Triunfo do bem

Leitura bíblica: Gênesis 50.15-21

Não se deixem vencer pelo mal, mas vençam o mal com o bem (Romanos 12.21).

Talvez você esteja sofrendo ou já sofreu alguma injustiça na vida. Infelizmente, neste nosso mundo egoísta essa situação é comum, e muita gente já passou por isso. Um exemplo é José, filho de Jacó. Vale a pena relembrar sua história: quando jovem, foi vendido como escravo pelos seus próprios irmãos, por inveja. No Egito, depois de algum tempo trabalhando, foi caluniado e encarcerado injustamente. Ficou esquecido na prisão por alguns anos. Mas a Bíblia usa várias vezes a expressão “mas o Senhor estava com José”. E José, apesar de tudo, confiava em Deus. Humilhou-se perante o Senhor e serviu-o da melhor maneira que pôde, conforme as circunstâncias. Não há registro de que tenha se rebelado contra Deus. No momento oportuno, o Senhor o exaltou, contra toda esperança e lógica. José acabou nomeado governador do Egito. Graças ao conhecimento e à sabedoria que Deus lhe deu, administrou bem as abundantes colheitas dos sete anos de “vacas gordas” e assim salvou o Egito e os povos vizinhos dos terríveis sete anos de “vacas magras” – incluindo sua família, que então ainda morava em Canaã.
Ao reencontrar seus irmãos, José poderia facilmente se vingar deles pelo mal cometido. A apreensão deles chegou ao ponto máximo quando seu pai, Jacó, morreu. Pensavam que agora, sem a proteção paterna, José finalmente os castigaria. Mas ele, ao contrário, tranquilizou-os, confirmando-lhes seu perdão (versos 19-21).

José tinha deixado a vingança para Deus, que deu um desfecho incrivelmente favorável às injustiças sofridas no passado. Quando entregamos ao Senhor as injustiças que passamos, ele promete resolver estes problemas para nós (veja também Romanos 12.19). A nossa tarefa é retribuir o mal com o bem – não é fácil, mas é o que Deus aprova. E mesmo que a reparação da injustiça pareça demorar, Deus nos dará forças para suportá-la.

Don't let them overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good (Romans 12.21).

Maybe you are suffering or have suffered any injustice in life. Unfortunately, in our selfish world this situation is common, and many people have gone through it. An example is Joseph, son of Jacob. Worth remembering your story: as a young man, was sold into slavery by his own brothers, by envy. In Egypt, after a time working, was maligned and imprisoned unjustly. Was forgotten in prison for some years. But the Bible uses the words "but the Lord was with Joseph". And Joseph, after all, trust in God. Humbled himself before the Lord and served him as best he could, as the case may be. There is no record of who has rebelled against God. At the appropriate time, the Lord the exalted, against all hope and logic. Jose just appointed Governor of Egypt. Thanks to the knowledge and wisdom that God gave him, administered the abundant harvests of the seven years of fat cows ", and so saved Egypt and the neighbouring peoples of the terrible seven years of" rainy day "– including your family, who still lived in Canaan.
To be reunited with his brothers, Joseph could easily get back at them by the evil committed. The apprehension of them reached the climax when your father, Jacob, died. Thought now, without parental protection, Joseph finally the punishment. But he, unlike, reassured them, confirming them your forgiveness (verses 19-21).

José had left the revenge to God, who gave an incredibly favourable outcome to injustices suffered in the past. When we commit to the Lord the injustices we've been through, he promises to solve these problems for us (see also Romans 12.19). Our task is to repay evil with good-it's not easy, but it is what God approves. And even if you repair the injustice seems to take, God will give us strength to bear it.
