A lei e
a graça

O Senhor ouviu a oração de Ezequias e não castigou o povo (2 Crônicas
30.20).

A mensagem da graça de Deus tem sido ligada principalmente ao Novo Testamento, mas no trecho que
lemos notamos o prenúncio da graça e da misericórdia de Deus no Antigo
Testamento.
Ezequias
foi um rei muito bom. Procurou limpar o povo de toda impureza espiritual. Notou
também que há muito tempo o povo não comemorava a Páscoa como o Senhor havia
ordenado. Era uma festa muito importante, que lembrava a libertação do Egito.
Deus tinha dado as instruções para essa celebração. Leia Êxodo 12.1-11 e 15-20,
para se informar melhor. Ficava bem claro que seria sempre no primeiro mês do
ano. No entanto, quando Ezequias fez a convocação, ele, os seus oficiais e toda
a comunidade tinham decidido que a festa seria no segundo mês porque não teriam
tempo para prepará-la no primeiro.
Para
participar da comemoração era necessário que todos estivessem limpos de
pecados, isto é, ter oferecido sacrifício de animais ao Senhor como prova de
arrependimento. Contudo, muitos não conseguiram cumprir os rituais da
purificação, mas vieram a Jerusalém e mesmo assim participaram da celebração da
Páscoa. Havia grande alegria no coração de todo o povo naquela festa, mas o rei
Ezequias preocupou-se com o fato de que alguns não estivessem purificados.
Então orou a Deus, pedindo que perdoasse aqueles que assim fizeram. Firmou-se
na bondade do Senhor, exercida sobre os que se inclinam para buscar a Deus de
todo coração. E a resposta de Deus foi o perdão para os que tinham agido mal.
A lei era
clara e eles a quebraram, mas a misericórdia e a graça de Deus superaram o
pecado. Esse é o Deus amoroso a quem servimos. Jesus é maior do que a Lei!
Todos que o recebem de todo o coração estão livres da condenação!

Law and grace

The
message of the grace of God has been linked primarily to
the New Testament, but in the passage we read we noticed the harbinger of the
grace and mercy of God in the old testament.
Hezekiah
was King very good. Sought to clear the people of all spiritual impurity.
Notice also that a long time ago the people celebrating Passover as the Lord
had commanded. It was a very important party remembered the liberation of
Egypt. God had given instructions for this celebration. Read Exodus 12.1-11 and
15-20, to better inform. Was very clear that it would always be the first month
of the year. However, when Hezekiah made the call, he, his staff and the whole
community had decided that the party would be the second month because they
wouldn't have time to prepare it in first.
To
participate in the celebration was all were clean of sins, that is, have
offered animal sacrifice to Yahweh as proof of repentance. However, many have
failed to comply with the rituals of purification, but came to Jerusalem and
still attended the celebration of Easter. There was great joy in the heart of
all the people at that party, but King Hezekiah was concerned with the fact
that some were not purified. Then prayed to God, asking him to forgive those
who did. Established itself in the goodness of the Lord, exerted on those who
tend to seek God with all my heart. And God's answer was forgiveness to those
who had acted badly.
The
law was unclear and they broke, but the mercy and grace of God overcame the
sin. This is the loving God we serve. Jesus is greater than the law. All that
get around the heart are free from condemnation!
