Em nosso país e ao redor do mundo, frequentemente vivenciamos os efeitos dramáticos de algo que não conseguimos ver. Em 2011, por exemplo, várias cidades norte-americanas foram devastadas por tornados que arrasaram bairros residenciais e comerciais. E, durante cada temporada de furacões, ficamos chocados com ventos de mais de 160 quilômetros por hora que ameaçam destruir o que construímos.

Tudo isso é o resultado de uma força invisível. Com certeza, vemos os efeitos do vento (bandeiras tremulando, detritos voando), mas não podemos ver o próprio vento. Ele opera numa invisibilidade misteriosa.

De certa maneira, isso também é válido para o Espírito Santo. Em Atos 2, quando os cristãos foram cheios do Espírito no Dia de Pentecostes, “…de repente, veio do céu um som, como de um vento impetuoso, e encheu toda a casa onde estavam assentados” (v.2). Aquele vento foi uma demonstração tangível, para os primeiros cristãos, de que o Espírito invisível estava agindo em suas vidas. E ainda hoje, Ele faz o mesmo em nosso viver! Se você é um seguidor de Cristo, encoraje-se! O Espírito Santo frutifica em sua vida (Gálatas 5:22-23), une os cristãos em um só corpo (1 Coríntios 12:13) e lhe garante a presença de Deus (1 João 3:24). O Espírito Santo é uma Pessoa poderosa em nossas vidas — ainda que não possamos vê-lo.

O Espírito Santo age de maneira poderosa, apesar da invisibilidade.

Suddenly, came from the sky a sound, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole House where they were sitting. — Acts 2: 2

In our country and around the world, often we experience the dramatic effects of something that didn't get to see in 2011, for example, several u.s. cities were devastated by tornadoes that razed residential and commercial neighborhoods. And, during each hurricane season, we were shocked with winds of more than 160 kilometers per hour that threaten to destroy what we have built.

All this is the result of an invisible force. Sure, we see the effects of the wind (waving flags, flying debris), but we cannot see the wind itself. It operates in a mysterious invisibility.

In a way, this is also valid for the Holy Spirit. In acts 2, when Christians were filled with the spirit on the day of Pentecost, "... all of a sudden, came from the sky a sound, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole House where they were sitting" (v. 2). That wind was a tangible demonstration, for the early Christians, that the invisible spirit was acting in their lives. And even today, He does the same in our live! If you are a follower of Christ, encourage yourself! The Holy Spirit fruits in your life (Galatians 5:22 -23), unites Christians in one body (1 Corinthians 12:13) and guarantees the presence of God (1 John 3:24). The Holy Spirit is a powerful Person in our lives — even if we cannot see it.

The Holy Spirit acts in powerful way, despite the invisibility.
