Leia em sua Bíblia: Salmo 124.1-8
"O nosso socorro está no nome do Senhor, que fez os céus e a
terra" (Salmo 124.9).
Ao lermos a história do rei Davi,
autor do Salmo 124, somos informados que sua vida foi marcada por frequentes
combates a inimigos de todos os lados. Além dos inimigos externos - outros
reinos que guerreavam contra ele - podemos citar mais dois.
O primeiro
foi ele mesmo. Foram várias e graves
as culpas em que incorreu, e como lhe custaram caro!
O outro foi
Saul, seu antecessor no trono.
Traiçoeiro, falso, volúvel. Em um momento estimava Davi e o promovia e, logo em
seguida, tentava matá-lo.
Davi
admitiu sua impotência diante do poder e da força dos inimigos, inclusive do
seu próprio gênio. Reconheceu que foi a permanência de Deus ao lado dele e do
seu povo que lhe permitiu ter chegado até o momento de escrever o cântico que
lemos hoje.
Reconheceu
também que Deus não somente estava ao seu lado, como também agiu como protetor.
No Salmo 103, ele
afirma no versículo
3:
"É ele que perdoa todos os seus
pecados e cura todas as suas doenças".
Deus o
protegeu da fúria dos inimigos. Davi enumera os perigos, desejando ressaltar o
poder de Deus. Os inimigos poderiam arrastá-lo no turbilhão das águas e
afogá-lo, mas o poder de Deus era maior. Seu poder é tão grande que fez os céus
e a terra.

finalizar enumerando a fidelidade do Senhor.
Por duas
vezes, Davi insiste: "Se o Senhor não estivesse do nosso lado..."
Esteve ali, salvando-o das armadilhas.
A
ingratidão é uma das pragas mais comuns. Ao mesmo tempo a gratidão é uma
virtude nobre e sempre bem-vinda, além de nada mais do que justa e devida por
nós a Deus.
Que motivos
você teria hoje de dar graças a Deus? Provavelmente a lista é bem maior do
que imaginamos.

Read in your Bible: Psalm 8-124.1
"Our help is in the name of the Lord, who made heaven and
Earth" (Psalm 124.9).
To read the story of King David, author of Psalm 124, we are told that his life was marked by frequent fights the enemies from all sides. In addition to the external enemies-other kingdoms who warred against him-we can cite two more.
The first was himself. There were several serious blame incurred,
and how cost him dear.
The other was Saul, his predecessor on the throne. Deceitful,
fickle. At one point estimated David and promoted and, shortly thereafter, was
trying to kill him.
David admitted his impotence before the power and strength of enemies,
including his own genius. Acknowledged that it was the permanence of God beside
him and his people that allowed him to have come so far to write the song that
we read today.
Recognized also that God not only was at his side, but also acted as a
protector.
In Psalm 103, he says in verse 3: "is he who
forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases".
God protected him from the wrath of the enemies. David enumerates the
dangers, wishing to emphasize the power of God. The enemies could drag him in
the swirling waters and drown him, but the power of God was greater. His power
is so great that made the heavens and the Earth.

Twice, David insists: "If the Lord had not been on our side."
Been there, saving it from the traps.
Ingratitude is one of the most common pests. While gratitude is a noble
virtue and always welcome, but nothing more than fair and proper for us to God.
What reasons would you have today to give thanks to God? The list is
probably much greater than we imagine.
