Viver o Evangelho Leitura bíblica: 2 Timóteo 2.8-12 _________________ Este é o testemunho: Deus nos deu a vida eterna, e essa vida está em seu Filho (1 João 5.11). _________________

Até que ponto você está disposto a sofrer pelo evangelho? Até que o seu círculo de amizades se comprometa? Até o momento em que afetar o seu emprego? Até quando você correr risco de perder bens ou mesmo a própria vida? Quem sabe, para muitos até o momento em que a vida começar a ficar difícil. Num ambiente em que queremos evitar a qualquer custo qualquer tipo de sofrimento, também sofrer pelo evangelho não é a opção da maioria. Na verdade somente estaremos dispostos a esse sofrimento quando aprendermos o significado de viver o evangelho. O texto de hoje afirma que o evangelho é o anúncio de que Jesus Cristo ressuscitou dos mortos. Portanto o evangelho não é uma promessa de prosperidade terrena, mas esperança de vida eterna.

Aceitar, crer ou viver o evangelho significa confiar, esperar e suportar tudo para receber a herança que Jesus Cristo conquistou sobre a morte. Talvez este seja o problema por que muitos não aceitam o evangelho. Afinal de contas, quem se importa com a vida eterna ou com a ressurreição dos mortos? Bom, se este assunto não for do seu interesse, cuidado! Você está tão ocupado pensando em como quer passar a sua vida terrena e passageira que não saberá como ou onde passará a sua eternidade.

Quando vivemos o evangelho, vivemos com uma esperança que não morre jamais, mas que se renova a cada dia e que traz consigo um novo sentido para a nossa vida. O texto de hoje demonstra que o apóstolo Paulo aprendeu o que significa viver o evangelho, a ponto de nem mesmo uma prisão o impedir de continuar a anunciá-lo e praticá-lo. Paulo sofreu e morreu com Cristo, mas um dia viverá e reinará com ele. Viver o evangelho é viver com Cristo em todos os momentos, desde agora até a eternidade. (DS)

How far are you willing to suffer for the Gospel? Until your circle of friends to commit? Until the moment that affect your job? Even when you run risk of losing goods or even life itself? Who knows, for many until the moment when life becomes difficult. In an environment in which we want to avoid at all costs any kind of suffering, also suffer for the Gospel is not the choice of the majority. In fact only be willing to this suffering when we learn the meaning of living the Gospel. Today's text states that the Gospel is the proclamation that Jesus Christ rose from the dead. So the Gospel is not a promise of earthly prosperity, but hope of eternal life.

Accept, believe and live the Gospel means trust, wait and endure everything to receive the inheritance which Jesus Christ has conquered death. Maybe this is the problem why many do not accept the Gospel. After all, who cares about eternal life or resurrection of the dead? Well, if this matter is not of your interest, look out! You are so busy thinking about how you want to spend your earthly life and passenger who didn't know how or where to spend your eternity.

When we live the Gospel, we live with the hope that never dies, but that is renewed every day and that brings a new meaning to our life. The text today demonstrates that the Apostle Paul learned what it means to live the Gospel, to the point of not even a prison stop him from continuing to advertise it and practice it. Paul suffered and died with Christ, but someday will live and reign with him. Live the Gospel is living with Christ at all times, from now to eternity. (DS)
