Nova morada

Leitura bíblica: Apocalipse 21.1-8

Embora para muitas pessoas o livro de Apocalipse trate basicamente de inferno, aflições e fim dos tempos (o que é muito assustador para quem não conhece Jesus), para quem têm certeza da vida eterna com Deus o Apocalipse é, na verdade, uma visão de como será o Céu. Ele não é uma invenção da mente humana. A Bíblia nos fala claramente sobre a sua existência; ele foi criado por Deus para os seus filhos.

O texto bíblico da leitura, por exemplo, menciona um novo céu, que o autor do livro chama de Cidade Santa e nova Jerusalém. Este não é o céu azul ao qual estamos acostumados. Trata-se de um novo lugar, onde os filhos de Deus poderão conviver com ele, ter um relacionamento íntimo com ele, como uma família. Ali não haverá lágrimas, nem morte, nem luto, nem dor, nem choro. Todas as coisas serão renovadas e já não existirá mais maldade. Imagine um lugar como esse! Não é à toa que também é chamado de Paraíso.

Mas a Bíblia também nos fala que o Céu não é para qualquer pessoa; é destinado apenas aos filhos de Deus. Antes de ser preso, julgado e morto, Jesus teve um momento especial com os seus discípulos, confortando-os sobre acontecimentos futuros, falando, inclusive, sobre o Céu. Prometeu-lhes que prepararia um lugar para eles ali (veja o versículo em destaque). Ele estava se referindo à morada de Deus. Naquela ocasião, Jesus também disse: “Eu sou o caminho, a verdade e a vida; ninguém vem ao Pai a não ser por mim” (João 14.6). Não há segredo: Jesus é o único acesso ao Céu; não há outra forma de se achegar a Deus. Todo aquele que crê em Cristo, que abre o coração para esta verdade e para a vida com ele é filho de Deus. A esperança de viver em um novo lar, com ele e para sempre, livre dos sofrimentos desse mundo, está reservada aos filhos de Deus, por meio de Jesus.

Reading biblical: Apocalypse 21.1-8

Although for many people the book of revelation treat basically hell, afflictions and end time (which is very frightening for those who do not know Jesus), for those who are sure of eternal life with God the apocalypse is actually a vision of heaven. He is not an invention of the human mind. The Bible tells us clearly about your existence; He was created by God to his children.

The biblical text reading, for example, mentions a new heaven, that the author of the book calls the Holy City, new Jerusalem. This is not the blue sky to which we are accustomed. This is a new place, where God's children can live with it, have an intimate relationship with him as a family. There there will be no tears, nor death, nor mourning, nor crying, nor pain. All things are renewed and ever more will not be evil. Imagine a place like this! No wonder that is also called Paradise.

But the Bible also tells us that the sky is not for anyone; is intended only to the children of God. Before he was arrested, tried and killed, Jesus had a special moment with his disciples, comforting them about future events, talking, even on the sky. Promised them that would prepare a place for them there (see verse headlines). He was referring to a dwelling place of God. At that time, Jesus also said: "I am the way, the truth and the life; No one comes to the father except through me "(John 14.6). There's no secret: Jesus is the only access to heaven; There is no other way to draw near to God. Everyone who believes in Christ, which opens the heart to this truth and to life with he is the son of God. The hope of living in a new home, with him and forever, free of the suffering of this world, is reserved for the sons of God, through Jesus.

Pão do Céu

Leitura bíblica: Êxodo 16.11-21, 31

Jesus declarou: “Eu sou o pão da vida. Aquele que vem a mim nunca terá fome” (João 6.35a).

Uma das dificuldades dos israelitas durante a peregrinação no deserto foi a escassez de alimentos. Desde o início da sua jornada essa falta de comida foi motivo de queixa contra Moisés. Em resposta a essa reclamação, Deus enviou um alimento que o povo desconhecia até então: o maná. Era branco e parecia uma resina. Era moído e usado para cozinhar e fazer bolos (confira também Números 11.7-8). Todos os dias o maná chegava pontualmente. Não faltou nem uma única vez durante os quarenta anos em que o povo caminhou pelo deserto antes de entrar em Canaã. Só desapareceu quando os israelitas chegaram ao seu destino e puderam se fartar com os frutos da Terra Prometida (veja Josué 5.12). Nem guerra, rebelião, doença ou desobediência do povo fizeram com que Deus deixasse de ser fiel à sua promessa de sustentar o povo escolhido.

O evangelho de João conta sobre outra ocasião em que o povo estava com fome e o Senhor providenciou alimento para todos (João 6.1-13). Mas, como no deserto, também aqui as pessoas não perceberam que a provisão física de Jesus demonstrava ao mesmo tempo o cuidado espiritual de Deus com seus filhos. Por isso, Jesus as advertiu: ”Digo-lhes a verdade: não foi Moisés quem lhes deu pão do céu, mas é o meu Pai quem lhes dá o verdadeiro pão do céu. Pois o pão de Deus é aquele que desce do céu a dá vida ao mundo… aquele que vem a mim nunca terá fome” (João 6.32-33,35b).

