Nome nas terras

Leitura bíblica: Salmo 49.1-20

Alguns fingem que são ricos e nada têm; outros fingem que são pobres, e têm grande riqueza (Provérbios 13.7).

Estamos vivendo tempos em que corrupção, lavagem de dinheiro, suborno, riquezas e fama são o auge da prosperidade para uns. Porém, o texto de hoje nos faz pensar na vaidade e também na finitude do homem. Ele é um alerta de que a morte virá independente da condição financeira, do nível educacional, de raça ou sexo. Ninguém pode evitá-la ou salvar alguém dela. O texto menciona pessoas que deram “seu nome a terras” (verso 11) e poderíamos incluir aqueles que conhecemos por meio dos livros de História, que foram homenageados com nomes de ruas, cidades, instituições. Podem ter sido famosos, mas não deixaram de ter o mesmo fim de tantos outros anônimos.

Pensando nisso, de que adianta invejar quem é tido como celebridade? Não importa quantos o sigam e aprovem o que ele diz e faz ou quantos bens acumule – terá de deixar tudo isso para outros. Antes de tentar copiá-lo, seria bom lembrar que, embora tal pessoa passe tanto tempo de sua vida buscando riquezas, terras, casas luxuosas, carros do ano, fama e orgulhando-se de ser importante, nada disso a poupará de doenças, dores e morte. Todos terão o mesmo fim e não poderão levar nada consigo.

Então, o que deveríamos buscar? Mateus 6.20 responde: acumular tesouros nos céus. Isso significa investir tempo, esforço, dinheiro e amor no que é eterno: dividir o que se tem com quem precisa; perdoar e amar os outros edificando união nos relacionamentos; viver humildemente buscando a glória de Deus e não a sua… Mesmo que seja anônimo e pobre, quem age assim tem uma vida muito mais sábia e frutífera do que muitos famosos por aí…
Fama, dinheiro, poder – nada disso muda o fim de uma pessoa. Porém, quem entrega sua vida a Cristo recebe vida nova aqui na terra e eterna com ele no Céu. Esta é a verdadeira riqueza!

Mais importante que ter seu nome numa terra é que ele conste do Livro da Vida!

Some pretend they are rich and have nothing; others pretend they are poor, and have great wealth (Proverbs 13.7).

We are living in times in which corruption, money laundering, bribery, riches and fame are the pinnacle of prosperity for some, but the text today makes us think of the vanity and the finitude of man. He is an alert that death will come regardless of their financial condition, educational level, race or sex. No one can avoid it or save it. The text mentions people who gave "your name" (verse 11) and could include those who met through the history books, which were honored with street names, cities, institutions. May have been famous, but didn't leave the same after so many other anonymous.

Come to think of it, what's the point of envy who is celebrity? No matter how many follow and adopt what he says and does, or how many assets accumulate – will have to leave all this to others. Before you try to copy it, it would be good to remember that, although such a person has spent so much time of your life seeking riches, land, luxury houses, cars of the year, fame and boasting of being important, nothing that the spare of diseases, pain and death. Everyone will have the same purpose and will not be able to take anything with you.

So, what should we get? Matthew 6.20 responds: collect treasures in heaven. That means investing time, effort, money and love that is eternal: share it with who needs; forgive and love others building Union in relationships; Live humbly seeking the glory of God and not your ... Even if it's anonymous and poor, who act like this has a much wiser and fruitful life than many famous ...
Fame, money, power – none of that changes the order of a person. However, who gives your life to Christ receives new life here on Earth and eternal with him in heaven. This is the true wealth!
