Advogado Leitura bíblica: Jó 17.11-16 _________________ Saibam que agora mesmo a minha testemunha está nos céus; nas alturas está o meu advogado (Jó 16.19).  _________________

É fácil condenar pessoas que estejam atravessando uma fase de baixa autoestima. Em muitos trechos do livro de Jó, este demonstra estar passando por tal situação. Chega a afirmar que o único lar que ainda espera é a sepultura. Perdera a vontade de viver, mas não é somente Jó que manifesta esse desânimo. Ao longo da minha vida pastoral ouvi muitas vezes pessoas visitadas dizendo a mesma coisa, principalmente enfermos em fase terminal ou doentes há muito tempo.

O livro de Jó traz uma rica lição para os seus leitores a respeito deste assunto. Jó ainda não conhecia Jesus, mas o versículo em destaque mostra que ele se antecipou à fé dos dias em que os apóstolos passaram a falar dele. “Nas alturas está o meu advogado”, afirma. Confira sobre isso 1 João 2.1, onde Jesus aparece como o advogado que Jó esperava. Jó desejou e creu que, se ele fosse o culpado de seus sofrimentos, Deus providenciaria no seu infinito amor um defensor para ele. Se Jó, cuja integridade é tão destacada no relato sobre ele (Jó 1.1, 8), precisava de um advogado quando comparecesse perante Deus, que se pode dizer dos demais seres humanos?

No verso 16 do nosso texto, Jó anseia por esperança e pergunta angustiado: “Desceremos juntos ao pó?”. Ele não vê esperança para a hora da morte, mas sente necessidade de um companheiro que o acompanhasse na travessia.

Jesus, nosso advogado, também é o que nos acompanha para o outro lado. Nossos amados, parentes e amigos nos deixam na sepultura e depois se afastam. Ao malfeitor na cruz, Jesus afirmou: “Eu lhe garanto: hoje você estará comigo no paraíso” (Lucas 23.43). Jesus Cristo é o remédio para nossa autoestima em queda. Nossas crises são temporárias: elas se afastam quando nos lembrarmos de quanto ele nos ama. (MJT)

Lawyer Bible reading: Job 17.11-16 _________________ Know that right now my witness is in heaven; in the heights is my attorney (job 16.19).  _________________

It is easy to condemn people who are going through a phase of low self-esteem. In many passages of the book of job, this demonstrates to be experiencing such a situation. Enough to say that the only home still waiting is the grave. Lost the will to live, but it's not just Job that expresses this discouragement. Throughout my life I have heard people often visited Ministry saying the same thing, especially sick or terminal patients for a long time.

The book of job brings a rich lesson for your readers regarding this subject. Job hadn't met Jesus, but the verse in highlight shows that he anticipated the faith of the days when the Apostles began to talk about him. "In the heights is my lawyer," he says. Check out about this 1 John 2.1, where Jesus appears as the lawyer Job expected. Job wanted and believed that, if he were to blame for their suffering, God would provide in your infinite love a defender for him. If Job, whose integrity is as highlighted in the report about him (job 1.1, 8), needed a lawyer when you attend before God, that can be said of other human beings?

In verse 16 of our text, job yearns for hope and anguished question: "we will go down together to dust”? He sees no hope for the time of death, but feel the need for a companion to accompany him on the journey.

Jesus, our advocate, also is what accompanies us to the other side. Our loved ones, relatives and friends leave us in the grave and then drift apart. The criminal on the cross, Jesus said: "I assure you: today you will be with me in Paradise" (Luke 23.43). Jesus Christ is the remedy for our self-esteem in fall. Our crises are temporary: they turn away when we remember how much he loves us. (MJT)

Erro por ignorância Leitura bíblica: Mateus 22.23-33 _________________ Vocês estão enganados porque não conhecem as Escrituras... (Mateus 22.29).  _________________

Fazemos questão de apresentar esta meditação porque infelizmente hoje em dia há muita gente usando os púlpitos das igrejas pregando qualquer coisa, sem que haja confirmação na Bíblia ou questionamentos por parte dos ouvintes. Muitas afirmações feitas em nome de Deus não têm respaldo bíblico e muitas orações não têm base teológica correta.

Certa vez participei de um encontro de jovens em que o líder de um grupo visitante disse, ao iniciar a reunião: “Irmãos, vamos pedir a presença de Deus em nosso meio”, e começou a orar, dizendo: “Senhor, vem ao nosso meio, desce no meio de nós” e por aí foi por um bom período. No final da reunião chamei aquele jovem em particular e lhe disse: “Você não precisa invocar, nem pedir a presença de Deus onde você está; Deus está em todo lugar em todo tempo”.

Afinal, o que diz a Palavra de Deus? Ela diz assim: “Para onde eu poderia escapar do teu Espírito? Para onde poderia fugir da tua presença? Se eu subir aos céus, lá estás; se eu fizer a minha cama na sepultura, também lá estás. Se eu subir com as asas da alvorada e morar na extremidade do mar, mesmo ali a tua mão direita me guiará e me susterá” (Salmo 139.7-10). O Senhor Jesus Cristo afirmou: “Onde se reunirem dois ou três em meu nome, ali eu estou no meio deles” (Mateus 18.20).