É muito fácil nos perdermos na nossa preocupação com coisas que consideramos essenciais para a nossa sobrevivência. Por isso o alerta de Jesus vale também para nós: “Não trabalhem pela comida que se estraga, mas pela comida que permanece para a vida eterna, a qual o Filho do homem lhes dará” (João 6.27). Ler a Palavra de Deus e buscar a orientação de Jesus todos os dias realmente dá trabalho – mas só assim nossas almas não morrerão de fome.

Bread from heaven

One of the difficulties of the Israelites during the pilgrimage in the desert was the shortage of food. Since the beginning of your journey this lack of food was cause for complaint against Moses. In response to this complaint, God sent a food that the people did not know until then: the manna. It was white and looked like resin. It was ground and used for cooking and baking (also check Numbers 11.7-8). Every day the manna came promptly. Not missed not once during the 40 years in which the people walked through the desert before entering Canaan. It disappeared when the Israelites arrived at your destination and they might get bored with the fruits of the promised land (see Joshua 5.12). Neither war, rebellion, or disease contempt of the people meant that God was no longer true to your promise to sustain the chosen people.

The Gospel of John tells us about another occasion on which the people were hungry and the Lord provided food for all (John 6.1-13). But, as in the desert, people don't realize the physical provision of Jesus demonstrated at the same time the spiritual care of God with their children. So, Jesus warned them: "tell them the truth: it was not Moses who gave them bread from heaven, but my father gives you the true bread from heaven. For the bread of God is he who comes down from heaven and gives life to the world ... the one who comes to me will never hunger "(John 6.32-33, 35b).

It's very easy to get lost in our concern with things that we consider essential for our survival. That's why Jesus warning also applies to us: "do not work for the food spoils, but for the food which endures to eternal life, which the son of man will give them" (John 6.27). Read the word of God and to seek the guidance of Jesus every day really takes work-but only then our souls don't starve.

Satisfação

Leitura bíblica: Eclesiastes 2.1-26

Tendo o que comer e com que vestir-nos, estejamos com isso satisfeitos. (1 Timóteo 6.8).

Qual é o propósito das coisas, o sentido da vida? O que é capaz de satisfazer o homem por completo? Muitos se sentem insatisfeitos e infelizes, e não raro atribuem isso a algo que não podem ter. Há aqueles que dizem: “ah, se eu tivesse mais dinheiro”, ou “se eu fosse famoso”; “quando eu casar”; “se minha família não tivesse tantos problemas”; “quando tiver um emprego melhor”; “se tivesse saúde”. Os “ses” que expressam uma condição não alcançada para a satisfação nunca terminam.

É impressionante como o ser humano sempre é insaciável nos desejos que ele pensa serem necessários para ser verdadeiramente feliz. Porém quando atinge esses objetivos e percebe que seu coração continua o mesmo, e a satisfação da conquista foi momentânea, ele só se torna ainda mais infeliz.

O autor de Eclesiastes chega à conclusão de que nenhum desejo realizado é capaz de satisfazer completamente o homem. Ele lista tudo o que conseguiu e alcançou. Chegou ao topo. Conquistou tudo o que se poderia imaginar: bens, riqueza, poder, mulheres, sabedoria. Alcançava o que desejasse. Mas qual sua conclusão? É tudo como correr atrás do vento. De que adianta tudo isso? Quem se lembrará dele no futuro? É tudo inútil.

Ele percebe (verso 24) que o que vale a pena mesmo é poder comer, beber, encontrar prazer em seu trabalho e, acima de tudo, reconhecer que até essas pequenas coisas vêm de Deus. Um coração satisfeito é aquele que tem Deus em seu interior; assim encontrará o verdadeiro significado de sua vida, independentemente das condições exteriores.

Reconhecer que Deus está nas coisas simples do dia a dia ajuda a ter um coração grato, e um coração grato não fica por aí reclamando do que não tem. Quando encontramos o sentido da vida em Deus, todas as outras coisas e conquistas fazem sentido. Sem ele, nada nos satisfará.

Satisfaction

Reading biblical: Ecclesiastes 2.1-26

Having enough to eat and get dressed, we're satisfied with that. (1 Timothy 6.8).

What is the purpose of things, the meaning of life? What is able to meet the man? Many feel dissatisfied and unhappy, and often blame it on something that cannot be. There are those who say: "Oh, if I had more money," or "if I were famous"; "when I married"; "if my family didn't have much trouble"; "when you have a better job"; "If you had health". The "if" expressing a condition not achieved to the satisfaction never ends.

It's amazing how the human being always insatiable desire that he thinks are necessary to be truly happy. But when it reaches those goals and realize that your heart is still the same, and the satisfaction of achievement was temporary, it only becomes even more unhappy.

The author of Ecclesiastes comes to the conclusion that no wish is able to satisfy completely the man. It lists all managed and achieved. Reached the top. Won everything that one could imagine: assets, wealth, power, women, wisdom. Could see what I wanted. But what is your conclusion? It's all as chase the wind. What's the point of all this? Who will remember it in the future? It's all useless.

He realizes (verse 24) that what's worth is to eat, drink, find joy in your work and, above all, recognize that even these small things come from God. A happy heart is one that has God in your interior; so you will find the true meaning of your life, regardless of external conditions.

Recognize that God is in the simple things of day-to-day help having a grateful heart, and a grateful heart is not out there complaining about what you don't have. When we find the meaning of life in God, all other things and achievements make sense. Without it, nothing will satisfy us.
