Leitura Bíblica: Atos 6:8-15; 7:51-60
Não podemos deixar
de falar do que vimos e ouvimos (Atos 4:20).
O Novo Testamento contêm vários relatos de como os cristãos eram
perseguidos por causa da sua fé em Jesus Cristo, mas não deixavam de falar
sobre ela. Textos como esses deveriam nos inquietar. Vivemos num país onde, por
enquanto, não existe perseguição religiosa. Mesmo assim, quantas vezes ousamos
proclamar a mensagem de Cristo como fizeram os seus primeiros seguidores?
Lembro-me que no início da minha caminhada na fé era difícil andar nas ruas
segurando uma Bíblia. Mesmo sabendo que estava indo para um culto ou para uma
reunião de jovens, sentia-me como um estranho entre as pessoas. Sempre que me
lembro dessa situação, penso em como deixamos de aproveitar as oportunidades
para falar de Jesus. Se não é devido à perseguição ou ao perigo de prisão e
morte, por que então deixamos de falar das coisas que temos visto e ouvido da
Palavra de Deus? Penso que é por vergonha, por medo de ser ridicularizado ou de
ser visto de maneira diferente. Isso é o que nos impede hoje de sermos ousados
como os cristãos do primeiro século foram.
É interessante que quando ouvimos ou presenciamos alguma novidade, não
conseguimos parar de falar aos outros a respeito do novo acontecimento. Por que
não somos assim em relação a Jesus Cristo? São tantas as maravilhas que a
Palavra de Deus nos anuncia, que deveríamos agir com a mesma empolgação. Hoje
lemos que, como tantos outros cristãos de sua época, Estevão não se intimidou e
proclamou sua fé em Cristo, mesmo quando estava perante o tribunal e prestes a
ser apedrejado. Quando falamos de Jesus, o Espírito Santo nos dá coragem e a
certeza de que Deus estará conosco. Então, reflita: o que impede você de
anunciar a mensagem cristã para as outras pessoas? – (DS)
Falar de Cristo sem
medo é a melhor maneira de mostrar ao mundo que Cristo vive em você!

fear of speaking

We
cannot but speak of what we saw and heard (Acts 4.20).
The New Testament
contains several accounts of how Christians were persecuted for their faith in
Jesus Christ, but wouldn't talk about it. Texts such as these should we fuss.
We live in a country where, for the time being, there is no religious
persecution. Even so, how often do we dare to proclaim the message of Christ as
did his first followers? I remember that at the beginning of my journey in
faith it was difficult to walk the streets holding a Bible. Even though I was
going to a worship or for a gathering of young people, I felt like a stranger
among the people. Whenever I remember this situation, think of how we fail to
take advantage of the opportunity to speak of Jesus. If it is not due to
persecution or danger of imprisonment and death, why then we no longer speak of
the things which we have seen and heard of the word of God? I think it is a
shame, for fear of being laughed at or to be seen differently. This is what
prevents us from today to be adventurous as Christians of the first century
were.
It's interesting
that when we heard or seen any news, we could not stop talking to others about
the new event. Why are not so in relation to Jesus Christ? There are so many
wonders that the word of God in Announces, that we should act with the same
excitement. Today we read that, like so many other Christians of his day,
Stephen not fazed and proclaimed his faith in Christ, even when he was before
the Court and about to be stoned. When we talk about Jesus, the Holy Spirit
gives us courage and the certainty that God will be with us. Then, reflect:
what keeps you from announcing the Christian message to other people? -(DS)
Talking about Christ without
fear is the best way to show the world that Christ lives in you!
