Em nossa
vida enfrentamos crises – sejam elas econômicas, familiares, sociais ou
espirituais. A reação mais comum nessas situações é deixar-se levar pelo
desânimo e pela tristeza, e ficar deprimido. O povo de Israel também vivia
momentos assim depois de ter passado décadas exilado na Babilônia. Quando
retornou à sua terra, encontrou-a devastada. Esdras, o sacerdote, e Neemias, o
governador, estavam à frente do povo para liderar a reconstrução. E, por causa
da desobediência de Israel, que abandonara Deus, a tristeza tomou conta de
todos quando se reuniram para ler a Lei do Senhor. Eles olharam para sua
própria situação, perceberam a grandeza de seu erro e choraram por ele. Mas
logo foram advertidos a parar com aquele pranto. Não era hora de tristeza.
Aquele era um dia de festa por ser consagrado a Deus e eles deveriam alegrar-se
por isso. A alegria seria a força para que pudessem enfrentar o que viria pela
frente.
A lição deste texto é que devemos buscar ser sempre
alegres. Mas como ter alegria se tudo contribui para a tristeza? Uma rápida
pesquisa sobre a palavra alegria pode esclarecer isso. Um dicionário diz que
ela significa, entre outras coisas, contentamento e satisfação. Ou seja, ela
não depende das circunstâncias, mas da posição que se toma em relação a elas.
Paulo, falando dos momentos pelos quais passou, tanto de necessidades quanto de
fartura, diz que aprendeu a estar contente em qualquer situação, pois o Senhor
o fortalecia (Filipenses 4.11-13). Tinha coisas ruins para enfrentar, mas
estava satisfeito com tudo que lhe acontecesse. Essa satisfação é o que
precisamos cultivar no nosso interior. Quando somos gratos mesmo não tendo tudo
o que queremos, tornamo-nos pessoas alegres. Se a circunstância é ruim ou se
desagradamos a Deus, lembremos que o nosso Senhor é maior que tudo isso. Vamos
olhar para ele e nos alegrar! (EB)
Ser alegre é estar satisfeito em qualquer situação.

In
our lives
we face crises – be they economic, social or spiritual family. The most common
reaction in these situations is being swept along by discouragement and
sadness, and get depressed. The people of Israel also lived moments like this
after having spent decades in exile in Babylon. When he returned to his
homeland, found it devastated. Ezra the priest, and Nehemiah the Governor, were
in front of the people to lead the reconstruction. And, because of the
disobedience of Israel, which abandoned God, sadness took care of everyone when
gathered to read the law of the Lord. They looked to their own situation, they
realized the magnitude of his error and wept for him. But soon they were warned
to stop that crying. It wasn't time for sadness. That was a day of celebration
for being consecrated to God and they should rejoice over this. The joy would
be the strength to face what was ahead.
The lesson of this text is
that we should seek always be cheerful. But how have joy if all contribute to
the sadness? A quick search on the word joy can clear this up. A Dictionary
says it means, among other things, contentment and satisfaction. That is, it
does not depend on the circumstances, but that position is taken with respect
to them. Paul, speaking of the moments for which spent as much as needs of
plenty, says he learned to be content in every situation, for the Lord
strengthened (Philippians 4.11-13). Had bad things to contend with, but I was
pleased with everything that happened to him. This satisfaction is what we need
to grow in our country. When we are grateful even though all we want, we become
happy people. If the condition is bad or if the Air Purifier to God, let us
remember that our Lord is greater than all of that. Let's look at it and
