Leitura Bíblica: I Coríntios 15:20-22; 35-44

Se Cristo não ressuscitou, inútil é a fé que vocês têm, e ainda estão em seus pecados (I Coríntios 15:17).

No Monte das Oliveira, os discípulos olhavam enquanto Jesus subiu ao céu. Então apareceram dois anjos e disseram: “Por que vocês estão olhando para o céu? Este mesmo Jesus, que dentre vocês foi elevado ao céu, voltará da mesma forma como o viram subir” (Atos 1:11b). Jesus já tinha dito que estaria com eles para sempre (Mateus 28:20). Esta foi sua promessa, não somente àqueles discípulos, mas à sua Igreja através dos tempos: “Estarei com vocês, sempre perto e vocês”. Jesus pode garantir isso porque está vivo. Ele ressuscitou e subiu ao céu. Então está perto de mim e de você porque a sua ressurreição é uma realidade que não se pode mudar. E se, como defendem alguns, não houver ressurreição, a nossa fé não tem sentido, nossos erros ainda não foram perdoados e não há esperança alguma!

O que dá significado ao cristianismo é o fato de que Jesus não permaneceu numa tumba fria de um cemitério em Jerusalém. Ele vive, e está bem perto de você. A ressurreição, portanto, é parte integrante da nossa fé em Jesus Cristo. Porque Ele ressuscitou, os cristãos que morreram antes da segunda vinda de Cristo também ressuscitarão – receberão um novo corpo, espiritual (versículo 44). Os que estiverem vivos terão seus corpos transformados (I Coríntios 15:51-53). No texto que lemos hoje, Paulo usa a figura do lavrador que planta a semente no campo para ilustrar como será a ressurreição dos filhos de Deus. Aliás, esta é uma curiosidade que muitos cristãos têm. Paulo nos ensina que será como uma semente plantada na terra (versículo 37), que ao nascer ganha um novo corpo. Os seguidores de Cristo terão seu corpo natural transformado em um corpo espiritual, incorruptível e imortal. Com este novo corpo, o cristão desfrutará a vida eterna com Deus. – (JG)

If Christ is risen, useless is the faith that you have, and are still in your sins (1 Corinthians 15:17).

On the Mount of Olive, the disciples looked while Jesus ascended into heaven. Then two Angels appeared and said: "why are you looking at the sky? This same Jesus, who among you was carried up into heaven, will come back in the same way as they saw him rise "(acts 1:11 (b)). Jesus had already said that he would be with them forever (Matthew 28: 20). This was his promise, not only to those disciples, but to his Church through the ages: "I will be with you, always close to you". Jesus can guarantee this because is alive. He rose again and ascended into heaven. So is close to me and you because his resurrection is a reality we cannot change. And if, as some argue, there is no resurrection, our faith is meaningless, our mistakes have not been forgiven and there is some hope!

What gives meaning to Christianity is the fact that Jesus did not remained in a cold tomb of a cemetery in Jerusalem. He lives, and is right next to you. The resurrection, therefore, is an integral part of our faith in Jesus Christ. Because He was resurrected, Christians who died before the second coming of Christ will be resurrected – also receive a new spiritual body (verse 44). Those who are alive will have transformed their bodies (1 Corinthians 15:51 -53). In the text we read today, Paul uses the figure of the farmer who plants the seed in the field to illustrate how will be the resurrection of the sons of God. In fact, this is a curiosity that many Christians have. Paul teaches us that it will be like a seed planted in the Earth (verse 37), which at birth Gets a new body. The followers of Christ will have its natural body transformed into a spiritual body, incorruptible and immortal. With this new body, the Christian will enjoy eternal life with God. -(JG)
