Um cordão de três dobras não se rompe com
facilidade (Eclesiastes 4.12b).

Temos vários tipos de
união: sociedades civis, comerciais, matrimoniais e tantas outras. Desde o
princípio do mundo o homem aprendeu a viver em comunidade e obter os resultados
de seus esforços com trabalho duro. Notou que quando dois ou mais se juntavam
era muito mais fácil chegar ao final de suas empreitadas. Porém, ao longo dos
tempos muitas sociedades tiveram um fim desastroso, pois os valores se
alteraram e o jogo pelo poder e a ganância minaram o homem de forma a
prejudicar todo tipo de cooperação. Ao invés de união, o individualismo e
egoísmo acaba levando as nações a se dividirem cada vez mais, prejudicando os
relacionamentos.
Não é isso que Deus quer
para seus filhos! A Bíblia nos ensina a investir em relacionamentos corretos e
baseados no amor. No texto de hoje, vemos a atitude de alguns homens para
ajudar um paralítico: eles foram criativos e uniram esforços para levá-lo até
Jesus. A fé deles moveu o coração do Senhor. Depois daquela inusitada solução,
o paralítico teve seus pecados perdoados e foi curado. Os líderes religiosos
criticaram Jesus tanto pela cura como pelo perdão concedido, o que nos lembra
que nem sempre a manifestação do poder de Deus alegra a todos.
Com esta história podemos concluir que na nossa busca por Deus muitas vezes são necessários esforço, imaginação e fé. O texto também nos ensina que não precisamos enfrentar nossas dificuldades sozinhos. Em Eclesiastes 4.9-12 lemos sobre as vantagens de ter companhia no trabalho, na caminhada, numa luta e até numa noite fria, e então chegamos ao versículo em destaque: um só cordão pode ser rompido; dois exigem mais força, mas se três estiverem trançados, será muito mais difícil rompê-los. Nas diversas situações da vida, é melhor cooperar ou receber ajuda do que fazer tudo sozinho.

We have several types of Union: civil societies, business, marriage and
many others. Since the beginning of the world man learned to live in community
and obtain the results of their efforts with hard work. Notice that when two or
more gathered it was much easier to reach the end of their contracts. However,
over time many societies had a crashing end because the values have changed and
the game by power and greed have undermined the man in order to undermine all
