Sinal

Agora que vocês sabem estas coisas, felizes
serão se as praticarem (João 13.17).

Quando eu
chegava à escola, sabia que ao ouvir o sinal era preciso sair correndo de onde
estava e subir para a sala de aula. Porém, havia outro sinal, igualzinho ao
primeiro, mas com significado totalmente diferente: o sinal do fim da aula. E,
ao tocar, a gente saia correndo da sala de aula e ia embora! Tchau, escola!
Ensino não é
um intervalo entre o sinal de entrada e o de saída, quando ficamos presos numa
sala de aula ouvindo (nem sempre atentos) os professores. O ensino é algo que
carregamos para a vida e que a altera, nos transforma e muda nossa maneira de
nos relacionarmos com a vida e suas circunstâncias.
Jesus sabia
disso. Ele não somente era chamado de mestre, mas o era por excelência. Era
comum Jesus passar por várias cidades e povoados ensinando o povo. As pessoas
ficavam maravilhadas com a autoridade com que ensinava, tão diferente da dos
eruditos mestres da lei e fariseus. O ensino de Jesus visava à transformação! Seu
ensino não era um amontoado de regras e proibições. Também não era uma coleção
de normas e datas que eles deveriam decorar. Jesus era um contador de
histórias. Contava histórias que revelavam verdades incríveis e incômodas ao
coração do homem. O ensino de Jesus visava à prática. Ao ensinar sobre a
importância de servir aos outros à semelhança dele (João 13), Jesus dá a chave
de seu ensino: a felicidade de praticar o que se aprendeu. Quando não
praticamos, de fato não aprendemos. O ensino só se concretiza quando ele gera
prática. Por isso, neste Dia do Professor, agradeça a Deus por todos aqueles
que ensinam ou ensinaram algo a você. É do ensino que vem nossa capacidade de
articulação e reflexão, nossa profissão, nosso trabalho e também a concretude
da nossa fé. Por isso, a você, que é professor, nossa gratidão, e a Jesus,
professor dos professores, pedimos a bênção de praticar tudo o que aprendemos,
mesmo depois que o sinal toca.

Engana-se quem
apenas ouve e não pratica a Palavra de Deus – na verdade, não aprendeu nada
(cf. Tiago 1.22).

When
I got to school, I knew when I heard the signal had to run away from where I
was standing and climbing into the classroom. However, there was another sign,
just like the first, but with entirely different meaning: the sign of the end
of the lesson. And, while playing, the people run away from the classroom and
go! Bye, school!
Teaching
is not a delay between the input signal and the output, when we were stuck in a
classroom listening (not always attentive) teachers. Teaching is something that
we carry for life and that the changes, transforms us and changes our way of
relating to life and their circumstances.
Jesus
knew this. He not only was called master, but was par excellence. It was common
for Jesus go through various towns and villages teaching the people. People
were thrilled with the authority with which he taught, so different from the
master scholars of the law and Pharisees. The teaching of Jesus aimed to
transformation! His teaching was not a jumble of rules and prohibitions. It
wasn't a collection of rules and dates that they should decorate. Jesus was a
storyteller. Stories that showed amazing truths and uncomfortable to the heart
of man. The teaching of Jesus sought to practice. When teaching about the
importance of serving others like him (John 13), Jesus gives the key of its
teaching: the happiness of practicing what you learned. When you do not
practice, in fact haven't learned. The teaching takes place only when it
generates practice. That's why, in this day, thank God for all those who teach
or taught you something. Is the teaching that comes our ability of coordination
and reflection, our profession, our work and the concreteness of our faith. So,
to you, that's a teacher, our gratitude, and Jesus, teacher of teachers, we ask
the blessing of practice everything we learned, even after the sign plays.

A mistake to just listen and do not practice the word of God – in fact,
you haven't learned anything (cf. James 1.22).
