Há um país
árabe hoje chamado Iêmen, localizado na Ásia Ocidental entre Omã e a Arábia
Saudita, o mar Vermelho e o golfo de Áden. No tempo de Salomão, seu nome era
Sabá. A rainha desse país soube, provavelmente por meio de mercadores
viajantes, da fama, riqueza, sabedoria e do Deus de Salomão, rei de Israel.
Preparou então uma comitiva para visitá-lo, a fim de confirmar se tudo o que
tinha ouvido era realmente verdade. Se lermos os capítulos anteriores a este,
notaremos a grandeza de Salomão. Era um conhecedor profundo da lei judaica
(torá), sábio e temente ao único Deus. Ao chegar a Jerusalém, a rainha foi
imediatamente procurar Salomão. Ela preparou perguntas, talvez como estas: como
você reina sem problemas? Onde conseguiu tanta riqueza? Que livro é esse que
você chama de livro da Lei? E por que você não tem uma imagem do seu Deus? Eram
perguntas legítimas, que exigiam uma resposta. E sabemos pelo texto lido hoje
que ela recebeu resposta a todas elas, a ponto de dizer que tudo era verdade, e
muito além do que ouvira falar. E continuou, dizendo: “Bendito seja o Senhor, o
teu Deus, que se agradou de ti” (verso 9).
Como cristãos,
muitas vezes somos também desafiados a justificar a razão da nossa fé. Aqueles
que descobrem que somos seguidores do Senhor Jesus Cristo querem saber o porquê
da nossa fé cristã. O testemunho que damos na família, na comunidade ou no
trabalho exige uma resposta daqueles que ouvem. E devemos estar bem preparados
para expressar a todos por que somos seguidores do Senhor Jesus Cristo. Ele
mesmo nos ensinou que quando o seguimos temos a verdade, pois somente ele é a
verdade (João 14.6). Atraídos por nossa fé, muitos querem descobrir o segredo
da felicidade que demonstramos em nossa vida diária. Que eles também tenham um
encontro com aquele que tem feito maravilhas em nossa vida.

There

you" (verse 9).
As
Christians, we are often too challenged to justify the reason for our faith.
Those who discover they are followers of the Lord Jesus Christ want to know why
our Christian faith. The testimony that we in the family, in the community or
at work requires a response of those who hear. And we must be prepared to
express all why are followers of the Lord Jesus Christ. He even taught us that
when we follow the truth, because he alone is the truth (John 14.6). Attracted
by our faith, many wanting to discover the key to happiness that we demonstrate
in our daily lives. They also have a date with the one who has done wonders in
our lives.
