Reformador Leitura bíblica: Mateus 23.27-39  _________________ Por que vocês me chamam “Senhor, Senhor” e não fazem o que eu digo? (Lucas 6.46) _________________

Ano passado tive o privilégio de participar de um congresso internacional de igrejas reformadas. O que é isso? São diversas igrejas protestantes que mantêm sua doutrina e teologia alinhadas com os princípios da Reforma Protestante do século XVI, movimento que teve Martinho Lutero e João Calvino como principais expoentes. A Reforma questionou o inquestionável em sua época: a supremacia da instituição religiosa que estava envolvida em tantos erros teológicos, incoerências e corrupção. Quinhentos anos se passaram, e novas reformas se fazem necessárias diante de tantos desvios das igrejas cristãs em relação à proposta do evangelho pregado por Cristo.

Olhando para a relação de Jesus com a religião instituída em seu próprio tempo, ele também procurou ser um reformador. O texto de hoje retrata um Jesus que não se calava diante da hipocrisia religiosa, da dominação e opressão impostas pela instituição, e declarava sua indignação contra a religião que afasta de Deus em vez de aproximar o ser humano dele. Jesus, mesmo sendo judeu e chamado de Rabi (mestre) por seus discípulos, foi um pária em seu próprio sistema religioso. Ele não foi um conformista. Não se calou diante das incoerências e mazelas feitas em nome de Deus e pagou um preço alto por isso.

O pluralismo das diversas vertentes de cristianismo, desde os mais descarados manipuladores da fé alheia até os mais conservadores fundamentalistas, é tão grande que pensar em uma Reforma hoje nos moldes da do século XVI seria impossível. Porém, é possível reformar nosso coração e sua relação com Deus. Podemos olhar para a ousadia de Jesus (e Lutero e Calvino) e seu desejo de tornar Deus mais próximo das pessoas, fazendo nossa parte, mesmo que as consequências sejam difíceis, pois seguir a Jesus é tudo, menos se parecer com um sepulcro pintado, bonito por fora, mas podre por dentro!

Last year I had the privilege of participating in an International Conference of reformed churches. What is this? Are several Protestant churches that maintain their doctrine and theology in line with the principles of the Protestant Reformation of the 16th century movement that had Martin Luther and John Calvin as main exponents. The Reformation questioned the unquestioned at the time: the supremacy of religious institution that was involved in many theological errors, inconsistencies and corruption. 500 years have passed, and further reforms are necessary in the face of so many detours of the Christian churches in the proposal of the Gospel preached by Christ.

Looking at the relationship of Jesus with the religion established in his own time, he also sought to be a reformer. The text today portrays a Jesus who wouldn't shut up in the face of religious hypocrisy, of domination and oppression imposed by the institution, and declared their outrage against the religion of God away rather than bring the human being him. Jesus, even as a Jew and called Rabbi (teacher) by his disciples, was an outcast in his own religious system. He was not a conformist. Don't shut up on inconsistencies and evils done in the name of God and paid a high price for it.

The pluralism of various strands of Christianity, since the more brazen handlers of the faith of others to the more conservative fundamentalists, is so big that thinking about a reform today along the lines of the 16TH century would be impossible. However, it is possible to reform our heart and his relationship with God. We can look at the audacity of Jesus (and Luther and Calvin) and your desire to make God closer to the people, doing our part, even if the consequences are difficult, because following Jesus is anything but resemble a painted Tomb, beautiful on the outside, but rotten inside.

Achados e perdidos / Lost and found

Achados e perdidos Leitura bíblica: Lucas 15.8-10  _________________ Alegrem-se comigo, pois encontrei a minha moeda perdida (Lucas 15.9b). _________________

Jesus relata a parábola de uma mulher que tinha dez dracmas e perdeu uma. Então ela acende uma luz e varre a casa até encontrar a moeda perdida. Esta dracma poderia fazer parte do dote de casamento daquela mulher. Na Palestina, as mulheres usavam um enfeite de cabeça contendo as moedas de seu dote. Geralmente, as moedas do dote são de ouro. Neste caso, sendo dracmas, poderia indicar um enfeite muito modesto, o que acentua o sentimento diante da perda de uma moeda.

As casas mais pobres eram construídas sem janelas. Junto ao teto, às vezes faltavam algumas pedras na parede para permitir a ventilação. Mas essa abertura, além da entrada, não fornecia luz suficiente para o interior da casa, que era escuro, mesmo durante o dia. A mulher teria que acender uma lâmpada para poder procurar a moeda no chão de pedra. O chão geralmente era desnivelado, feito de grandes pedaços de basalto com consideráveis fendas entre eles. Essa mulher sabia que não seria possível que alguém a houvesse roubado. A liberdade de movimento das mulheres nas aldeias era extremamente limitada. É claro que ela sabia que a moeda estava na casa. Ela não havia saído. Sua diligência foi motivada pela certeza de que a moeda poderia ser achada, se ela continuasse varrendo. A mulher, portanto, procurou com determinação. Ela varre e busca, até achá-la. “E quando a encontra, reúne suas amigas e vizinhas, e diz: Alegrem-se comigo, pois encontrei minha moeda perdida” (verso 9). Jesus conclui então “que, da mesma forma, há alegria na presença dos anjos de Deus por um pecador que se arrepende” (verso 10). As lições aqui são evidentes: o valor de algo perdido, a determinação na sua busca e a alegria pela recuperação.

