Leitura Bíblica: II Timóteo 1:3-12

Estejam vigilantes, mantenham-se firmes na fé, sejam homens de coragem, sejam fortes (I Coríntios 16:13).

No Antigo Testamento, o povo de Israel passou por muitas situações difíceis, obrigando os homens a se envolver em guerras para salvar o seu povo e suas cidades.

Também no Novo Testamento encontramos situações semelhantes tais como o apóstolo Paulo descreve, por exemplo, em II Coríntios 11:24-33.

O cristão fiel tem boas razões para ser corajoso. Quem tomou o propósito de amar e servir a Deus terá perfeita paz e procurará sempre glorificar o seu Criador. Nessas condições, pode ser ousado nos seus empreendimentos. Afinal, a Bíblia diz: “Deus não nos deu espírito de covardia, mas de poder, de amor e equilíbrio” (II Timóteo 1:7). Um comportamento vacilante e inseguro pode se sinal de debilidade espiritual. Portanto, é importante termos uma fé firme, uma convicção inabalável, amor e consagração profundos. Um cristão que não teme a opinião dos outros nem se envergonha do evangelho, não se perturba com zombarias e se firma na verdade será útil no reino de Deus.

O apóstolo Paulo foi um homem valente e corajoso. Enfrentou perigos de ladrões, de tempestades, de escárnios e zombarias, de espadas e prisões, mas até os últimos instantes de sua vida permaneceu calmo e decidido. Era também um homem de coragem moral, intransigente ante as opiniões de homens, arriscando ser tido como louco para glorificar a Deus. Ele diz: “Até agora estamos passando fome, sede e necessidade de roupas, estamos sendo tratados brutalmente, não temos residência certa e trabalhamos arduamente com nossas próprias mãos. Quando somos amaldiçoados, abençoamos; quando perseguidos suportamos; quando caluniados, respondemos amavelmente. Até agora nos tornamos a escória da terra, o lixo do mundo” (I Coríntios 4:11-13). A coragem moral é algo a desejar neste século, mais do que todas as outras coragens, pois é a força que capacita a defender a verdade mesmo contra as opiniões da maioria. – MM

Be vigilant, stay firm in the faith, be courageous, be strong men (1 Corinthians 16:13).

In the old testament, the people of Israel went through many difficult situations, forcing the men to engage in wars to save his people and their cities.

Also in the New Testament we find similar situations such as the Apostle Paul describes, for example, in II Corinthians 11:24 -33.

The Christian faithful have good reason to be brave. Who took the purpose of loving and serving God will have perfect peace and seek always to glorify their creator. In these conditions, can be bold in your endeavors. After all, the Bible says, "God did not give us a spirit of cowardice, but of power, love and balance" (II Timothy 1: 7). A wobbly and insecure behavior can be a sign of spiritual weakness. Therefore, it is important that we have a firm faith, an unwavering conviction, love and deep consecration. A Christian who doesn't fear the opinions of others is not ashamed of the Gospel, do not disturb with sneers and firms actually will be useful in the Kingdom of God.

The Apostle Paul was a brave and courageous man. Faced dangers of thieves, storms, taunts and ridicules, swords and prisons, but until the last moments of his life remained calm and determined. He was also a man of moral courage, uncompromising compared the opinions of men, risking being seen as crazy to glorify God. He says: "Until now we are starving, thirsty and need clothes, we are being treated brutally, don't have residence and work hard with our own hands. When we are cursed, we bless; When persecuted support; When defamed, we answer kindly. So far we have become the scum of the Earth, the world's garbage "(1 Corinthians 4:11 -13). The moral courage is something to be desired in this century, more than all other courage because it is the force that enables you to defend the truth even against the opinions of the majority. -MM
