadas com aquilo que mais atrai o coração humano. Está procurando agarrar alguém que aceite o seu oferecimento.

No texto que você leu hoje, Pedro compara satanás a um leão faminto. Seu ataque é fulminante. O cristão se vê agarrado pelo inimigo. É como um peixe seguro pelo anzol.

A luta começa. É uma batalha extraordinária. Podemos tentar resistir tenazmente, mas somente venceremos, com a ajuda daquele que é mais poderoso do que satanás. Nada mais pode nos ajudar - nem vontade, religião, trabalho ou família. Somente Jesus tem o poder que seus seguidores precisam para vencer a luta contra o inimigo, que está ao seu redor, lançando o anzol com iscas apetitosas.

Assim como o pescador prepara a isca específica para o peixe que quer pegar, também Satanás usa atrativos diferentes.

Cada cristão deve olhar para si mesmo, conhecer suas fraquezas, buscar a ajuda de Deus e resistir aos convites de Satanás. – (JG)

Que Cristo nos ajude a escapar das iscas lançadas por Satanás.

Hook

Read in your Bible: 1 Peter 5.8-11

"Submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you "(James 4.7)

 In the book "the old man and the sea", the writer tells the story of an experienced fisherman, that there are not times captured nothing. On the high seas, it throws the hook with an appetizing bait and waits patiently for the arrival of a fish. Suddenly, the line moves. A strike. Another, and another. There is the big fish. "Walk this way", says the old man, "make the. Do not be a fool, fish, eat the bait right now. Don't be there swimming from here to there, eat ". To bite the bait, the fish realizes that cannot go further because the hook the safe. Now it is stuck to the fisherman.

Just as the fisherman waiting for fish on the high seas, the Bible teaches us that there is someone looking for the Christian. It has a hook covered by a lure that draws attention.

In the book of job, we read the dialogue that God has fought with Satan: "where did you come from?" "Wander the Earth and walk it" (Job 1.7).

It surrounds the world patiently, throwing hooks with inviting lures-always prepared with what most attracts the human heart. Is looking to grab someone who accepts your offering.

In the text you read today, Peter compares Satan to a hungry lion. His attack is fulminant. Christian finds himself gripped by the enemy. It's like a safe fish by hook.

The fight begins. It's a battle. We can try to resist tenaciously, but only we stand, with the help of him who is more powerful than Satan. Nothing else can help us-nor will, religion, work or family. Only Jesus has the power that his followers need to win the fight against the enemy, that is around, throwing the hook with appetizing bait.

Just as the fisherman prepares the specific fish bait that want to catch, Satan also uses different attractions.

Every Christian must look for yourself, know your weaknesses, seek the help of God and resist the calls of Satan. -(JG)
