Leitura
bíblica: Isaias 9:1-7
Ele estenderá o seu domínio e
haverá paz sem fim sobre o trono de Davi e sobre o seu reino (Isaías 9:7).
A palavra
profética de Deus anuncia que um menino nasceu, que um filho se nos deu, que o
governo está sobre os ombros dele e que o seu nome será: Maravilhoso,
Conselheiro, Deus Forte, Pai da Eternidade, Príncipe da Paz.
É um texto
comum no Natal, para anunciar o nascimento do Senhor Jesus, mas ao mesmo tempo
aponta também para o governo do Príncipe da Paz, o que ainda não aconteceu.
O propósito
da primeira vinda de Jesus foi reconciliar-nos com Deus – Ele não veio para
julgar-nos, mas para nos trazer o perdão (João 3:17).
É a
salvação pela graça, mediante a fé em Jesus.
O Natal é o
momento em que Deus desceu à terra e veio até nós. Mas, com o passar dos anos,
esse evento virou um sonho de algumas horas em vez de ser fonte de forças para
a vida inteira. Realmente, o período natalino é de muita alegria, muita festa,
mas tudo é passageiro.
Já houve o
tempo da manjedoura, já houve o tempo da cruz, já houve o tempo do túmulo
vazio.
Há de
chegar o tempo do governo e, com ele, virá a paz sem fim (Isaías 9:7) sobre o
trono de Davi, que será firmado mediante juízo e justiça para sempre. Jesus
reinará para sempre, o seu reinado não terminará (Lucas 1:33), conforme o anjo
anunciou a Maria.
Jamais
haverá paz se Jesus continuar excluído de nossas vidas (é o menos lembrado no
seu próprio dia), se o Senhor Jesus permanecer em uma estante numa Bíblia
juntando poeira, se Ele só continuar a ser lembrado de vez em quando, se não
fizer morada em todos os corações.
Façamos
destes dias em que lembramos a primeira vinda de Jesus momentos de alegria e de
paz; mas preparemo-nos, vigiando e orando por sua segunda vinda, quando o seu
governo sobre as nações não terá mais fim. – (Edmar Torres Alves).
Jesus quer hoje morar em cada
um de nós para podermos morar com Ele eternamente.
Government
Bible reading: Isaiah 9: 1-7
He will
extend his domain and there will be peace without the end on the throne of
David and over his Kingdom (Isaiah 9: 7).
The prophetic word of God
announces that a boy was born, to us a son is given, that the Government is on
the shoulders of him, and that his name will be called wonderful, counselor,
mighty God, the everlasting father, Prince of peace.
Is a common text at Christmas,
to announce the birth of the Lord Jesus, but at the same time also to the
Government of the Prince of peace, what hasn't happened yet.
The purpose of the first
coming of Jesus was reconciling us with God – He did not come to judge us, but
to bring us forgiveness (John 3:17).
Is the salvation by grace,
through faith in Jesus.
Christmas is the time when God
descended to Earth and came to us. But, over the years, this event became a
dream a few hours rather than be a source of strength for the whole life.
Actually, the holiday period is a lot of joy, a lot of celebration, but
everything is transient.
There was the time of the
manger, there have been the time of the cross, there was the time of the empty
tomb.
There is the time of the
Government, and with it will come the endless peace (Isaiah 9: 7) on the throne
of David, which will be signed by judgment and justice forever. Jesus shall
reign forever, his reign will not end (Luke 1:33), as the Angel announced to
Mary.
Never will there be peace if
Jesus still excluded from our lives (is the least remembered in his own day),
if the Lord Jesus to stay on a shelf in a Bible gathering dust, if it just
continue to be reminded once in a while, if you don't address in all hearts.
We make these days when we
recall the first coming of Jesus moments of joy and peace; but prepare us,
watching and praying for his second coming, when his Government upon the
Nations will no longer order. -(Edmar Torres Alves).
Jesus wants today live in each one of us so that
we can live with him eternally.
