Melhor é / Better is

Leia em sua Bíblia: Provérbios 8.32-36

“Pois, que adianta ganhar o mundo inteiro e perder a sua alma”? (Marcos 6.36).

Vi numa reportagem, que algumas vacas têm um costume curioso: mamar o leite de suas próprias tetas. Desta forma, elas acabam consumindo grande parte do leite que produzem. Uma tentativa de solução, é a colocação de uma focinheira especial, só que isso também as impede de alimentar-se direito, o que por sua vez, diminui a produção de leite. Para uma vaca, é melhor produzir e dar o leite do que bebê-lo ela mesma.

Como esta vaca mamona que escolheu tomar o leite no lugar de dá-lo, nós também nem sempre estamos dispostos a fazer o que é certo.

Parece-nos bom fazer o que queremos e não o que é certo. Talvez seja difícil discernir o que é melhor, talvez as dúvidas estejam nos afastando das boas escolhas. Mas o principal motivo das más escolhas é o egoísmo do nosso próprio coração. Escolhemos fazer o quer mais gostamos e não o que é certo - e que isso seria melhor.

Para saber o que é melhor, temos a Palavra de Deus como nosso guia nas decisões. Ela nos diz o que é melhor: é melhor ter sabedoria e conhecimento, do que muitas riquezas e posição social. É melhor ser paciente do que valente. É melhor ter pouco dinheiro e tranquilidade, do que muitas pessoas no meio de discórdias. É melhor ser humilde que ostentador. É melhor conviver com pessoas sábias, do que com briguentas e tolas. É melhor ouvir um bom conselho, do que ouvir o que só parece ser um bom conselho. Melhor é a dor da crítica franca, do que a sedução de elogios falsos. É melhor ganhar a vida eterna, do que qualquer outra coisa deste mundo. É melhor obedecer a Deus, do que oferecer sacrifícios vazios. Melhor é o compromisso sincero, do que promessas falsas.

Quais têm sido nossas escolhas?

Escolhemos o melhor de Deus ou o aparente melhor para nós mesmos? (HSG)

Para fazermos boas escolhas precisamos buscar o que é realmente melhor.

Better is

Read in your Bible: Proverbs 8.32-36

"Yes, what's the point gain the whole world and lose his soul?" (Mark 6.36).

I saw a report that some cows have a curious habit: sucking the milk from their own tits. In this way, they end up consuming much of the milk they produce. An attempt of solution, is the placement of a special muzzle, it also prevents them from eating right, which in turn decreases milk production. For a cow, you'd better produce and give the milk than drink it herself.

As this cow who chose Castor take the milk in place of it, we are not always willing to do what's right.

It is good to do what we want and not what is right. Maybe it's hard to discern what is best, maybe the questions are in away of good choices. But the main reason of the bad choices is the selfishness of our own heart. Choose to do whatever we like and not what's right-and that this would be better.

To know what is best, we have the word of God as our guide in decisions. She tells us what's best: it's better to have wisdom and knowledge, than many riches and social standing. It is better to be patient than brave. It is better to have little money and peace of mind, than many people in the middle of discords. It's better to be humble to exhibitionist. You better live with wise people, than with feisty and foolish. It is better to listen to good advice, than hear what only seems to be a good Council. Best is the pain of frank criticism, than the seduction of false praise. It is better to gain eternal life, than anything else in this world. It is better to obey God than to offer sacrifices empty. Best is the sincere commitment, than false promises.