Portanto, precisamos ter a mesma atitude que tiveram os cristãos de Bereia. Veja o que eles fizeram: “Os bereanos... receberam a mensagem com grande interesse, examinando todos os dias as Escrituras, para ver se tudo era assim mesmo” (Atos 17.11). Conferiram as Escrituras para ver se as coisas ditas pelo apóstolo Paulo eram de fato como ele dizia. Há necessidade de espírito crítico diante das pregações que nos são servidas por aí. (MM)

Error in ignorance Bible reading: Matthew 22.23-33 _________________ You are wrong because they do not know the Scriptures. (Matthew 22.29).  _________________

We make a point of presenting this meditation because unfortunately nowadays there are a lot of people using the pulpits of churches preaching anything, without any confirmation in the Bible or questions from listeners. Many statements made in the name of God do not have biblical endorsement and many prayers have no theological basis correct.

I once attended a gathering of young people in which the leader of a visiting group said, when you start the meeting: "Brothers, we ask for the presence of God in our midst", and began to pray, saying, "Lord, come to our midst, descends among us" and there was for a long period. At the end of the meeting called that young man in particular and said to him: "you do not need to invoke, or ask for the presence of God where you are; God is everywhere in all times. "

After all, what does the word of God? She says: "where I could escape from your spirit? Where could flee from your presence? If I ascend to heaven, you are there; If I make my bed in Sheol, you are there, too. If I come up with the wings of the dawn and live on the edge of the sea, even there your hand will guide me and I will lift you up "(Psalm 139.7-10). The Lord Jesus Christ said: "where two or three come together in my name, there I am in their midst" (Matthew 18.20).

Therefore, we need to have the same attitude we had Christians of Berea. See what they did: "The Bereans... you received the message with great interest examining the Scriptures every day to see if everything was just the same" (17.11 Acts). Gave the Scriptures to see if the things said by the Apostle Paul were indeed as he said. There is need for critical spirit before the sermons that are served there. (MM)
 

A lot of humbug can be avoided if we examine the Scriptures.

Compaixão / Compassion

Compaixão Leitura bíblica: Zacarias 7.9-10 _________________ Ao ver as multidões, teve compaixão delas, porque estavam aflitas e desamparadas, como ovelhas sem pastor (Mateus 9.36).  _________________

Diariamente, quando lançamos os olhos ao redor, somos confrontados com numerosos problemas em nossa sociedade. O cristão naturalmente formula em sua mente perguntas para as quais gostaria de ter uma resposta imediata: o que faria Jesus se estivesse caminhando nas ruas de uma grande cidade? O que diria vendo a enorme pobreza, o lixo amontoado, os jovens à procura de drogas? Qual seria sua reação vendo os grandes desperdícios com futilidades daqueles que acumulam fortunas muito maiores do que podem sequer usar? O que diria Jesus diante da precariedade da assistência médica prestada à população, muitas vezes como resultado de corrupção?

Ao ler os Evangelhos, fico a pensar se Jesus, se estivesse andando nas ruas de nossas cidades, não produziria um relato mais ou menos como este: “Jesus visitou muitos países em todos os continentes. O que ele viu nos grandes centros deixou-o muito comovido. Viu milhares de mães morrendo por terem sido infectadas com o vírus da aids; observou crianças órfãs e jovens sofrendo por abandono; notou injustiça, corrupção, maldade e muita pobreza. E então, compadecido, voltou-se aos seus discípulos, aos cristãos em sua Igreja espalhada por toda a terra, e disse: ‘Aprendam o que o pecado faz na vida das pessoas que desprezam o Evangelho. Elas não somente sofrem as suas consequências, mas também fazem com que outros sofram inocentemente. Aprendam também que meus discípulos podem amenizar o sofrimento de tantos desesperados, demostrando concretamente em sua vida diária a compaixão que eu tenho por todos os que sofrem!”

Compassion Bible reading: Zechariah 7.9-10 _________________ When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a Shepherd (Matthew 9.36). _________________

Daily, when we launched the eyes around, we are faced with numerous problems in our society. Christians naturally formulates in his mind questions for which I would like to have an immediate answer: what would Jesus do if he were walking the streets of a big city? What would you see the enormous poverty, the trash heap, young people looking for drugs? What would be your reaction to seeing the great waste with trivia from those who accumulate wealth far greater than they can even use? What would Jesus on the precariousness of the medical assistance provided to the population, often as a result of corruption?

When reading the Gospels, I wonder if Jesus was walking in the streets of our cities, would not produce an account more or less like this: "Jesus visited many countries on all continents. What he saw in the large centers left him deeply moved. Saw thousands of mothers dying because they were infected with the aids virus; noted orphaned children and young people suffering through abandonment; noticed injustice, corruption, evil and a lot of poverty. And so compassionate, he turned to his disciples, to the Christians in your church spread throughout the Earth, and said: ' Learn what SIN does in the lives of people who despise the Gospel. They not only suffer its consequences, but also make others suffer innocently. Learn also that my disciples can ease the suffering of so many desperate, demonstrating concretely in their daily lives the compassion I have for all those who suffer. "

Compassion is the mark of the Christian who wants to see a world with less suffering.
