Fé em Ação

Leitura bíblica: Êxodo 14.1-18

Guiaste o teu povo como a um rebanho pela mão de Moisés e de Arão (Salmo 77.20).

Lemos sobre uma mudança de rumo na rota dos israelitas para que fossem perseguidos pelos egípcios. E lá vai o povo de Deus, marchando triunfantemente. Porém, quando avistaram o exército do faraó, percebemos duas reações diferentes. A primeira é a dos israelitas: eles clamaram aterrorizados, culparam Moisés por tê-los levado até ali e desejaram nunca ter saído do Egito. A marcha triunfante foi interrompida e se tornou um funeral. A segunda reação é a de Moisés: encorajou o povo a crer no livramento que Deus lhe daria. Diferente de Israel, Moisés clamou a Deus confiando que o Senhor lutaria por ele!

Em seguida, Deus diz algo bem interessante: “Por que você está clamando a mim?” E então lembra Moisés do propósito dessa situação e da tarefa que ele tinha de conduzir o povo. Moisés mostrou que confiava em Deus, mas Deus queria que ele mostrasse essa confiança de um jeito prático. Ele não esperava apenas fé ou apenas ações: queria ações norteadas pela fé.

Às vezes temos a tendência de ficar paralisados em meio às dificuldades. Cremos em Deus esperando sua ação, mas de braços cruzados! Guiar o povo e estender as mãos sobre as águas não serviu de impedimento para a ação de Deus. Pelo contrário, foi uma ordem que “veio de cima” e o meio que Deus usou para ser glorificado entre os egípcios (e israelitas). Deus quis usar as mãos de seu servo! A fé de Moisés e sua perseverança na obediência diante do inimigo não permitiram que a marcha triunfante acabasse em terror, mas fizeram o desvio na rota se tornar um sucesso!

Além disso, a situação descrita no texto de hoje também nos ensina: 1) que Deus pode fazer desvios, mas junto traz o livramento. Nem nas mudanças de rota ele perde a direção; 2) a ter firmeza na fé quando estamos à espera de instruções sem saber o que vem pela frente e 3) a agir corajosamente quando Deus nos orientar.

Faith in action

Bible Reading: Exodus 14.1-18

You led your people like a flock by the hand of Moses and Aaron (Psalm 77.20).

Read about a change of course on the route of the Israelites to be pursued by the Egyptians. And the people of God, marching triumphantly. However, when I saw the Pharaoh's army, we saw two different reactions. The first is to the Israelis: they cried in terror, blamed Moses for having taken them over there and wished I never have left Egypt. The triumphant March was interrupted and became a funeral. The second reaction is that of Moses, encouraged the people to believe in the deliverance that God would give him. Unlike Israel, Moses cried out to God trusting that the Lord would fight for him!

Then God says something quite interesting: "why are you crying out to me?" And then remember Moses of the purpose of this situation and the task he had to lead the people. Moses showed that trust in God, but God wanted him to show that trust in a practical way. He didn't expect just faith or just actions: wanted actions guided by faith.

Sometimes we tend to be paralyzed in the midst of the difficulties. We believe in God hoping their action, but do nothing. Guide the people and extend the hand upon the waters not served as a deterrent to the action of God. On the contrary, it was an order that "came off" and that God used to be glorified among the Egyptians (and Israelis). God wanted to use the hands of his servant. The faith of Moses and his perseverance in obedience in the face of the enemy did not allow the triumphant March to end in terror, but made the detour on the route to become a success.

In addition, the situation described in the text today also teaches us: 1) that God can do, but together bring deliverance. Or he loses the route changes direction; 2) having firmness in faith when we are waiting for instructions without knowing what lies ahead and 3) to act boldly when God guide us.

Dificuldades

Leitura bíblica: Hebreus 12.7-13

O homem nascido de mulher vive pouco tempo e passa por muitas dificuldades (Jó 14.1).

As dificuldades são importantes fontes de fortalecimento. A melhor comparação que já vi a respeito disso foi um texto de Rubem Alves: “Milho de pipoca que não passa pelo fogo continua a ser milho de pipoca, para sempre… Imagino que a pobre pipoca, fechada dentro da panela, lá dentro ficando cada vez mais quente, pense que sua hora chegou: vai morrer. De dentro de sua casca dura, fechada em si mesma, ela não pode imaginar destino diferente. Não pode imaginar a transformação que está sendo preparada. A pipoca não imagina aquilo de que ela é capaz. Aí, sem aviso prévio, pelo poder do fogo, a grande transformação acontece: pum! – e ela aparece como uma outra coisa, completamente diferente, que ela mesma nunca havia sonhado”.

Pensando nisso e no texto de hoje, não devemos desprezar as dificuldades nem nos magoar com elas, pois são uma forma que Deus usa para nos disciplinar (verso 7). Por mais dor e tristeza que temporariamente venham nos causar, elas servem como correção e podem ser chamadas de atos de amor de Deus, que “nos disciplina para o nosso bem, para que participemos da sua santidade” (verso 10b).

