O capítulo 4 de João relata o encontro de
uma mulher samaritana com Jesus e a forma como Jesus tratou da vida dela. O
relato informa que ela tinha uma vida não exatamente nos padrões que se
esperariam (versos 16-18). Mas Jesus a trata com amor e derrama sua graça sobre
ela.
O resultado é que ela, sem hesitar, compartilha o
que viu e ouviu com as pessoas da sua cidade: “Venham ver um homem que me disse
tudo o que tenho feito” (verso 29). O resultado da sua ousadia é o que lemos:
“Muitos creram nele” (verso 39).
Vamos pensar um pouco sobre as circunstâncias
daquela samaritana: que instrução ela tinha? Que alta posição ela detinha para
ser ouvida pelas pessoas da sua cidade? Quantos cursos ela fez para então
compartilhar sua fé?
Para início de história, ela era mulher. Na época,
as mulheres não tinham muito espaço e muito menos instrução. Pelo que
fazia naquele poço, deveria ser alguém de posição simples e, além disso, de má
fama (versos 16-18). Por outro lado, não tinha cursos nem preparo teológico,
nem anos de vida cristã, nem doutrinas claramente elaboradas ou uma imensidade
de textos bíblicos memorizados. A única coisa que ela tinha era a experiência
de um encontro com Jesus. O que ela fez foi simplesmente falar daquilo que
tinha visto e ouvido.
Muitas vezes tememos em falar da nossa fé; temos
medo de compartilhar a experiência que tivemos com Jesus. Achamos que ainda não
estamos devidamente preparados ou que ainda não fizemos um curso de evangelismo
ou algo do gênero.
Que sejamos como Pedro e João quando estavam diante
das autoridades e líderes dos judeus, quando afirmaram: “Não podemos deixar de
falar das coisas que vimos e ouvimos” (Atos 4.20). Fale você também para os
seus familiares, para os seus amigos, para os seus vizinhos, para os seus
colegas de trabalho ou da escola. Muito poderão vir a crer por meio do seu
testemunho.

Chapter
4 of John reports the date of a
Samaritan woman with Jesus and the way Jesus treated of her life. The report
informs that she had a life not exactly in the patterns you would expect
(verses 16-18). But Jesus treats her with love and sheds his grace on her.
The result is that she, without hesitation, shares what he saw and heard
with the people of his city: "come see a man who told me everything I have
done" (verse 29). The result of their boldness is what we read: "Many
believed in him" (verse 39).
Let's think a little about the circumstances that Samaritan woman: that
statement she had? That high position she held to be heard by people in your
town? How many courses she made to then share their faith?
In the first story, she was a woman. Back then, women didn't have much
space and much less instruction. What did that well, should be a simple
position and, moreover, of ill repute (verses 16-18). On the other hand, had no
courses nor theological, not years of Christian life, nor clearly established doctrines
or a vastness of biblical texts stored. The only thing she had was the
experience of an encounter with Jesus. What she did was simply talking about
what we had seen and heard.
Often we are afraid to talk about our faith; We're afraid to share the experience
we had with Jesus. We think we're not properly prepared or we haven't had a
course of evangelism or something.
Us to be like Peter and John when they were in front of the authorities
and leaders of the Jews, when they stated: "we cannot but speak the things
which we have seen and heard" (Acts 4.20). Speak you also to their
families, to their friends, to their neighbors, to their colleagues at work or
school. Very likely to believe through his testimony.
