Um
belo futuro

podem ser comparados com a glória que em nós será revelada (Romanos 8.18).

Quem de nós não sonha com
sucesso nos estudos, na profissão, no amor e na vida social? Em ter um futuro
tranquilo nesta vida? É bom ter sonhos que nos motivam a viver, mas podemos
concordar que nesta vida nada é garantido. Até eventos e decisões simples podem
mudar o nosso rumo. A filosofia do “comamos e bebamos porque amanhã morreremos”
nos seduz a pensar que aproveitar esta vida ao máximo é tudo que importa. Mas
será que é isso mesmo?
Os cristãos a quem Pedro
escreve certamente tinham seus sonhos. Mas as dificuldades ameaçavam seu
futuro. Passavam por provações destinadas a testar sua fidelidade (4.12).
Sofriam difamações, ameaças e violência física. Os romanos estavam cada vez
mais perplexos e hostis com o crescimento e a vida diferente dos cristãos, esse
grupo ainda recente na vida do império. Como o apóstolo poderia encorajá-los
naquela hora difícil? Na leitura bíblica de hoje, antes de lhes dizer como viver
sua fé em tempos difíceis, o apóstolo dirige o pensamento deles para o futuro.
Ele afirma que Deus, na sua misericórdia, os regenerou para que tivessem uma
grande esperança, “uma herança que jamais poderá perecer, macular-se ou perder
o seu valor. Herança guardada nos céus para vocês” (verso 4). É neste futuro
que eles deveriam estar focados. Ao aguardar pela glória eterna, esta seria sua
grande razão para alegrar-se em meio às incertezas do presente, às tristezas e
todo tipo de provação.
Se há alguém com um futuro
maravilhoso e eterno, é aquele que se reconciliou com Deus por meio da fé em
Cristo. O horizonte de sua fé não se limita a este mundo passageiro, que será
submetido ao juízo de Deus, mas alcança a eternidade. Por isso, Pedro exorta a
mim e a você: “Coloquem toda a esperança na graça que lhes será dada quando
Jesus Cristo for revelado”(1.13b).

A beautiful future

Our present sufferings cannot be compared with the
glory which shall be revealed in us (Romans 8.18).

Who among us doesn't dream about success in studies, in the profession,
in love and in social life? To have a peaceful future in this life? It's good
to have dreams that motivate us to live, but we can agree that in this life
nothing is guaranteed. Even simple decisions and events can change our course.
The philosophy of "Let us eat and drink for tomorrow we die" seduces
us into thinking that take this life to the fullest is all that matters. But is
that it?
Christians who Peter writes certainly had their dreams. But the
difficulties were threatening your future. Went through trials designed to test
your allegiance (4.12). Suffered defamation, threats and physical violence. The
Romans were increasingly perplexed and hostile to growth and different life of
Christians, this group is still recent in the life of the Empire. As the
Apostle could encourage them in that difficult time? In today's scriptural
reading, before I tell you how to live your faith in difficult times, the
Apostle directs their thinking for the future. He claims that God, in your
mercy, the regenerated so that they had a big hope, "an inheritance that
can never perish, or macular lose your value. Heritage stored in the heavens
for you "(verse 4). This is the future that they should be focused. While
waiting for the eternal glory, this would be your great reason to rejoice in
the midst of the uncertainties of the present, to the sadness and all kind of
ordeal.
If there is someone with a wonderful future and eternal, is one that
reconciled with God through faith in Christ. The horizon of your faith is not
limited to this world, which will be submitted to the judgment of God, but
achieves eternity. So Peter encourages me and you: "Put all hope in the
grace that is given to them when Jesus Christ is revealed" (1.13b).

The children of God have a wonderful future in store for them, despite their sufferings of this.