É preciso caminhar com prudência, seguir o curso certo, não recuar. Suportar as adversidades e deixar-se transformar. O milho de pipoca que se recusa a estourar nunca passará por transformação, permanecerá duro dentro de sua casca. Da mesma forma, pessoas que se recusam a mudar desprezam a disciplina do Senhor; vivem à procura de facilidades e, quando os problemas aparecem, só sabem reclamar.

Todos nós passamos pelo fogo das dificuldades. Isso resulta no nosso crescimento e transformação ou então queimados ficamos, cada vez mais endurecidos e derrotados. Muitas vezes, não conseguimos entender o porquê de algo ruim que acontece, mas depois de algum tempo passado geralmente é possível entender para que isso aconteceu.

Difficulties

The man born of woman lives and passes through many difficulties (Job 14.1).

The difficulties are important sources of empowerment. The best comparison I've ever seen about this was a text by Rubem Alves: "Corn popcorn that does not pass through the fire remains corn popcorn, forever ... I imagine the poor popcorn, closed inside the Pan, inside getting hotter, think your time has come: will die. From inside his hard shell, closed in itself, she can't imagine different destiny. You can't imagine the transformation that is being prepared. The popcorn you can't imagine what she's capable of. Then, without notice, by the power of fire, the big transformation happens: Bang! -and it appears as something completely different, that she had never dreamed of ".

Thinking about it and the text today, we should not neglect the difficulties nor hurt us with them, because they are a way that God uses to discipline us (verse 7). For more pain and sadness that temporarily we cause, they serve as fix and can be called acts of love of God, that "in the discipline to our right, to which participate of his Holiness" (verse 10b).

You need to walk carefully, follow the right course, doesn't back down. Withstand the adversities and transform. Corn popcorn that refuses to burst never pass transformation will remain tough in its bark. Similarly, people who refuse to change despise the discipline of the Lord; Live looking for facilities and, when problems appear, only know how to complain.

All of us through the fire of the difficulties. This results in our growth and transformation or burned it, increasingly hardened and defeated. Many times, we can't understand why something bad that happens, but after some time it is often possible to understand so that this happened.

Leitura bíblica: Mateus 28.18-20

Ele estava com Deus no princípio. Todas as coisas foram feitas por intermédio dele (João 1.2,3a).

No início de seu evangelho, João afirma que no princípio Jesus estava com Deus e que tudo foi feito nele e por meio dele. Portanto, há uma conexão inseparável entre Jesus e a criação de Deus. Afinal, ele mesmo transforma aqueles que o buscam em nova criação, acabando com as coisas velhas e tornando tudo novo (2 Coríntios 5.17)! Acostumamo-nos a pensar no texto de leitura de hoje apenas em seu aspecto missiológico, de levar a Palavra de Deus por todo o mundo. Mas muitas vezes nos esquecemos do mundo para o qual somos chamados a levar o ensinamento de Cristo, e de que tal ensinamento não se limita à vida espiritual, mas abrange todas as dimensões da existência, inclusive a natureza, que está em crescente ameaça.

Se cremos que Deus é o Criador, como seguidores de Cristo – co-Criador com o Pai – devemos também defender essa natureza criada, não com brigas científico-teológicas, mas com atitudes concretas que vão desde o cuidado individual doméstico (por exemplo, separar lixo orgânico do reciclável, não desperdiçar os recursos naturais, não jogar lixo na rua ou pela janela do carro) até as atitudes macro, como nossa postura diante da poluição desmedida, das políticas públicas de redução das emissões de CO2 e contra o desmatamento e os crimes ambientais, por exemplo. Agir de maneira a defender a natureza e o nosso planeta é uma forma poderosa de testemunho cristão coerente com o fato de crermos que Deus é o Criador e que nos comissiona a viver da maneira como Cristo viveu. Será que o compromisso ecológico não seria uma ênfase de seu ministério se ele vivesse hoje em nosso meio?! Pois eu e você, como seguidores de Cristo, somos chamados a sermos os primeiros a dar exemplo na defesa da natureza criada por Deus, agindo de maneira ecologicamente responsável o tempo todo.

He was with God in the beginning. All things were made through him (John 1.2,3a).

At the beginning of his Gospel, John States that Jesus was with God in the beginning and that everything was done in him and through him. Therefore, there is an inseparable connection between Jesus and God. After all, he transforms those who seek him in new creation, old things and making all new (2 Corinthians 5.17). You get used to thinking about today's reading text only in missiological aspect, of bringing the word of God throughout the world. But often we forget the world for which we are called to take the teaching of Christ, and that such teaching is not limited to the spiritual life, but encompasses all dimensions of existence, including the nature, which is in growing threat.

If we believe that God is the creator, as followers of Christ – co-creator with dad – we must also defend that nature created, not with scientific-theological fights, but with concrete attitudes ranging from the individual home care (for example, separate organic garbage recycle, don't waste the natural resources, not throw trash on the street or through the window of the car) to the macro as our posture in the face of great pollution, public policies for reducing CO2 emissions and deforestation and environmental crimes, for example. Acting to defend nature and our planet is a powerful way to Christian witness is consistent with the fact that we believe that God is the creator and commissions us to live the way Christ lived. Will the ecological commitment would not be an emphasis of her Ministry if he lived today in our midst? Because you and I, as followers of Christ, we are called to be the first to set an example in defense of nature created by God, acting ecologically responsible all the time.
