Novo Tempo / New Time

 Leitura Bíblica: Romanos 8:18-25

O mundo e a sua cobiça passam, mas aquele que faz a vontade de Deus permanece para sempre (I João 2:17).

O que esta acontecendo com o nosso mundo? Será que tudo está se encaminhando para o fim?

Quem não pergunta isso diante das catástrofes naturais cada vez mais presentes em nossa nação? Quantas situações em que pessoas ficam sem família, sem comida, sem sua casa e seus móveis, que tanto esforço lhes custaram!

Na época da catástrofe natural que assolou algumas cidades do Rio de Janeiro no começo de 2011, tivemos também em Santa Catarina uma situação em que uma pequena cidade vizinha nossa ficou completamente embaixo da lama. Fomos lá tentar socorrer algumas das vítimas, tirando lama com pá e carrinho de mão. Por falta de água encanada, tivemos até de lavar uma casa usando água da chuva que caía de uma calha. Ouvimos algumas reclamações sobre o governo e quanto a voluntários espertalhões que retinham para si os melhores donativos, e por outro lado ouvimos palavras de gratidão a Deus por ter poupado vidas. Mas o que mais nos chamou a atenção em tudo isso foi que na hora do almoço comunitário, que servia para abastecer os trabalhadores voluntários e moradores em maior necessidade, ricos e pobres partilhavam da mesma refeição. Também não pudemos deixar de notar quanta solidariedade, que aliás é um princípio ensinado vividamente pelo nosso Senhor, surgiu nesses momentos limítrofes da vida. Aí vem um novo questionamento: será que essas catástrofes naturais que, afinal unem mais as pessoas, são mesmo mais destrutivas que o progresso que nos torna cada vez mais individualistas e autossuficientes? Não seriam uma amostra prática daquilo que diz o versículo em destaque e de que também fala o texto de leitura bíblica? Será que nesses sinais Deus não está revelando um novo tempo, apontando em meio a toda essa desgraça para aquilo que realmente tem valor e produz resultados permanentes – o amor de Deus movendo nossa vida? – (ALS)

A vontade de Deus é distribuirmos o seu amor ao redor de nós.

New Time

Bible reading: Romans 8:18 -25

The world and its greed, but he who does the will of God remains forever (1 John 2:17).

What's going on with our world? Will be that everything is swarming to the end?

Those who do not question this in the face of natural disasters are increasingly present in our nation? How many situations in which people are without family, without food, without your home and your furniture, which cost them so much effort!

At the time of natural disaster that devastated some cities of Rio de Janeiro in early 2011, we had also in Santa Catarina, a situation in which a small town nearby our was completely under the mud. We were there trying to bail out some of the victims, taking mud with shovel and wheelbarrow. For lack of running water, we had to wash a house using rainwater that fell out of a gutter. We heard some complaints about the Government and about the volunteers that very wise guys for you the best gifts, and on the other hand we hear words of gratitude to God for having saved lives. But what most attracted our attention in all this was that at lunchtime, which served the community to supply the voluntary workers and residents in greater need, rich and poor had the same meal. Also couldn't help but notice how much solidarity, which is a principle taught by our Lord, vividly in these neighbouring life moments. Here comes a new question: will these natural disasters that unite more people, they are even more destructive that the progress that makes us more and more individualistic and self-reliant? Would not be a practical sample of what says the verse highlighted and that also tells the biblical reading text? Did these signs God is not revealing a new time, pointing amid all this doom for what really has value and produces permanent results-the love of God moving in our lives? -(ALS)
