Confusão

Afinal, quem é Deus? Na
leitura bíblica de hoje, aparece um oficial estrangeiro ameaçando o povo de
Judá e seu rei, Ezequias. Na opinião dele, existiam muitos deuses, cada povo
tinha o seu, mas o rei da Assíria, na verdade um homem, não um deus, seria
maior que todos eles, porque subjugou um a um os povos que os adoravam. Para
ele, o Senhor, Deus de Judá, era apenas mais um. E ele achava até que tinha um
apoio dessa divindade para destruir Judá. Fez confusão entre o Senhor, e os
falsos deuses que Ezequias havia combatido.
Mas deixe-me repetir a
pergunta: Quem é Deus para você? Ainda hoje se fala de muitos deuses, o dos
cristãos (seria só um), o dos judeus, dos muçulmanos, fora os de outras
religiões ou até mesmo de religião nenhuma. Deuses modernos como o sucesso, o
dinheiro, a fama, o prazer, o ‘eu’... e por aí vai.
A Bíblia diz que só
existe um Deus (veja o versículo em destaque): é Aquele que criou e mantém tudo
que existe. É verdade que muitos também tentam convencer-se de que não há deus
nenhum ou de que realmente há vários, tal como achava o oficial assírio. Cabe a
cada um de nós pensar bem nisso e certificar-se do que realmente nos convence.
A razão da convicção
cristã de que o Deus revelado a nós, segundo a Bíblia e na pessoa do seu Filho
Jesus é o único vivo e verdadeiro é: quando nos submetemos a Ele, confiando em
Seu amor, Ele nos responde, transforma nossa vida, dando-lhe valor e sentido.
Jesus morreu e
ressuscitou para tornar isso possível. O desafio é simplesmente depositar nossa
confiança nessa mensagem. Quem já fez isso, pode como os tabeliães nas
certidões que emitem: o referido é verdadeiro e dou fé.
Quem
crê no Deus da Bíblia não tem dúvidas de que Ele é vivo e verdadeiro.

Who is God? In today's scriptural reading, appears a foreign official
threatening the people of Judah and King Hezekiah. In his opinion, there were
many gods, each had their people, but the King of Assyria, actually a man, not
a god, would be greater than all of them, because subdued one by one the people
who worshipped them. For him, the Lord, God of Judah, was just another. And he
thought I was a support of this divinity to destroy Judah. Got confused between
the Lord and the false gods that Hezekiah had fought.
But let me repeat
the question: Who is God to you? Today we speak of many gods, the Christians
(one), the Jews, the Muslims, away from other religions or even no religion. Modern
gods like success, the money, the fame, the pleasure, the ' I ' ... and so on.
The Bible says
that there is only one God (see verse highlighting): is the one who created and
maintains everything that exists. It is true that many also are trying to
convince themselves that there is no god or that really there are several, such
as the Assyrian official. It is up to each one of us think it through and make
sure that really convinces us.
The reason the
Christian belief that God revealed to us, according to the Bible and in the
person of his son Jesus is the only true and living is: when we submitted to
him, trusting in his love, he responds, transforms our lives, giving it value
and meaning.
Jesus died and
rose again to make this possible. The challenge is just deposit our confidence
in this message. Who ever did this, can as notaries in the certificates they
issue: this is true and give you faith.
Who believes in
the God of the Bible has no doubt that He is alive and real.
