Rebeldia

Há na Bíblia histórias
sobre profetas que Deus chamou para determinada missão e então tentaram se
esquivar dela: Jonas fugiu de navio para o lado oposto ao que deveria ir.
Moisés alegou dificuldade para falar. Isaías reconheceu ser homem de lábios
impuros. Ainda assim, todos acabaram obedecendo. Ezequiel não arrumou desculpas
para desobedecer a Deus, mesmo quando recebeu a estranha ordem de comer um
livro. O Senhor queria que ele falasse com os israelitas, que tinham se
rebelado contra Deus. Deixou bem claro que o trabalho seria difícil, mas também
prometeu: “Quer aquela nação rebelde ouça, quer deixe de ouvir, saberá que um
profeta esteve no meio dela” (verso 5). Ezequiel não precisaria ter medo nem se
assustar diante de sua tarefa, pois sua obediência a Deus lhe garantiria a
proteção do Senhor.
De fato, é difícil falar
de Deus para pessoas que vivem longe do Senhor e gostam dessa independência.
Nos dias do apóstolo Paulo também era assim, e ele orientou seu aluno Timóteo:
“Pregue a palavra, esteja preparado a tempo e fora de tempo, repreenda,
corrija, exorte com toda a paciência e doutrina” (2 Timóteo 4.2). O Senhor
Jesus também alertou seus discípulos para o fato de que enfrentariam
dificuldades (João 16.33). Isso continua valendo hoje: muitas pessoas não
querem ouvir, desprezam ou zombam de quem leva a Palavra de Deus a sério. Em
muitos países essa rejeição chega ao nível da perseguição física, de forma que
os cristãos são obrigados a se esconder ou contar com prisão, tortura e morte
caso resolvam falar de Cristo.
Ainda assim, o cristão não
pode deixar de falar do que Deus faz na sua vida. Sobretudo, é preciso que seu
modo de viver combine com suas palavras, pois assim valerá também para ele a
promessa de Deus para Ezequiel: prestando atenção ou não às suas palavras, as
pessoas saberão quem é filho de Deus.

In fact, it is difficult to speak of God to people who live away from
the Lord and they enjoy their independence. In the days of the Apostle Paul was
the same way, and he guided your student Timothy: "Preach the word, be
prepared in time and out of time, rebuke, correct, call with all the patience
and doctrine" (2 Timothy 4.2). The Lord Jesus also warned his disciples
that would face difficulties (John 16.33). It still stands today: many people
don't want to hear, despise or mock those who take God's word seriously. In
many countries this rejection reaches the level of the physical persecution, so
that Christians are obliged to hide or rely on imprisonment, torture and death
if resolve to speak of Christ.
Still, the Christian cannot but speak of what God does in your life.
Above all, it is necessary that your way of living combine with your words, so
be worth also for him the promise of God to Ezekiel: paying attention or not
your words, people will know who is the son of God.