Você sabia que Deus está incansavelmente à sua procura? Você sabia que ele quer ordenar uma festa entre os anjos por mais alguém que se arrepende e lhe entrega sua vida? Que resposta você dará ao Senhor?

Lost and found Bible Reading: Luke 15.8-10   _________________ Rejoice with me, for I found my lost coin (Luke 15.9 b). _________________

Jesus tells the parable of the woman who had ten drachmas and lost one. So she lights a lamp and sweep the House to find the lost coin. This Drachma could be part of that woman's wedding dowry. In Palestine, women wore a headdress containing pieces of her dowry. Generally, the coins of the dowry are gold. In this case, being drachmas, could indicate a very modest embellishment, which accentuates the feeling on a currency loss.

The poorest houses were built without Windows. Along the ceiling, sometimes lacked some gemstones on the wall to allow for ventilation. But this openness, besides the entrance, not providing enough light to the interior of the House, it was dark, even during the day. The woman would have to light a lamp in order to find the coin in the stone floor. The floor was often uneven, made of large chunks of basalt with considerable cracks between them. This woman knew it wouldn't be possible that someone there were stolen. The freedom of movement of women in the villages was extremely limited. Of course, she knew that the coin was in the House. She hadn't left. His coach was motivated by the certainty that the currency could be found if she continued sweeping. The woman, therefore, sought with determination. She sweeps and search, to find her. "And when you find her, brings together her friends and neighbors, and say: rejoice with me, for I have found my lost coin" (verse 9). Jesus then concludes "that, similarly, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God by a sinner who repents" (verse 10). The lessons here are evident: the value of something lost, the determination on his quest and rejoicing for the recovery.

Did you know that God is tirelessly looking for? You know he wants to order a feast among the Angels by someone else who repents and surrender his life? What answer will you give to the Lord?

Insensatez / Folly

Insensatez Leitura bíblica: Gálatas 3.1-14  _________________ Vocês não estão sob o domínio da carne, mas do Espírito, se de fato o Espírito de Deus habita em vocês (Romanos 8.9) _________________

Um jovem amigo meu abandonou a fé cristã, trocando-a por um sistema filosófico que prega a combinação de vários pensamentos. Passado algum tempo, descobriu que essa não tinha sido uma boa decisão. A tal filosofia não trazia paz à sua vida. Reconciliou-se com Jesus, descobrindo nos Evangelhos que, para termos relacionamento com Deus, precisamos apenas ter fé no Senhor Jesus Cristo.

Esse foi o assunto sobre o qual Paulo escreveu no livro de Gálatas. Um grupo de cristãos judeus viajara de Jerusalém até a Galácia a fim de dizer aos cristãos das igrejas de lá que necessitavam de algo mais do que Jesus. Teriam de viver como judeus, observando a circuncisão e os ensinos da Lei. E muitos deixaram a fé, obedecendo àqueles legalistas.

Paulo escreveu-lhes lembrando-os do Evangelho que ele anunciara. Apresentara-lhes Jesus Cristo, que entregou a si mesmo para pagar os nossos pecados. Sua obra foi completa e definitiva, portanto não precisavam colocar ao lado dele nenhum outro ensino. Paulo usa uma linguagem forte a fim de alertar aqueles cristãos: “Vocês são insensatos!” Parecia que um mágico os tivesse hipnotizado com palavras enfeitiçadas. Um espírito mau os influenciava a ponto de dominá-los para que deixassem de seguir somente ao Senhor Jesus Cristo. Paulo pergunta: será que os milagres que já aconteceram ali foram realizados porque vocês seguem a Lei ou por que creram em Jesus Cristo? Vocês começaram bem, mas agora estão deixando de seguir aquele que deu a sua vida para nos reconciliar com Deus! O cristão crê que Jesus morreu pregado numa cruz, foi sepultado, ressuscitou, ascendeu ao céu e um dia voltará. Ele é suficiente – não precisamos adicionar a ele qualquer outro pensamento, filosofia ou mesmo boas obras. Confiar em algo diferente é insensatez!

Folly Bible Reading: Galatians 3.1-14   _________________ You are not under the Dominion of the flesh, but the spirit, if indeed the spirit of God dwelleth in you (Romans 8.9) _________________

A young friend of mine abandoned his Christian faith, replacing it with a philosophical system that preaches the combination of various thoughts. After a while, I discovered that this was not a good decision. Such a philosophy is not brought peace to your life. Reconciled with Jesus, discovering in the Gospels that, relationship with God, we just need to have faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.

This was the subject on which Paul wrote in the book of Galatians. A group of Christians Jews traveled from Jerusalem to the Galatia in order to say to Christians of the churches where they needed something more than Jesus. Would have to live as Jews, observing circumcision and the teachings of the law. And many have left the faith, obeying those loyalists.

Paul wrote them reminding them of the Gospel which he had announced. Present them to Jesus Christ, who gave himself for our sins. His work was complete and definitive, so they didn't need to put next to him no other education. Paul uses a strong language in order to alert those Christians: "You are foolish." It looked like a magician hypnotized him with words charmed. An evil spirit the influenced about to master them to stop follow only the Lord Jesus Christ. Paul question: will the miracles that have happened there were performed because you follow the law or who believe in Jesus Christ? You started well, but are now leaving to follow the one who gave his life for us to reconcile with God. Christians believe that Jesus died nailed to a cross, was buried, rose from the dead, ascended to heaven and one day come back. He is enough-we don't need to add to it any other thought, philosophy or even good works. Trust in something different is folly.
