Confiança

Do Senhor vem o livramento. A tua bênção está sobre o teu povo
(Salmo 3.8).

O rei Davi estava passando por um período de crise. Absalão, seu filho, fez promessas
para atrair o povo e subverter a reinado do pai. Ele dizia que queria ser juiz
em Israel para defender a causa dos pobres: “Quem me dera ser designado juiz
desta terra!” (2 Samuel 15.4). Conquistou a simpatia do povo e então preparou
secretamente uma revolta em todas as tribos de Israel. Dessa forma ele ganhou a
lealdade do povo, que acabou concordando em coroá-lo rei em Hebrom (2 Samuel 15.10).
Diante
dessa situação Davi não teve outra alternativa a não ser fugir de Jerusalém com
sua família e todos seus servos. Foi nessa fuga que escreveu vários poemas,
registrados no livro dos salmos. Eles expressam a sua confiança em Deus mesmo
na fuga. Em tempos de angústia e tristeza ele diz que o seu livramento
certamente virá do Senhor, e não do poder militar que estava à sua disposição.
Mais tarde, quando o templo foi construído, alguns desses salmos tornaram-se
hinos que eram cantados no momento de adoração a Deus.
O Deus
maravilhoso no qual Davi confiou continua o mesmo até hoje. Nós também podemos
confiar nele em todos os momentos de nossa vida. Ele é poderoso para nos
proteger quando enfrentamos problemas, que podem surgir inesperadamente.
Podemos até ter muitos inimigos, como disse Davi, expressando sua amargura pela
rebeldia de seu próprio filho (Salmo 3.1).
Na
realidade, não importa quantos anos nos separam de Davi: ainda hoje estamos
sujeitos a situações em que nos sentimos acuados, oprimidos, atacados e
abatidos. Mas é nesses momentos que Davi nos ajuda a entender que tais situações
são uma prova de fé. Davi não se deixou levar pela dúvida, mas confiou no poder
de Deus. Somos também chamados a confiar, pois o Senhor está sempre pronto a
ouvir aqueles que se lançam em suas mãos com confiança total.

David was going through a period of crisis. Absalom his son made
promises to attract the people and overthrow his father's reign. He said he
wanted to be a judge in Israel to champion the cause of the poor: "I wish
I were appointed judge in the land!" (2 Samuel 15.4). He won the sympathy
of the people and then secretly prepared a revolt in all the tribes of Israel. Thus
he earned the loyalty of the people who eventually agreed to crown him king in
Hebron (2 Samuel 15:10).
Faced with this situation David had no choice
but to flee Jerusalem with his family and all his servants. It was at this
escape who wrote several poems, recorded in the book of Psalms. They express
their confidence in God even on the trail. In times of distress and sorrow he
says that deliverance will surely come from the Lord, and not the military
power that was available to them. Later, when the temple was built, some of
these psalms became hymns that were sung at the time of worship to God.
The wonderful God in whom David trusted remains
the same today. We can also trust him in every moment of our lives. He is able
to protect us when we face problems that can arise unexpectedly. We may have
many enemies, as David said, expressing his bitterness by the rebellion of his
own son (Psalm 3.1).
In fact, no matter how many years separate us
from David, today we are subjected to situations where we feel trapped,
oppressed, attacked and slaughtered. But it is in these moments that David
helps us to understand that such situations are a test of faith. David did not
was carried away by doubt, but relied on the power of God. We are called to
trust, for the Lord is always ready to listen to those who throw themselves on
his hands with complete confidence.
