O que aconteceu? / What happened?

O que aconteceu? Leitura bíblica: 2 Coríntios 5.11-17 _________________ Jesus olhou para ele e disse: “Você é Simão, filho de João. Será chamado Cefas” (que traduzido é Pedro) (João 1.42). _________________

Você compreendeu o que Paulo registrou no versículo 17 da leitura bíblica? “Se alguém está em Cristo, é nova criatura.” Não duvido disso. Mas confesso que tenho tido certa dificuldade em entendê-lo. Lembro que em Antioquia as pessoas que aceitaram crer em Jesus e obedecer-lhe foram chamadas pelo povo de “cristãos” porque seguiam a Cristo. E hoje, será que todos os que se dizem cristãos são mesmo seguidores de Cristo?

Um dia me dei ao trabalho de copiar tudo o que a Bíblia diz sobre Pedro. Quando cheguei ao livro de Atos, percebi uma transformação na vida dele. Verifiquei que lá no começo Jesus usou o verbo no futuro: “Você será chamado Cefas” ou Pedro. Percebe-se que Pedro foi amadurecendo. Ele se torna tão integrado em Cristo que até a sua sombra aponta para ele (At 5.15). Isto mostra o quanto Pedro assimilou e incorporou os ensinos de Jesus. De fato, Paulo tem razão: “Se alguém está em Cristo, é nova criatura.”

O apóstolo João registra no capítulo 9 do seu evangelho a cura de um cego de nascença. Fico impressionado com a cura de sua cegueira e mais ainda com o seu testemunho. “Uma coisa sei: eu era cego e agora vejo.” Claro que ele está feliz com a recuperação física. Mas no seu testemunho há algo que vai além. Transparece nele fé, confiança e segurança. Não apenas o fato de ele ver novamente, mas uma transformação de sua pessoa. Posso aqui dizer que essa mudança aconteceu comigo também! Eu tinha apenas doze anos, mas houve um marco, uma experiência que me leva pela vida afora a cantar e testemunhar: “Vida nova achei quando a Cristo aceitei; ele me criou de novo. Transformado estou, minha vida mudou: hoje Cristo vive em mim. Coisas velhas perdem atração, novo amor encheu meu coração”. (HM)
 

Jesus não é apenas um mestre de vida: ela transforma completamente quem se entrega a ele.

You understood that Paul recorded in verse 17 Bible reading? "If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature." I don't doubt that. But I confess that I have had some difficulty in understanding him. Remember that at Antioch people who agreed believing in Jesus and obey him were called by the people of "Christians" because it followed the Christ. And today, are all who claim to be Christians are followers of Christ?

One day bothered copying everything the Bible says about Pedro. When I got to the book of acts, noticed a transformation in his life. Checked it there at the beginning Jesus used the verb in the future: "You will be called Cephas" or Pedro. One realizes that Peter was maturing. He becomes so integrated into Christ who until his shadow points to him (At 5.15). That's how Pedro assimilated and incorporated the teachings of Jesus. In fact, Paul is right: "If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature."

The apostle John records in Chapter 9 of his Gospel the healing of a blind from birth. I'm impressed with the healing of his blindness and even more so with his testimony. "One thing I know: I was blind and now I see." Of course he's happy with the physical recovery. But in his testimony is something that goes beyond. Transpires in faith, trust and security. Not only the fact he again, but a transformation of his person. I can say that this change happened with me too! I was only twelve years old, but there was a milestone, an experience that leads me through life aside from singing and testify: "new life found when Christ accepted; He raised me again. I am transformed, my life has changed: today Christ lives in me. Old stuff lose attraction, new love filled my heart." (HM)
 

Jesus is not just a master of life: she turns completely who indulges him.
