Leitura Bíblica: Hebreus 12:1-3; 12-13

Àquele que vencer e fizer a minha vontade até o fim darei autoridade sobre as nações… também lhe darei a estrela da manhã (Apocalipse 2:26-28b)

Assisti a uma cena na televisão há alguns anos que ainda hoje permanece em minha memória, e creio que não a esquecerei jamais. Tratava-se de uma grande competição – Olimpíadas talvez – e a prova em questão era a maratona feminina. Muito tempo depois de as últimas cruzarem a linha de chegada, surge na pista uma maratonista, cambaleando, com os braços pendentes, músculos sem tensão e joelhos cruzados. Ela não mais corria, sem forças: seguia trôpega. Às vezes pendia para um lado, às vezes para o outro, mas não caía. Continuava caminhando com o firme propósito de cruzar a linha de chegada. Quando ela apareceu, uma equipe médica aproximou-se, na expectativa de apoiá-la caso caísse. Porém, ninguém ousou interromper sua caminhada. Humanamente, parecia impossível percorrer os metros restantes até a linha de chegada, mas ela seguiu em frente com uma força impressionante, mesmo que não tivesse mais condições físicas. Por fim, cruzou a linha de chegada e, no mesmo instante, caiu inconsciente, sendo amparada pelos médicos.

Ela também merecia subir ao pódio – não por ter vencido seus adversários, mas por ter superado a si mesma. Creio que para Deus pessoas assim são verdadeiras campeãs. Ao contrário de nossa sociedade, que só rende glórias ao melhor, Deus aprova e recompensa aquele que não desiste no meio do caminho, mesmo que as circunstâncias sejam duras demais.

Um campeão nunca desiste da caminhada, pois o que tem diante de seus olhos é maior do que ele mesmo. Ainda que esteja cansado, enxerga com os olhos da fé. Por isso, não desista, mesmo que sua situação seja difícil. Não pare, siga em frente, pois em Jesus você é mais que vencedor (Romanos 8:37): é um verdadeiro campeão. – (LFS)

Na vida cristã, vence quem olha apenas para o alvo – Jesus!

Watched a scene on television a few years ago that still remains in my memory, and I do not think to forget ever. It was a great competition-perhaps Olympics – and the evidence in question was the women's Marathon. Long after the latest cross the finish line on the track, a marathon runner, reeling, with the pending arms, muscles without tension and knees crossed. She no longer ran, without forces: followed stumbling. Sometimes hung to one side, sometimes to the other, but not fall. Continued walking with the firm purpose of crossing the finish line. When she appeared, a medical staff approached, expecting to support her case fell. However, no one dared to stop his walk. Humanly, it seemed impossible to scroll through the remaining meters to the finish line, but she soldiered on with a striking force, even if they had more physical conditions. Finally, crossed the finish line and, at the same moment, fell unconscious, being supported by the doctors.

She also deserved to climb on the podium – not for winning your opponents, but to have overcome herself. I believe that to God people are true champions. Unlike our society, which only yields the best, God approves glories and reward those who do not give up in the middle of the road, even though the circumstances are too hard.

A champion never gives up the walk because you have before your eyes is larger than himself. Still that is tired, sees with the eyes of faith. So, don't give up, even if your situation is difficult. Do not stop, go ahead, because in Jesus you are more that winner (Romans 8:37): is a true champion. -(LFS)

In the Christian life, WINS who looks only at the target-Jesus!
